Epiphone USA Texan Antique Natural Acoustic Guitar

Superb instrument.

The first thing that stuck out to me was the flawless craftmanship and high level of quality control. My brand new Epi Texan came out of the box and case in immaculate condition. I checked the whole guitar under a bright light for blemishes and finish imperfections and I found none. It is beautiful. I know a lot about electrics and very little about acoustics, but I love the feel of this one. It came set up great. The notes ring beautifully with clarity. Same thing when using a capo. I love playing it. In summary, it looks and sounds amazing and it is a joy to play.

I was on the fence for a while about this guitar. Wish I didn't wait so long to get it. This thing is every bit of quality you'd expect from the folks at the Bozeman Gibson facility. Sound is excellent and plays like butter. I prefer a long scale and slimmer neck profile and this guitar fit the bill there. I love how this thing projects sound. It's crisp clear and ready for any type of playing from heavy strumming to fingerstyle. Doesn't take much to drive the sound on this. Feels nice and tight with very responsive sound output. When unboxing you'll swear it's a Gibson till you get it opened lol.. I've never been more satisfied with an instrument purchase. I love this guitar and hope to pass it down when I'm gone. Epiphone USA Texan

Received the Texan earlier than promised. The guitar has a very projected, even sound with excellent response from the bass through to the treble. It works even better through an amp which it is obviously what it is designed to do.Only criticism was the set up on the guitar when it arrived, which could have been better. I had to take it to my local guitar tech to get that sorted out. This however could have been my personal opinion.

I would buy this guitar again and again and I did.

I was 6 years old when my dad bought this very guitar back in 1960. It's the guitar with which I learned to play. I still have it but when Gibson announced the reissue of this '58 Texan, I just had to buy it. I'm totally satisfied with what Gibson has done with this reissue. It's not perfectly identical but close enough. The neck profile is the biggest difference. The original has a soft "V" profile while the reissue has the more modern profile. The original neck also had two pieces with a "stringer" down the middle. The most amazing thing is that they sound almost exactly the same. I am so happy with this guitar. I would not buy again (the one I have is all I need)

This is a great guitar I've never played the inspired by 64 or the new masterbuilt so I unfortunately can't give a side by side comparison however I can tell you that this produces a full rich sound the bass notes are as loud and responsive as the high notes plus it came with no fret buzz and a well constructed case

Reborn!

I purchased this guitar back in January and it's already October. I'm only now writing this review because I've too busy playing the darned thing. Kidding aside, I named this "Reborn!" because my dad bought this very guitar back in 1960. I was a youngster and learned to play on this instrument. This reissue is not exactly like the original but very close. The difference lies in the neck profile. The original has a soft "V" shape and is not one pieced. (This allows easier thumb access) The reissue neck sports a modern "D" profile. The truss rod cap is made of metal instead of plastic. Otherwise, the guitar is identical. I love it! Btw, I still have the original.
