I like the fridge with it's design but the dark stainless steel is quite delicate as I found out when the service person came to adjust the hinges and the pliers slipped leaving a dent and scratch in the side of the door. The shelving being glass is quite thin and bows slightly when under only moderate weight. I do not think heavy cast iron or stoneware containers would hold up on this style of shelving. The shelves in the door are quite thin plastic and when I take milk bottles out of the shelf there is a lot of creaking so I do not know how long the shelving will last. I am used to a fridge with shelving made from plastic coated wire where they make the fridge more robust and long lasting and heavy items can be stored without any worry of breakage. At this price point I thought the quality of materials would have been stronger and more durable. When looking at the fridge in a showroom you don't realize how it is going to perform until you start using it and realize there are flaws. It is quiet to run but I have not seen a reduction in my energy use considering it has a 4.5 star energy rating.

Fridge is fantastic inside and runs perfectly and the veggies have never been so crisp. As a fridge it does it's job perfectly and the space and design is great. There are two downsides though and the first is that the fridge is actually loud. When there is no other noise you can hear the fridge. In fact, even when there is other noise eg. the TV or people talking you can still hear it humming away. I've never had a fridge this loud before! The second part if that there is a threshold to which the door stops before it closes. We've been caught multiple times where we thought it was closed only for it to start beeping at us a few minutes later because it's not actually closed. The lookaway door close is an unfortunate thing of the past.

As somebody who suffers from various forms of anxiety, my top priority with buying a fridge was finding a quiet one (because I knew that a noisy fridge would send my anxiety through the roof). I am very happy with this fridge in relation to the level of noise that it makes. The fridge spends a lot of time making literally no noise at all (during its off cycles), and the level of noise that it makes during the on cycles is certainly very acceptable and bearable (most importantly, I know that the noise will not be incessant, and soon enough it will get back to being on its completely silent off cycle). All fridges have their on and off cycles, and so there is no such thing as a fridge that makes no noise at all, so with this in mind, it is the ultimate fridge with ... MoreAs somebody who suffers from various forms of anxiety, my top priority with buying a fridge was finding a quiet one (because I knew that a noisy fridge would send my anxiety through the roof). All fridges have their on and off cycles, and so there is no such thing as a fridge that makes no noise at all, so with this in mind, it is the ultimate fridge with regard to noise levels, and I strongly recommend it to anybody who experiences similar anxieties like me in response to obtrusive noise. I should mention that when you first turn the fridge on, it will be fairly noisy for quite some hours while it's doing its initial cooling, so please don't panic like I did when you first turn it on. Beyond this, it is extremely well designed and has heaps of room - I absolutely love the layout! Lastly, one little tip I've learned about this fridge: open the door from the bottom of the handle, because this is the part with the least resistance. You will find that it requires a lot of might to open the door if you try pulling from the middle or the top of the handle. Once you know this (and now you do!), however, you will have no problems opening the door :)

