I was lucky enough to snag 2 of these in the BoxyCharm PopUp and I absolutely love the texture of this cleansing butter. I use this mainly as a cleanser and mask. It’s a thick whipped butter that glides on smoothly and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. You don’t need much, I use about a dime to nickel size amount. I instantly get a hydrating feeling as I rubbed this into my dry skin and even more so once rinsed off. It gives me a nice subtle glow and has helped reduce redness. I will keep buying! PROS: - This is a cleansing butter, not balm, and I absolutely love the texture of it - Hydrates skin well - Helped brighten skin giving me a subtle glow after each use - My skin feels cleansed, not stripped, when I use as a cleanser. - Doesn’t irritate my combo/acne prone skin - Doesn’t leave skin feeling tight - No overwhelming fragrance - More affordable than Elemis Cleansing Balms CONS: - It doesn’t get all my eye makeup off like my mascara. But that’s fine with me since I double cleanse but not everyone does - Doesn’t happened to me but some have said it leaves an orange tint for them - The packaging. Which is crazy because normally, at least in my opinion, Elemis has great packaging. This doesn’t close well and it arrived with product slightly coming out and into the product box

The packaging is simple but not over the top (I hate paying for excess packaging because it does factor into the price of the product) and the glass container is thick and orange tinted so it will be perfect to reuse as a container. Now onto the product itself: I wasn’t expecting much more than a cleansing butter to be honest. I actually used this after cleansing first with and was shocked at how much more makeup this cleansing butter was pulling off my skin! This is a must have and I’m so glad I got it in my June Premium box because I’ll definitely be buying it again when I run out!

This cleansing butter is a great gentle and effective option for removing makeup. Unlike which feels like a soft wax, this is definitely representative of its “butter” name, without the oily residue. Overall I found it quite effective at removing makeup, but it had to be done different than the instructions. Instead of applying dry and rinsing; it was much more effective applying dry, adding a few drops of water to emulsify while rubbing on skin, and then rinsing. It really needs that bit of water to get off mascara and feel truly clean. Unlike most Elemis products, this has almost no scent, except a VERY faint hint of pumpkin. This review is not so much about Elemis AHA Cleansing Butter as it is about wether or not you think BoxyCharm subscription is worth it. My BoxyCharm subscription is $27 a month. I really could care less what comes inside of the monthly sub box. Some months I'm like oh ok! Almost every single month I keep one item(maybe two) and give my daughter the entire box. She probably has over 50 eyeshadow pallettes. I subscribe to BC strictly for the skin care deals. I purchase my make up elsewhere. I have so many AHA/BHA cleansers, masks, toners, serums and treatments that it would take me 45 minutes to type them all in this review. I've described it's results numerous times on here and also in my review. It's simply THE best I've ever laid my hands on for clearing up breakouts, exfoliating, deep cleaning pores, fading red marks and leaving your face feeling so amazingly soft. This mask retails for $60 at Sephora/Ulta and I've never seen it on sale specifically, unless they had a site wide sale. BC had these for $10 a piece at Mega Drop Shop. The Elemis AHA Cleansing Butter is $39 at Sephora for a huge 90 oz jar. BC had them for $9 a piece. This is almost insulting but it's GREAT for me. The Elemis AHA Glow Cleansing Butter is an amazing first cleanse that removes all makeup and lightly exfoliates at the same time. If I had purchased these items at Sephora it would've cost me $432 before tax. As a BC member it cost me $83 and change. I literally feel as if I've done something wrong. 😂 They have SO MANY HIGH END PRODUCTS! SO many Elemis products I could not make up my mind for dirt cheap. So many high end cosmetics and skin care for a steal. I DO NOT work for BC by the way 😂😂 I just want to put you ladies and gent's on to these deals and answer all of the "IS BC WORTH THE MONEY?" questions.

Great value and does the job

I had been purchasing the Elemis cleansing balm, in a variety of scents, for years. The price increase in relation to amount, and the fact that it has wheat in the ingredient list, had me looking for an alternative. I’ve loved everything from Elemis I’ve tried, and found the supersized cleansing butter has been a great alternative. It has a pumpkiny, earthy scent, which I like. The cleansing butter removes my makeup and leaves my skin with a nice glow. I think it’s just as effective as the cleansing balms. I use it twice a day. Very happy!

I wanted to love this but it’s just ok

I was well and truly influenced by Instagram influencers saying this cleanser ‘melts your make up off’ but unfortunately it just doesn’t :( it looks beautiful (no scent which I thought was odd for Elemis) and feels lovely on your skin but I still need to use my micro fibre face pad to fully get my make up off, I don’t even wear heavy make up just bb cream, a bit of concealer, mascara… maybe I’m expecting too much? But this just isn’t worth it for me when it does almost the exact same job as my much cheaper Cera ve cleanser. 3 stars because it does leave your skin feel very soft and doesn’t dehydrate. Think I might try the pro collagen cleansing balm next time.

MY HOLY GRAIL CLEANSING BALM

You know when you find a skincare product that you're positive you will be using for the rest of your life??That's this cleansing balm for me.I honestly cannot even fathom where the negative reviews come from.I've tried a lot of cleansing balms, & this one is the best. It checks all the boxes for the perfect everyday cleansing balm. Yes, it's scent isn't great. That's because it's not full of artificial fragrance, or essential oils. The texture is absolutely perfect. It has this luxurious, soft, almost "whipped melted butter" feel to it, that I cannot get enough of. It does this with ease. You don't have to stand there rubbing, it just comes right off. That's a very important aspect for me, when it comes to an oil-based cleanser.One more thing to mention, is that if you're worried about the added AHA's in this product, they are *extremely* gentle. In this case, they are fruit enzymes (fermented pumpkin + acerola cherry), which are one of my favorite ingredients for gently brightening the skin. I have very sensitive eyes (most eye creams even irritate them), & I have never had an issue with this cleansing balm.Of course, skincare is personal, so to each their own, but I *highly* recommend trying this product out. It really is the best, with Farmacy's Green Clean being a close second. Both preform very well, but I definitely prefer the decadent texture of this one.

Melts makeup, amazing for oily skin, a little goes a very long way.

I have extremely oily skin and am very prone to breakouts and acne so I went into Mecca to get some skincare advice. The lady suggested not to use gel cleansers as it's very stripping, and told me the best way to remove makeup and all of the yucky stuff is with an oil based jelly butter or balm. She suggested me this product; the smell is yummy and not over powering, although it is a little pricey, a very small amount goes a long way so it lasts a long time, makeup literally comes off so quickly and my skins feels so much cleaner and softer. I also moisturise in am and pm. If you're not sure about it maybe ask if you can get some samples of it but I love the way it feels and works on my skin type.

Not as good as the original

One the things I love about the original is the pleasant very subtle herbal fragrance. This pumpkin stuff smells faintly of chemical smell. It doesn't emulsify eye make up like the original balm or have the same texture. It goes on feeling wet and cold. Yuck. The only positive is that it lasts longer because it's so gross I use less of it. Just put pumpkin baby food on your face, it's far less expensive.

Will not buy again

Not my favourite product. You call it a 'butter' but it really is not. It's a small step up from a gel. Light, easy to use and easy to use too much of it also. I find it sits on the skin rather than allowing itself to be worked into the skin. I don't notice much benefit from it. Hence, I prefer your Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser which does work in nicely and leaves skin clean, soft and refreshed, and also your Pro Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm, a luxurious product where a little goes a long way. I sit in the bath and enjoy the water while working this balm into face and neck and the massage is delightful, as is the rose scent. This balm is a treat. I will buy the balm again, but not the Superfood Glow.
