My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.Then there’s Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. But there’s something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what’s broken in me.Which could spell death for us all.Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait. Hardcover 0920ML

This is not my typical read but something about this book made me want to keep reading! So I had to give it 4 stars. The authors writing style is very fluid and unique. I don’t care for the “trendy” phrases that are written but it’s not frequent enough for me to put the book down. I’m currently on the second book and very interested to see how this series continues.

Twilight meets After with a touch of Shadow FallsI have really enjoyed this book and pretty much fell in love with it. It's about a girl, Grace, who has to move to Alaska and go to boarding school. It's not a regular boarding school but a supernatural one. Grace meets a sexy vampire named Jaxon who protects her from someone that is trying to kill her. The plot was well structured and I loved the titles of the summary. The titles were different from books you read which I liked because it's not something you see. It's not a whole lot similar to Twilight in my opinion but the romance was just like from After. It wasn't toxic but it was an off and ongoing relationship also with that one character who thinks they shouldn't be together so they push the other out of the ... MoreTwilight meets After with a touch of Shadow FallsI have really enjoyed this book and pretty much fell in love with it. It wasn't toxic but it was an off and ongoing relationship also with that one character who thinks they shouldn't be together so they push the other out of the way.The characters were my favorite part of this book. The author did so well by introducing so many characters and explaining who they are. It wasn't overwhelming and confusing at all. There was a uniqueness for each character and most developed throughout the story. My favorite characters were Macy and Jaxon. They helped Grace a lot in the book and protected her. Jaxon also changed a lot throughout the book and the author did well explaining the readers his story. Grace, the main character, was a little annoying but not really but the author wrote her well so I didn't hate her a lot. She was just naive and it was annoying to see how she didn't know she was in the supernatural world. The romance in this book was perfect. I love Grace and Jaxon's relationship because it was nice seeing how strong they were when they were together.I didn't have any problem with this book what so ever but... WARNING SPOILER IS AHEAD SO DON'T READ(Grace finds that she goes to supernatural boarding school around page 300)WARNING IS OVERThe ending did leave on a cliffhanger and the author said that it's a trilogy that I'm so happy about. I don't think I'm going to have enough of these characters in three books but

I picked up this book because it looked like a good twist on the Twilight series. OMG, once I got through the first three chapters I was HOOKED. I couldn't put the book down. I finished all the books except for the one coming out later this year, in TWO days. Tracy Wolff is such a great writer and I know will be a new teen favorite. The main male character in the book, Jaxon, was sooo sexy and fun. I think he was my favorite until the later books when we met his brother Hudson (now he's my favorite :) ). This book is full of adventure, romance, and teen drama. If you love to read fiction or romance or just in general, you have to give this a read. It's now one of my FAVORITE books!

Honestly I would give the book a 3.5/5. It wasn't necessarily bad but it wasn't really great either. Despite some new and original concepts the book seemed to mimic and combine alot of differnt stories in one. I'm not one for romance novels so I felt it was overly cliche. The mere fact it took 39 chapters for Grace to put two and two together made the story drag out longer than it needed to be. With that being said I also couldn't simply put the book down. Watching the chemistry between Grace and Jaxon although obvious , blossomed beautifully. I was so invested in the book and always wanted to know what happened next. I definitely have a love hate relationship. This was my first wver book by Tracy Wolff. I have never read twilight nor do I ever plan on it, buy I can ... MoreHonestly I would give the book a 3.5/5. I have never read twilight nor do I ever plan on it, buy I can honestly say to my friends who were obsessed with it, they would absolutely enjoy this Young adult paranormal Romeo and juliet style novel. Do I plan on reading the rest of the series? Perhaps if it came free like this option but im in no rush st all. Katamere academy did offer some awesome elements though. It had me thinking where do I fall in the world where things that go bump in the Night truly exist?
Crave is like Twilight grew up to be a witty, sophisticated feminist with a flare for fun and romantic tension. When reading, “Crave” the easiest comparison to draw would be that of, “Twilight”. But I feel like I would not be giving the author the credit due for what she has done for this genre. No, “Crave” may be the vampire love story we were missing from Stephanie Meyer’s series but we have arrived in 2020 more sophisticated, demanding more from our heroines, and our literature.I sat with Grace and Jaxon in every room and on every piece of furniture in my home and devoured, “Crave” from breakfast to bedtime. You will fall in love with the elegant world of Katmere Academy. You will gasp and plea for each page of romance, conflict, and plot twists. I swear, I both loved and hated it.This book is a great story, it's the writing I have a problem with.I've seen so many reviews saying it's like twilight and while yes, it has some similarities, as the book goes on, you see that it's it's own story and the differences start to show. I'm usually easy to please I don't really ask for much in a book other than to take me on some kind of adventure and this book did just that. It was so hard to put down as it went on.HOWEVER, the writing was so lazy!!! It's like the author couldn't be bothered describing things in different ways so she used the same sentence over and over and over again. "......ever....in my life" it was driving me crazy! everything was the most beautiful thing shes ever seen in her life. "......ever....in my life" it was driving me crazy! everything was the most beautiful thing shes ever seen in her life. Or she was the coldest shes ever been in her life. It was so repetitive I found myself eyerolling everytime it came up. It was the most annoying thing I've ever read in my life 🤣🤣🤣 anywayyyy not just that. The main character grace is actually quite smart and well spoken but the author throws in stuff like oh he's sexy af. And I found myself like..."really?" You can't thing of anything other than af? It's like those types of words or phrases are just thrown in to remind the audience that the main character is young or something. World building was ok. It was a great story but feels a little sloppy .
Ok I bought this for the same reason most people probably bought this; I’m a twilight fan. However, this is nothing like Twilight. I will admit that I love the main male lead, but the main girl lead is very annoying. She seems desperate and not very believable as a character in general. At times, even cringey. I felt like the climax of this story was very anticlimactic and ended very quickly. Very disappointing when you’ve been on a binger in hopes of some good action. Also, not sure how I feel about the ending from Grace’s POV. I will be reading the second one out of curiosity, but I almost feel as if the author was trying so hard to do something shockingly different from Twilight and I’m curious to see if it’s a hit or miss. I do love that the book includes a couple chapters from Jaxon’s POV, those are actually well written and more believable. Jaxon is what sustained my interest enough to finish off the story. Maybe I just had way too high of expectations. I can’t imagine what the next 3 books will hold, but I’m hoping they will get better along the way.
I actually read this before I read Twilight expecting to love it and was so bored. The storyline seemed super dragged out, way too many short chapters, many could have been condensed into bigger, more climactic chapters. And the timeline was very slow and frustrating to me. 90% of the book takes place over a week and the end chapters rush through about 2 weeks. The writing style was very young too, almost cringey tbh but I wanted to finish it instead of giving up. Ended up returning it after and bought Twilight instead and love that so much more.
I LOVED this book! I had been wanting something refreshing and different fantasy/YA series for awhile now and this is it!As the review says, this is this generation's Twilight, but better. Tracy Wolff has absolutely hit the mark on this one. The character diversity is chef's kiss - mixed races, sexuality, we love it!MC is totally bad as and lovable! It did take me a few chapters to get into it and pick up but I LOVED it!!Only ick I had was how quick MC fell into a situationship/love/relationship with the love interest, feels a bit too quick for my liking but other than that, loved it!
Described as the new Twilight, I found this paranormal fantasy novel to be a hybrid of Twilight / Vampire Diaries with an added dose of Harry Potter. A great book to lose yourself in; and easy to binge-read. Already purchased the next 3 books in the series, before reaching the cliffhanger ending ...
