Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Hydraplay Skin Perfecting Daily Moisturizer 45ml

The Elizabeth Arden 8 hour hydraplay is one of the best moisturizers I have used to date. It is a must for skin prep - I love to use it right before my makeup for even and glowing skin. This can be used year round - it provides just the right amount of moisture without feeling heavy and oily. It hydrates, protects skin, smoothies fine lines, soothes irritation, controls oil, primes for makeup, strengthens the moisture barrier and brightens skin tone. If my skin is feeling (or looking) particularly problematic I know that applying this at night will change everything by the time I wake up in the morning. It is great for daytime use though, and I feel like it provides a blurring effect, so no need to use any primer when I use this. The blurring that happens is natural and looks like my skin but healthier. With most blurring primers, I notice pilling, it doesn’t dry down properly, it emphasizes fine lines, and clings to dry patches. I don’t have any of those problems when I use this. The price is very comparable to the good quality drugstore moisturizers, but with high-end quality. It very much reminds me of a cult-favorite product of the same type that is purchased at Macys. You can buy this one there as well. Elizabeth Arden has always made such amazing products, including my very first eyeshadow palette that I had for years. I don’t know why the brand isn’t more popular. I will buy this again and again!

To describe my skin I generally lean more dry, with a slightly oily t-zone, fairly clear skin with the occasional hormonal blemishes around my chin. I use vitamin c serum during the day and retinaldehyde in the evening most days and tolerate both separately very well, I wash my face twice daily with a gentle facial cleanser and really enjoy a hydrating lotion/cream morning and night. This face moisturizer never worked well for me time after time, it wasn’t ever hydrating enough, I always had to go back in shortly after to apply something more moisturizing on top because my skin just felt so dry! I’ve tried it many times in multiple different ways, layering different skincare and using it solo. It wasn’t sticky which I appreciated, but I felt like it could’ve been so much better and it just wasn’t. All the claims and I felt like I only noticed one efficiently working and that was the pore refining feature. Because of that I’m going to attempt to see if just using it as a makeup primer in areas where pores are more prominent will help it work for me.

This gentle lightweight facial moisturizer is not hydrating enough for my dry skin. I applied morning and night for several weeks and it did not hydrate/moisturize at all. What I love is the tube design, packaging color scheme and beveled pump dispenser. The off-putting floral scent is very strong and smells industrial/chemical. I received this face lotion, complementary in exchange for my opinion. I was excited to see all of the different ways this lotion can benefit your skin. I used the lotion instead of my normal morning moisturizer for the last three weeks. One of my favorite things about this lotion is the way that it prepared my skin for make up. I felt like my make up went on smoother and my pores looked smaller with using the lotion. I did not notice that it had a scent however at times I almost felt like it smelled a little bit like ‘medicine’. Since my skin is getting older, I feel like it didn’t quite hydrate as much as my current lotion does. I’m noticing some dry areas between my eyebrows and on my forehead. I loved this product, everything except the fragrance. The product felt so smooth and silky on my skin. After applying it, my skin felt so smooth and plump (even though it wasn't any plumpier). It hydrated my face which was perfect for the cold winter mornings. My face remained hydrated for the most part of it but definitelyneeded a top up. As mentioned before my only negative comment is the fragrance. It was so strong and I personally hate using fragrance or perfume on my body. The smell made me sick. If it weren't for the punch in the face smell of the fragrance, I would definitely be purchasing and using on the daily. It is a shame that it ruined it. This is a good overall moisturiser for those requiring light hydration. I generally suffer from oily skin, however this recent winter has left my face drier than usual. I found this moisturiser to apply well and sink easily into the skin, without leaving any sticky residue behind. It also left my skin feeling clean, without my pores feeling clogged. It didn’t pill when used with foundation either, which was a bonus. I found the fresh, citrus scent to be very pleasant, however it may be off putting to some, as I found it quite strong. I enjoyed using this moisturiser, however I didn’t find it as hydrating as I was hoping. I feel this would be better suited to my skin during the warmer months. The packaging is quite eye catching. I love the pump applicator - makes it easy to dispense just the right amount. I did notice one day after the product had been laying down overnight, I had to pump several times before the moisturiser would dispense. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, but I never had the problem again after keeping the tube upright. Now for the actual moisturiser - it was a really nice consistency and applied easily. Absorbed into the skin quickly and without leaving it oily. It does have an odd smell but that quickly disappears once applied (no lingering smell). My face felt hydrated all day and when applied at night, it felt nice in the morning. I feel like my skin appeared brighter, even after only a little over a week's use. This handy little moisturizer comes in a small pump which means I can apply the product in small increments directly to my face for maximum product absorption.The product glides and absorbs easily into my skin and has been very complimentary to the vit c and hyaluronic acid serums that I use. This moisturizer also works well with my daily make/up routine.My skin has responded so well since I’ve used the product, no issues whatsoever and looks brighter, feels smoother. I have been using the product as a day and night moisturizer which has been so easy and practical. I'm not a huge fan of the squeezy tube but with a pump dispensing cap that you can't unscrew.
