Our family needed a printer just to be able to print things as they come up, such as permission slips, forms for various things, recipes, etc. I did a lot of comparing various brands and models and based on our needs (and I measured the space I intended to use) I found this one to be the best overall fit, and within the budget I had. I was excited for the All-in-One features, and to finally have the ability to print as needed, as well as scan documents. I'm 43 years old and not super tech-savvy, but I can generally figure things out and I was not intimidated by connecting this printer. I was able to set it up very easy and it connected to our wi-fi and my laptop with no issues. I bought this in September and just ordered our first black ink refill (July). We've used ... I've printed two-sided, scanned documents and photos to my laptop, and photocopied documents with no problems at all. We've never had a paper jam, or connectivity issue that I couldn't solve quickly. Overall, we are very pleased with this printer, and I would recommend it to anyone with similar needs to our family.

The scanning features were invaluable to me for scanning receipts to receive Concur reimbursements. I still love the scan feature to this day. The fax utility was a great help in sending needed documents as facsimiles (faxes). The setup and connectivity has not been an issue for me and my family. Also, we do not print heavily in our household but we have to change cartridges often. We mostly use the scanning features. If proprietary ink is not preferred, try other brands. They'll have their own flaws as well. The Ink situation is a (1-Star) while the ease of use (5-Star) and utilities (5-star) are top-notch. 11-Stars divided by 3 categories is a (3.67 Star) rating is how I came to give this product 4 stars - when I consider all of the features it offers.

I spent a lot of time on Staples.com looking for the right printer. I combed through tons of reviews across several brands and decided on this one. I didn't need a high tech printer but wanted one that will primarily print and copy especially from my phone. The setup was so easy and the print quality is great so far. There's an app for mobile printing that is very user friendly. I needed a printer for random things like paper forms and daycare family photos. I got a pack of 4x6 photo printer paper from Staples and was able to print out a few family pictures on this printer easily. So much more convenient and cheaper than going to CVS. This is my second Epson printer coming from a WorkForce 2750 and I have been pleased with its performance and reliability. So when it came time to replace it I began my research comparing the top 4 brands in this printer class, I was quite surprised with my findings, with the Epson printing the highest quality prints with laser-like sharpness and doing so quite quickly too, only one other printer got anywhere near the quality.I needed something network ready that I could connect all my computers and devices to, I've already had the pleasure of having Epson Connect from the old printer and have iEpson app on my phone where I'm able to print from a remote location, which works very well, so finding that Epson WorkForce series printers seem to fit my needs, made ... The touchscreen menu is easy to navigate and has a customization that allows for a different color scheme for the background, it made setup a little easier, though I'd have admit it would be appreciated if the screen was a tad larger, about 3 inches instead of 2.7". The FAX performance is amazing, most in this class offer the same speed and yet it's notably faster sending FAXES. Most of my copying and scanning I'm using the flatbed screen as opposed to the ADF, which is probably why I've never had an issue with any paper jams, the exception might be when I'm doing something with legal-sized paper. The print quality is excellent on everything I've printed so far, it also does it quietly, should mention that there's a setting to put it in quiet mode and it works well. For the most part this is a good value for my level of printing, however, the ink consumption is a little higher than the others, the ones that I compared, there comprise was to reduce sharpness to save ink except for the one which came close to this one and it also uses a little more ink, so the bottom line to get that high-quality print, it's got to use a little more ink. I have to commend Epson for an outstanding job in packaging this printer, nothing is going to move in transport, took several minutes to get through all the blue tape everywhere but the package also includes a CD and power cord, so if you desire to connect phone line, ethernet or USB, you will have to provide your own cables. The paper tray can accommodate 250 sheets, the paper tray is at the bottom, if you happen to have any soft or bulky on your surface, it may interfere with how the tray opens, this is where I'd value it if Epson had place 1/2 rubber feet on the bottom but not a serious issue. In my closing, this is an exceptional home office printer that's ideal for those who print 100 sheets a week or less, if you're printing more than that it would be wise to consider a printer with larger capacity ink cartridges in order to keep your cost per sheet down. To maximize your ink performance it's also ideal to have the proper paper just for inkjet printers, I learned the hard way on my old printer, poor quality paper uses more ink. When you go to purchase this printer, it does come with ink cartridges but only the starter variety which is only about 25-30% of a normal cartridge, so I'd recommend you purchase the 888 cartridges this printer uses at the same time.Overall I'm very satisfied with this Epson printer and would recommend it to others with similar use as mine
