I was pleased with this purchase. No need for plastic bags and no smelly garbage bin. The only problem I had was that I could not dig a hole big enough as our ground is too hard. I dug a hole as big as I could and then piled compost around the sides. It works!

I have been looking for a way to make cleaning up after our dogs easier and this sounded so promising... and it is! We adapted it a bit to only be in the ground about a third and the rest is in a bucket filled with dirt and new worms and it works amazing. no smell and is easy to use.

Took a bit of fiddling to set up the bucket as it was slightly tricking joining the panels together. Other than that, this composting system is working really well at the moment. Was using and throwing out a lot of plastic bags when cleaning out my cat's waste, so decided to do some research looking for an eco-friendly way of disposing the waste. Really happy to have found this product, plus it is also good for conditioning the garden soil.

This is an absolutely brilliant product! After a couple of months of putting the poos our 2 dogs produce into this little bin, there are sooo many earthworms churning through it.It doesn't smell, and although the kit is unobtrusive in the garden, I have placed an upturned terracotta pot on it and rested a terracotta pot-base/saucer on top of that and turned it into a little birdbath with composting going on underneath, unbeknownst to the rest of the world.Everyone who has a pet needs one of these kits. It is good for your garden and saves such a lot of landfill.
Having been a dog owner for decades I had long been accustomed to digging holes around the backyard for - ahem- waste disposal. But this is a much better management solution. So tidy and completely easy to use (once you’ve dug the really big hole). I’m not a big fan of plastic products but this is a purchase I can live with.
I set this system up in sandy soil here at my rental accommodation. It was super easy to assemble and install. It has been taking my Ridgeback waste now twice a day with a good 4 finger pinch of compost starter grains each time scattered on top. After a week of use I can already see fluffy grey mould growing and breaking down the waste. I am glad I added a second compost starter bag to my order to make use of Biome’s free standard shipping of orders over $75 as I can see I could get caught short with only one bag and awaiting delivery. The tongs are ineffective (kept them in the kitchen) so I didn’t bother trying to use them and continue to do waste pick up with my horse pooper scoop then tip into the unit. So far so good, we no longer have a bun that smells of dog poo! There is no smell coming from the composted either so it is wonderful. Not close to filling it yet but it has only been a month. Would definitely recommend.
I’m still struggling to see the benefit - mine does smell, seems to need a lot of additive and is often a seething mass of maggots ????. I have taken to churning it with a star picket (not pleasant) to try to help it breakdown, otherwise it’s an offensive sludge. What am I doing wrong? I have 3 dogs but a v large garden so not all waste goes in there. I’m wondering why I’m bothering really, and not just throwing the poop in the garden beds.
Love this! A bit of work to dig into the ground but once that's done you just biff the poo in, put some bokashi powder, aerate it once a week and that's it. Would recommend getting the corkscrew type aerator as this makes aerating it very easy and it fits in the opening at the top. Ours doesn't smell at all, has been going for about 3 months now.
