Even with the change the formula is still amazing. The coverage is great and would highly recommend.

No one could have been more thrilled to receive this Elizabeth Arden trial than I was but I'm not completely sold. Elizabeth Arden made my favourite foundation which is now discontinued, so I really expected this to be the answer for me. It is presented nicely in a glass bottle that is easy to hold. I felt the shade selection would be a plus as it seemed that the shades available could be taken from up to three different ones and still get a decent match. The first time I used this I got into an almighty mess. The foundation was far more liquid and runny than anything I was used to and I found it very difficult to blend because I had too much liquid to allow it to blend well. I used a quality sponge, my preferred method with liquid foundation, however even with my favourite sponge I didn't find the blending easy, even after using it several times. I prefer a soft, natural, sheerer finish and once blended it looked natural and nice but blending was more difficult than with any other liquid foundation I have used. Given time I may love it but at the moment I feel it takes much more time and effort to achieve an even, lovely effect than I expect of a foundation from Elizabeth Arden. I am, however, very appreciative of the opportunity to trial this.

I was very lucky to receive the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation to trial and review. I was very happy with the colour/ shade I selected. The product comes in a beautiful blurred glass bottle with a rose gold lid - very lux looking. I wore this foundation many times, some mornings I would use my finger tips to apply, other mornings I used a brush or beauty sponge and the product blended beautifully and evenly into my skin each time. This is a foundation that is a quality that someone would expect of Elizabeth Arden. I wore it over a Vitamin E base, as silicone primers cause foundations to slide off my oily skin and i found it was a beautiful foundation to just sit on the top of my skin and not sink into my wrinkles in and around my eyes and my other problem areas. You can definitely tell that it has Hyaluronic Acid, vitamins C and E in it to care for your skin as it feels like it is nourishing you as it sits on your face all day. When i put it on i used a brush, i first noticed that the pump only lets a little at a time out, which is awesome as two little pumps covered my whole face with a light coverage which at my age is all i need. If its blended well and applied with enough time for each layer to dry its definitely buildable too, which i only did for the purposes of finding out if it is, as i don't really like to have a heavy foundation. Although having said that - this foundation never felt heavy even when i did build a couple of layers with it - and i really appreciated that and felt it was a definite plus. All in all i was very happy with this foundation and felt like it suited my age group (42) very well - i was very thankful that i was able to review this and would definitely buy it again so thank you!

My needs change according to the season, time of day, event, and how my skin is behaving (or not) so I like to have a couple of good foundations up my sleeve, as I've realised that the 'one' foundation likely doesn't exist. My selection of foundations range from matte, satin to sheer and they all serve a different purpose. The Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish foundation certainly ticks quite a few boxes for me and I absolutely adore the finish on this. I would happily wear this as my day to day foundation or for a night out, it is quite versatile. The closest that I have used to this foundation is probably the IT Cosmetics YSBB + Illuminating CC but I wasn't a fan of that. In comparison, the EA Flawless Finish is a thinner formula that is more cosmetically elegant. It is easy to apply and has good pigment level for coverage. It evened out my quite uneven skin tone, giving my skin a 'my skin but better' look without settling into my lines. The foundation had good staying power and lasted at least 8-10 hours without wearing off unevenly. I would not have normally considered Elizabeth Arden for foundation so I am glad that I had a chance to try this as I was pleasantly surprised and it exceeded my expectations. This would be good for most age groups but especially from 30's onward.

In any thickness of application, this foundation is beautiful and smooth on my skin, leaving me with its namesake 'flawless finish'. I'm really impressed! The hyaluronic acid and vitamins C and E make my skin feel smooth and hydrated, and I think helps with the way the foundation sits on the skin, so it doesn't sink into wrinkles or crease with wear. I was so excited to try this foundation! I’m always looking out for a really nice foundation for my oily combination, and fine lines skin. The colour was perfect! I am usually a natural medium beige, and I received 230N. Usually foundations are either too yellow or pink. This one had a perfect neutral undertone, you could not even tell I was wearing foundation. It has a medium coverage, and you can build it up if you like. It covers all the imperfections, does not settle in my fine lines like heavier foundations tend to do. This foundation is loaded with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and E, which are added bonuses! I then set it with a setting powder, and finished off with the rest of my makeup. I had one of my children’s birthday party on this day. The foundation was on for at least 10 hours. It was a really hot and humid day, and also being in the kitchen over the stove, I felt my face was melting LOL, but can I tell you, it didn’t budge at all, it looked as flawless as when I applied it on in the morning, no crepey eyes, no separation around the nose, which usually happens with my oily t-zone, absolutely flawless 10 hours later. So the next day same skincare routine, I applied the foundation with my fingers, it went on just as beautifully, skin felt super soft and hydrated. As expected by the end of my day cleaning house and running errands, makeup was still intact and had not shifted or moved in the slightest. The third day I decided to apply it with a sponge, again perfect finish, it lasted all day without movement, even my shiny forehead has been under control, I’m assuming because of the Hyaluronic Acid, my skin is hydrated, hence my skin isn’t producing extra oils. I have oil and matte control foundations, but they don’t seem to work as well as this one. So my final thoughts are this foundation is my new holy grail, you can apply it any which way you choose, fingers, brush or sponge, it does not make a difference to the finish. Knowing that it has skincare benefits makes it an added bonus to the product, I feel this foundation would benefit any skin type, if you have dry then you will benefit from the hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, and if you have oily skin/ combination you will also benefit from its flawless skin like qualities….yaaaay! super excited for this product finally a great foundation for my mature, oily skin.

The next day, I went back to purchase two colors. So, do I love this foundation? Yes. Does it meet all my needs? You know the one, where you don't have time or inclination to put on a whole face like you might for work or a night out (does anyone do that anymore?), but don't want to look like you're lived through 2020 when you run in to people you know down at Coles. Unfortunately I selected the wrong shade and ended up with a colour at least two shades lighter than my natural skin tones - but I think that also attests to the great range of shades available in this foundation (I'll caveat that by saying that I'm from a white-anglo background). Thankfully, working from home meant that I could still test the foundation, it's wearability and durability. I'm a two serum, moisturiser and primer kind of gal, so this ... Like others, I liked the pump and amount that came out, and wasn't bothered about the runnier consistency. It went on smoothly enough, and I liked the dewy finish (or was that the two serums and moisturiser?). You can definitely build on each layer, but you do need to let it settle first, or you're going to end up pushing the product around on your face like I did one day when I was rushing things. I also used a setting powder afterwards as part of my routine and was happy with the finish. As someone with sensitive skin, this was a total win as it did not upset or dry my skin out at all. Does it it wear for 24 hours? Well not for me. And frankly, if you're leaving make-up on that long, non-comedogenic or not, you're asking for complexion trouble. It felt like a high-end foundation, but if you have the chance, I'd recommend you trial your colour in person and make sure that you're happy with the lightweight coverage.
