I was gifted one of these flashlights in 2020 and was obsessed! Loved it, first rechargeable flashlight. Lasted about 2 years or so and I use it daily for work. Bought a new one and after a few months it started flickering and dying quicker than usual and less than one year after purchasing, it died. Last month I bought another one. it's already dead. Light is green when plugged in but doesn't turn on.**Also, it doesn't let you know the battery is low.

This Flashlight by Energizer is a good product. There are some really good features on the flashlight that are worth mentioning. First of all, the light is super bright. It lights up a dark room completely. The ability to change the strength of the light (three brightness modes) is good if you need some light but not full brightness. The strobe mode it has would be helpful in an emergency. It’s made of aircraft grade aluminum which makes it light weight in your hand but is sturdy and will shouldn’t break if you drop it. The clip on it makes it easy to clip in a pocket or to your shirt. My favorite feature is that it recharges. Other lights drain disposable batteries fast, but the USB port allows for easy charging as long as you have an outlet to plug in into. While ... MoreThis Flashlight by Energizer is a good product. While I really like this light there are a few things that I feel could use some improvement. While the light has 3 different modes of brightness, it doesn’t have a way to intensify or focus the beam. That would be something that I think could improve the light. The other thing is the port for charging the light. A rubber seal covers the port. While it sits flush with the flashlight and easily comes off for charging, it is not attached to the flashlight. I feel that since the cover isn’t attached it may make it easy to lose. Some kind of attached plug like what phone case sometimes has would improve the plug. If the flashlight had these two additions to its features, this would be the perfect light. Even with it not having those features, being rechargeable and having such a bright light makes it a good overall flashlight to have on hand when needed.

I received this flashlight a few weeks ago and I have to say it's a neat little flashlight. It arrived attached to a cardboard with the charging cord. I would have liked to have a little manual or paper giving you instructions on how to use it and about all the features and how long the flashlight charge typically last. The packaging cardboard was all you got, so be careful when detaching the flashlight and charging cord from the board because all information about the flashlight it on there. The flashlight is about 6 inches, all metal (a nice weight in your hands) and has a little clip for attaching it to your belt. The packaging says the batteries are not changeable. I wasn't expecting that much brightness, so I was amazed! It has three brightness levels and a strobe feature, it takes a little fiddling with it to get the strobe to activate. You have to half press the button and click it again fast, it took me some tries, but I finally got it to activate. This is where a manual would have come in handy. I've not had to charge it yet, so I'm not sure how long it takes or if the charge holds well. A light indicator would have been nice to show when it's charging/charged. I would say not having a manual, indicator light or not being able to change the batteries if it's no longer charging properly are the only negatives I could point out so far. All in all this is a really nice flashlight and I can't wait to use it when it's really needed to see how it holds up.