To say this printer is unusable is an understatement. I have yet to complete one single print job without issues. Sometimes it just won’t connect to WiFi. Sometimes it spaces out mid-page with no error code and just says busy. Sometimes there’s suddenly a page setting to printer page style disconnect. Sometimes it won’t power on. You get the idea. On top of all of this, user interface is poor and hard to fix errors, there is also no setting on the printer to print double sided, which is an issue because their EpsonSmartPrint app will also not let you select double sided! Yet it’s a “feature” of this printer, although somehowI can get it to double print from my phone’s print interface, but this doesn’t matter because it will just stop printing 75% thru the job ... This is the third Workforce Pro I've purchased in three years. The first one was a different model (I think WF4830), but I always had to babysit the paper feed, because it would eat several sheets of paper at a time. It stopped printing properly after the maintenance box filled up and wouldn't print right even after replacement, so I purchased the WF3820. The first one lasted less than three months. Same problem with the paper feed mechanism, except that this one always caught the paper in the gear teeth (or something like that) and eventually all the little plastic teeth broke off and it wouldn't grab the paper anymore. I was able to exchange it for another one, same model. Same problem. I always have to babysit the paperfeed, one piece of paper or cardstock at a ... I was able to exchange it for another one, same model. Same problem. I always have to babysit the paperfeed, one piece of paper or cardstock at a time because it has a tendency to take several sheets at once. Or it won't take the sheet at all. Today was the first day the little plastic teeth have broken off the gear. So this printer is on its way out, because eventually all of the plastic teeth will break off. I seriously don't know what is happening inside the paper feed mechanism for this to happen, but it makes a clunking sound as it's trying to grab the paper, and that's when I know a piece has broken off. These are the worst printers because of this one problem. Print quality is good, but I will never get another Epson printer again. Three printers in three years is a waste of my time.
Literally picked this up today and already hate this printer. I have an HP that dosnt print photos and gives me and my boyfriend a lot of issues. I got this one beacause its not a cannon (last printer that got the blue screen of death for no reason after 2 years) and its not an HP. Well, paper wouldnt feed right away and was stating there was not paper. Was inserted correctly and fanned (which is really dumb that you have to fan paper this day and age). Got a notice there is firmware updated so I assumed that was the issue. It was. Well, cancelled the 2 jobs in the queue and they will not go away. They have been cancelled and in process of being cancelled for about 10 minutes now. I did a printer head alignment and that printed and worked. I tried to print something ... Printer has nice features but black does not print black, more of a dark gray shade and this was with the original black ink cartridge.I purchased on Amazon an OEM ink cartridge kit, 2 black and 3 color a while back. I checked and double checked that they were Epson cartridges. They were installed and have been working fine for months. A few days ago, there was a firmware update, I installed the update, halfway through I got a maintenance error message, "cannot recognize ink cartridge" and after that I cannot print anything, it is stuck on the error message screen. The printer has the usual features you would expect for a device to use at home. They all work well, and the printer is faster than average for this moderate price range. It is compact and contains the feed and output well. I like the proper sliding drawer for the paper, which I prefer to an open feed tray. The only quibbles I have are that when unpacking it, it seemed like every movable part was taped down, requiring the removal of a few dozen pieces of blue tape. The wireless function is good and connects easily, though it seemed to me that the extra step of having a PIN number for the machine was superfluous. I also usually find it tedious with any home printer to install updated software because the disc is usually not up to date. I installed it on my home PC ... I installed it on my home PC which was very quick to update, and then took longer on an old laptop. As with most printer suppliers, Epson want to push their own photo and image packages, whereas I would prefer all the functions of scan or print to be contained in one download, rather than cover my desktop with Epson icons. Overall, this is good value, simple to set up and use and produces good images of a higher quality than I expected.
