Overall:Bought this guitar in purple burst in May 2021 to replace an aging LTD singlecut model that had served faithfully for several years, as well as a Squier VM Stratocaster which served even longer. Right out of the box it was packaged well and perfectly playable and ready to go. Setup, electronics, and fretwork were all superb. The wood on the purple model is slightly open pore, and lends itself to the slightly worn finish they were going for. Only issue I had right away was a nut holding the jack in place was stripped, causing the jack to be loose but it was a very simple fix. Finding the right sound is never an issue with the push/pull pots and the overall comfort and playability of this guitar is top notch. Now, after almost two years of shows and three albums later as my primary guitar, she’s still holding up very well and shows little wear. Tuners are stable and electronics sounds as good as ever. No rattles, no buzzing, no scratchy switches and pots. You really can’t go wrong, and this guitar will go toe to toe with others more than twice its price.

Overall:This is the best $600 guitar I’ve ever owned. I’ve had an Epiphone LP before but was never too impressed with it. I decided to give this one a chance instead of shelling out for a Gibson after hearing some good things about it. This one feels like a completely different guitar. Right out of the box the truss rod was adjusted perfectly and there was no string buzz. The finish on the neck feels great and it is incredibly smooth to play. The pickups sound super clear and powerful. The honeyburst is stunning. The only cons I can find with it were the pickguard on mine had been warped to make it fit on the bracket. I’m sure zZounds would have made good on it but I just put the pickguard in the oven for a few minutes and then pressed it between two boards to ... MoreOverall:This is the best $600 guitar I’ve ever owned. Also worth mentioning Epiphone and Gibson also don’t use shielding paint or foil inside their guitars so you do get a noticeable amount of buzz from electrical interference when you’re not touching the strings, particularly when the tone is turned up. These things aside, this feels like a guitar that could easily sell for $2000 if it had a different name on the headstock.

I am satisfied with this guitar. The quality of the finish, frets and hardware is good. Out of the box I was a bit worried as the sound was not so great but but after changing the strings, polishing the frets, adding a bit more arch in the neck, and a set up (the strings we’re quite high) the guitar sounds much better. The neck is comfortable. Not too thick or too thin. As far as the coil split and out of phase electronics they are sounds that for me do not add much. The tone is rich and warm in the rhythm and a bit more twangy (Fender style) in the treble. The tuners are Grovers. I was expecting Wilkinsons as far as what was listed on the website but it seems to be the luck of the draw (by chance) what the factory is using on any particular day. I would recommend buying this guitar. I had a real Gibson guitar in the 80’s (I think made in 1970’s) that I still miss but this seems close to what I remember and today Gibson is way over-priced and the quality questionable (as far as what i read). Epiphone guitars seem to be maintaining their re-sell value so I consider it an investment.