We had a Westinghouse BJ505 505L fridge fir 26 years. At the time, it was rated at 5 stars at 956kwH per year. As standards and refrigeration technology improved, the Westinghouse was ineffeicient. It was inefficient and did not cool food as before. The fridge was operating erratically. Its internal light would dim for no reason. It was time to let the old fridge go. When looking at the replacement fridge I took into account if the new fridge would fit within the space of the former Westinghouse BJ505. I also ensured that the fridge would be able to pass through the entrance doorway and the kitchen doorway. The latter had to be removed to ensure a smooth delivery of the new fridge. I also ensured that the fridge would be able to pass through the entrance doorway and the kitchen doorway. The latter had to be removed to ensure a smooth delivery of the new fridge. It is important to avail yourself of the physical dimensions of the fridge published on this site. Suitable candidates were found. The choice was the Westinghouse, Electrolux, Kelvinator and Panasonic (not sold at this site). The first three brands are essentially the same with a capacity of 496L and energy consumption of 310kwH. Other similarly-sized brands had less stars thus used more power. Those candidates were eliminated. Appliances online made the purchase, delivery and installation without fuss. They removed the old fridge. I had the new fridge since the 19th January 2023 (two weeks as at 02-02-2023). All the contents are fresher than the older fridge. One final point is you must replace two filters. One filter for the main fridge compartment and another filter for the crisper. The part numbers as at 2023 are: 807305302/TA1H01AN[HF] the deodorizer for the main fridge compartment. Then there is 140130164019/A13016401/3AU300511580 Tyvek membrane for the crisper. The filters are significantly cheaper to replace than the cannisters/filters sold with other brands. That is $15 (main compartment) and $5 (Tyvek) compared to $80+ for other brands. The filters for this fridge are purchased at fridge spares establishments. Overall very happy with the shopping experience and the fridge. Thanks Anthony of Belfield, in the land of the Wangal and Eora Peopkes of the Eora Nation Qq
This 496 l bottom mount replaced a 14 yo 360 l bottom mount that was still operating but not big enough for our requirements. It does the job nicely with practical drawers and plenty of usable space. It’s quiet and has a better environment rating than the previous fridge, although 30% larger. Bigger and quieter fridge than the old fridge, and with a better environment rating. Initially noticed the bigger and heavier fridge door, but no issue.
I bought this Refrigerator more than 6 months ago and pleased I did. The interior is spacious and very easy to wipe over and clean. At first, I thought the 'drinks' would be a hindrance, but I find it extremely handy especially for storing several water bottles at once. I can easily fit squat containers beneath this rack and have the taller items on other shelves. The crisper drawer work very well because I like their width and can easily store fruits and vegetables and be able to glance down and see immediately what I want instead of having to rummage through deeper (side by side) crispers. The Freezer shelves work just as well as the crispers and it really is amazing how much I can fit into them. Also the manual ice cube maker is fabulous and I can store ready ... MoreI bought this Refrigerator more than 6 months ago and pleased I did. Also the manual ice cube maker is fabulous and I can store ready made cubes in the small tray below it so I can have cubes available all the time. The exterior is easy clean and always looks good. The doors will stop full closure if I let the door close by itself. But I have found this feature works well for quick turn around use such as accessing milk and cold water. Altogether a very neat and clean looking fridge and functions extremely well for my kitchen use.
We’ve owned a Westinghouse for over 10 years which we have grown out of. The plan was to buy the matching pigeon pair but unfortunately the same model is no longer made. I researched this Electrolux and was attracted to having the telescopic rollers on both the vegetable crisper and freezer drawers. The lighting is brighter than the old fridge and generally has an overall feel of an upgrade to a Westinghouse. Some reviewers have questioned the quality and complexity of installing the handles. They seem to be quite heavy/durable made of brushed aluminum as a magnet won’t stick. Only requires an IKEA level of assembly to fit these nice an tight. One difference to the Westinghouse is that the excess ice tray is smaller, holds about 2 loads of ice. The main question mark is whether the Electrolux being made in Thailand will last as long as the Aussie made Westinghouse, only time will tell. Plan is to now swap out the Westinghouse for the matching Electrolux.
We’ve had our new fridge/freezer for about a month. There is a lot I like about it but there are three things that really irk me. Externally it looks great, it is well lit on the inside, it isn’t silent but is quiet, keeps food cold/frozen, fruit and veges retain freshness, there is amble room in door shelves, love the two drawers in the fridge section although the vege drawer could have been deeper. On the downside, the ice cube maker is just about impossible to get out unless you open the drawer that holds the made ice in order to get your finger behind the front face of the ice cube maker so you have something to pull on. Although they may be up to the task the two glass shelves don’t look sturdy enough to take anything heavy, they sag. Although they may be up to the task the two glass shelves don’t look sturdy enough to take anything heavy, they sag. The only sturdy shelf is the bottom one. The shelves in the door definitely aren’t over engineered either. If you are someone that prefers taking drawers out to clean them, you may want to consider buying a different brand. My biggest surprise was how difficult getting the drawers out is, it’s just about impossible. I had no luck by following the instructions in the manual, they ended up being incorrect. Electrolux sent out a service technician to demonstrate how to do it. You can’t complain about Electrolux’s customer service, but question why it should be necessary. Even after the technician demonstrated what was required to remove drawer I still struggled. Pushing down hard enough on a difficult to access release lever resulted in me tearing my thumb nail into the nail bed, that hurts. I did finally get them out but trying to reinsert them is just about as big a mission. I didn’t have the deli drawer lined up correctly and it dropped and damaged plastic the fridge liner. I have the drawers back in now but question whether I would remove them again to clean, something I am not happy about.
Love the interior layout of this fridge. Shelves easy to clean and contents easily accessible. The door shelves are an excellent width for storage of jars and bottles. The wine rack is a versatile storage space, allowing room for shorter containers beneath. Freezer compartment, with its multiple drawers is excellent. Less loss of temp when you open the door. The exterior is easy to wipe down, doesn't show finger marks. Runs quietly
Have had this fridge a few months now and very happy with it. First time we've had a fridge with the freezer at the bottom, liking that a lot, the drawers make it nice and easy to see what's in there. Love the two drawers in the fridge as well and being able to move the shelves around a bit. At first I thought this model wouldn't fit our space (too big) but there are two sets of measurements - one set exactly of the fridge itself and one set that includes the space needed around it. So it does fit and looks great, also very happy with the highly rated energy efficiency. Nice and quiet too. Purchase and delivery was fast and easy, great stuff!