Everyone should own a flashlight. Flashlights are a necessity for many occasions. Nighttime, no porch light, trying to unlock your door... use a flashlight. Trying to see in the dark, find something in the dark, work on something like a car in the dark.... use a flashlight. Have a power outage.. use a flashlight.Flashlights are something that most people need to use on a regular basis. One thing I hate about most flashlights though, is the constant need to spend money on batteries; especially since batteries are NOT cheap, unless you buy cheap ones that don't last long.So... when I saw this flashlight and it said it was rechargable.... One thing I hate about most flashlights though, is the constant need to spend money on batteries; especially since batteries are NOT cheap, unless you buy cheap ones that don't last long.So... when I saw this flashlight and it said it was rechargable.... I immediately had to have it.The rechargeable function was the very first thing I loved about this. After receiving my flashlight, I came to like it even more. This is a tactical light, with different light settings and a clip so that you can easily clip it to your pants, pants pocket, a thin enough belt, etc...I love how bright this light gets and that it also has a setting where the light is dimmer in case I don't need it so bright or like when I need to look for something in the bedroom but do not want to wake up my partner with a bright light. This is very sturdy and durable but doesn't feel near as heavy weighted as I thought it would.I have only found two cons with this product. One of them may not be serious, but the other con might be.This light is supposed to have a strobe light setting, but even after doing what the instructions said to do in order to activate that feature, I couldn't seem to get it to work. That is the one con that I think might be important. As for the one that may not be so important, there is a rubber cap connected to the flashlight that is supposed to cover the charging port. Even with carefully pulling the cap away from the port just enough that I could plug the included USB cable into the charging port, the cap quickly became detached from the flashlight.I don't find that to be extremely important because you can still push the cap down into place to cover the charging port back up. It just means that in all future uses, you need to be careful to make sure that while using it, it doesn't somehow get caught on something and come back out. If that was to happen, the charging port would be left open to collect dust. Maybe that is more important than I thought, simply because, if charging ports collect enough dust, the can begin to stop working.Overall, this is a very durable product and I am sure that all of the features work very well; at least all of the light settings I could figure out did. Even without figuring out how to activate the strobe light feature; I would still get this product again and reccomend this product to other people.
I read a dozen great reviews before I noticed they were written as a promotional scheme. Since they needed fake reviews I'm convinced this flashlight sucks. Regardless I haven't found much to complain about. You can only use the built in rechargeable batteries and I'm sure that will become a problem. I like to have rechargeable batteries but I like to have the option to use regular ones as the recharge ones will always go bad depending on use and/or time. It's bright, med and low look the same. It's not real big or heavy for being so bright. For a light you'll be throwing away in five or six months it's okay for $20. I'd recommend spending a little more and getting a light that will last.
First of all, I bought it myself. No promotion! It's a flashlight and it works. It's not easy to get into strobe mode. I'll never use strobe., so thank god for that.It turns on in the brightest setting by default and I like that. Has momentary soft press that works goodWide beam with no focus. More of a neutral or soft white than the harsh white.Seems pretty well made and for a camping or nightstand flashlight it'll do the job.If you want to blind somebody or set stuff on fire, better just pass it up!But for a small, rechargeable light that works, it's a pretty good deal for the price.
I've had the Energizer TAC-R 700 flashlight just over a year. I work in the HVAC industry and use it almost daily. This is a great flashlight until it's not. What I mean by that is that in the last few months I've noticed that the battery has a shorter and shorter life cycle with each charge. It has now gotten to the point where the charging light remains red and no longer turns green to indicate a full charge. With most other flashlights this wouldn't be a problem, right; just change out the rechargeable battery and you would be good to go? Unfortunately, not with the TAC-R 700. It comes with a sealed rechargeable battery. I should have read the documentation or did a more thorough job of researching it prior to purchase. It comes with a sealed rechargeable battery. I should have read the documentation or did a more thorough job of researching it prior to purchase. This flashlight cannot be opened and the battery cannot be replaced. It’s basically a piece of trash after the battery goes bad. Why would they design it this way? Other than that, the flashlight was nice and bright at the highest setting and had two nice gradual changes to less intense light as well as a strobe function in its first six months, then gradually became weaker. I like the look and feel of it and it seems well built and sturdy. I should have been more skeptical with all of the positive reviews, which almost all included disclaimers that they received the flashlight as part of a promotion. I guess I would have posted an immediate five-star review in exchange for a free flashlight as well. Unfortunately, I bought mine with hard earned money. Had I known this issue sooner, I would have opted for a different flashlight, even if it meant paying twice as much. Just be forewarned of the battery issue if you do decide to purchase this flashlight. Don’t expect it to last more than a year. To the engineers at Energizer, make this flashlight with a removable/replaceable battery and you will have a winner on your hands.
As someone who never really thought much about having a flashlight in the house for emergencies or convenience, I sure am excited and relieved now that I do!This flashlight is so cool because it is rechargeable! No more buying expensive batteries or disposing of dead ones properly, instead you just plug it in to one of the numerous outlets you already have. That in itself is such a relief that this is worth purchasing. The next coolest thing this flashlight has is some weight to it. You never know when you need to defend yourself and thing thing has a sweet heaviness to it that makes you feel protected just holding it. You could totally use it to defend yourself if needed. (You know, in the power outage during the apocalypse) Just kidding, but really I love how a heavy flashlight feels in my hand. Sturdy and like it won’t break if you dropped it. It’s not too heavy for anyone, just has a nice weight to it.Lastly, it has four light settings on it. A low, medium, and high brightness setting all of which work great. The light is a nice white and looks great. The fourth setting is strobe which I’ll admit I’m not a fan of. It was hard for me to activate, which is done by half pushing and then quickly fully pushing the power button. Also, it is one serious strobe. I tried it out in the dark and it was extremely disorienting which I’ve never had a problem with. Anyways either don’t buy this for the strobe or if you do please be careful not to give someone a seizure with it.Other than the strobe which is hard to turn on anyways (maybe for the best) I love this flashlight. It is super high quality and rechargeable which makes it a dream flashlight to sit in your kitchen drawer until needed. I recommend it!!!
I was hoping this flashlight would last a couple of years, actually stopped working after three months!! I live in the country and walk my dog before work, and need to keep a look out for skunks. I thought this light was perfect at first. I wanted rechargeable, as I need a light on daily basis, and hate burning through battery's, and throwing them away!! I have charged this no more than half a dozen times, and it now shows green light on side when plugged in, but no longer lights up. The One thing I don't like about this flashlight , is the lack of any battery level indicator!! I could lived without it, if it had stayed working.
I've used this flashlight here and there since i bought it in may of 2023. It was bright enough and did it job until today march 14 2024. It will not charge and will no power on even after trying several different micro usb cables so i know thats not the problem. Its a shame it didn't even make it one year with sporadic usage. and even worse that I'm currently needing it for the upcoming bad weather in case of power outage. I would not recommend buying one of these Energizer flashlights.