Overall:Prepare to be happy. I bought two of these… One for me, and one for my son. The pickups sound great and they have coil splitting via push/pull pots and they sound equally good in single or double coil mode. I was really expecting to have to replace them, so I was quite pleased when I discovered that I wouldn’t have to.Fit and finish was quite good. I was also pleased to discover that the only part of the guitar that was worn was the top. The rest of the guitar is satin, with a veneered back. But no wear or damages beside the top.The only corner they cut was using Wilkinson Tuners. They have sharp edges on the buttons. They should have stuck with Grover’s. But at $449, these are a really good value. While there is a veneer on the back there isn’t a veneer on ... MoreOverall:Prepare to be happy. I bought two of these… One for me, and one for my son. But at $449, these are a really good value. While there is a veneer on the back there isn’t a veneer on the sides, and you can see how many pieces of wood the body is made of. On one I count three, and the other one I can count four. I don’t really care about that. It’s the same with the neck as well. The neck is not one piece and on one of them they didn’t do a really nice job of matching the pieces at the headstock joint.Great guitar for a beginner just starting out, or for an advanced player to gig in places that you wouldn’t want to take a 3K Gibson. There were a few proud frets and a little bit of sprout that was easily fixed. A beginner should count on needing to have the guitar set up. The fret work would have been covered under the warranty I am sure. But it took me about 15 minutes to do it myself.
Overall:I have had several USA Gibson Les Paul guitars. None of them really did it for me. But there is something to say about the combination of tone, weight and feel that you can’t really get elsewhere. So I decided to see what Epiphone had to offer. Suffice to say that THIS has everything my previous Les Paul models had and then some. With coil taps and a phase switch, I have much more tonal options, but with a much lower price. I think most would be surprised to learn how low the price is. I do wish it came with a case or a bag, but I understand that would have driven the price up. I expect I will go to my normal gauge of strings and maybe put some Seymour Duncan’s in, but only because I like to customize guitars. But everyone who sees and hears this as is ... MoreOverall:I have had several USA Gibson Les Paul guitars. None of them really did it for me. I’d say that Epiphone is really knocking it out of the park these days. And the Heritage Sunburst looks incredible!!
Overall:This guitar, pound for pound, is a beast on the level of it's Gibson label counterpart. The fit and finish are amazing and visually awesome. The pickups give that classic PAF sound with just a little more bite. Coil splitting is a great feature though I never use it. I only have two complaints. First, horrible tuning stability due to a horrendously cut nut. Mine has shredded "fuzzies" at the slots that are more than noticeable on the Low E, A and D string slots. The G string slot is a DEEP trench. The guitar has acclimated to my house for 36 hours and will just not stay in tune. Complaint two is minor. The frets could have used a polishing. All in all, it's a great guitar but it could have been better.
I'm an older learner trying to teach myself from online tutorials.I'm very happy with this guitar. The overall finish is good. The action is not set too high and it's great value for money. Two minor issues - some fret scratches that you probably wouldn't find on a Gibson and the key was missing from the hard case that I bought with the guitar. The hard case was in a plastic bag secured with a twist tie inside a well packed box.No key anywhere.I contacted customer services at Andertons. The response was: "Sometimes the keys go missing in transit..."Make of that what you will. How do I get a replacement key?
Sound:The sound quality of this guitar is off the charts, it does everything it's suppose to do. I've seen reviews that say they don't like the coil-splitting because it doesn't have a Strat sound, well it's not supposed to sound like a Strat, if you want a Strat sound buy a Strat-style guitar, I did!!! It really screams in humbucker mode, the alnico pickups have more of a bit than my LP with PAF's which really sound amazing!!!Features:The most useful feature of this guitar is the coil-splitting, I use it a lot on my clean channel!Ease of Use:This is a VERY versatile guitar, because of the coil-splitting you can get a wide range of sounds from blues to jazz, clean country to heavy metal, the sky is the limit!Quality:The guitar is extremely well made, as I ... MoreSound:The sound quality of this guitar is off the charts, it does everything it's suppose to do. I ran the serial number through Epiphone, and it said this guitar was made in July of this year, so this guitar spent no time in storage it went from the factory to zZounds, to me in hardly any time. Now what gets me is that with the different climates from China to the deep south in the U.S. it didn't seem to affect the guitar at all except that it was slightly out of tune, the neck was perfectly set, the intonation was dead on and that never happens!!! I have never got a new guitar in my 47 plus years of playing that didn't need to be set up, but this one didn't need anything, I was amazed!!! Next, I noticed how beautiful this guitar was (well that was the 1st thing), I got the faded gold finish, and it was flawless, the fretwork was great and there were no tool marks around the fret ends where they round the ends, the screws on the back plates were drilled nice and straight (that's the 1st I've seen on Epiphones). The jack-plate was metal not plastic, not even my high-end Epiphone has a metal jack-plate. The tuners are Grover 18.1 ratio and stay in tune very well. Even all the hardware seems to be of better quality than my older Epiphones. I have owned 3 Gibson USA made guitars and they were great (I wish I still had them) but I now have 5 Epiphones and to me they can compete with Gibson, in some ways they are better and for the money they are better, and I know Gibson uses higher quality woods and all, but I think Gibson has finally realized that the average person can't afford the name Gibson so they are stepping up the quality of their Epiphone models so us poor average people can have quality guitars so, yeah Epiphone has really stepped up their game and I think you should get one before they step up their prices as well lol. This guitar plays like a dream and sounds amazing, I like the coil-splitting feature, it comes in handy on clean settings, I'm using humbuckers on distortion. All in all, this is a fantastic guitar, I'm going to use it as my number 1. Get'em while you can, I noticed zZounds keeps running out of them.!!!
Overall:I decided to buy the worn Heritage Cherry because it reminds me of my 1980 Gibson heritage and boy I am glad I did it does have a great vintage look as a matter of fact its a outstanding vintage look with that beautiful maple top the grain is awesome on mine with this worn finish its like its already broken in for ya the comfortable feel and playability of the neck is so good not one of the frets have that scratchy feel to them at all it's like they been polished for ya already I didn't expect that lol" the fretwork is done perfect out the box the fretboard wood is nice and dark more than I expected it would be the nut was cut perfectly and she sustains for a very long time i timed it 19 seconds with one stum of a chord! Thank You zZounds you guys are the best!
