I really wanted to love this product, because we have always been an Ergopouch family as I believe they are the best on the market.My little girl has an incredibly strong startle reflex and wants her arms out. I have so many different Ergo swaddle bags that I was hoping I could just buy the cardi and use my existing swaddle bags. Unfortunately my baby was able to get her arms and hands out of the bag. I think the design would really benefit from some press studs to hold shut the wings and not just folded over. I had to go with another brand with a fully enclosed arms up style. I will transition back to Ergo once her startle reflex stops.

Perfect transition and also great for babies on hot summers day as they can be legs free. It is quite roomy so just means it looks baggy but lots of room for baby to grow and use. Helps gradually rather than going cold turkey.

I found this really helped my baby sleep longer, especially at night. She's now sleeping 10hrs overnight.Not sure why or how, but my baby has worked out how to take her hands out of the cardi. This is a little frustrating as she tends to wake herself up. Other than that, overall great product.
I’m sure it would work well for others, but I had a hard time transitioning my baby out of swaddling and she hated the arms up like this. She didn’t like the love to dream swaddle either - so I should have known. But I had the ergo pouch which she loved, and I used the miracle blanket over top instead and that worked for us, one arm at a time. But when I got rid of the miracle blanket I had the cardie over top with arms out arms she felt more wrapped up - so it worked then.
Purchased this with Woolbabe Duvet sleeping bag as my baby is still swaddled with LTD, hoped it would be similar but the arms stretch out a lot more than LTD and my baby unfortunately could tell the difference between them as he uses the arms to self soothe on his LTDand description says the product is compatible with any sleeping bags but with thick Woolbabe duvet sleeping bag my baby looked rather uncomfortable and too tight even with the looser setting on butterfly cardi.. I do prefer transitional LTD swaddle than this! but good price! unfortunately won’t be using it 🧐🧐
My baby loves sleeping with his arms up. This was great for putting over any sleep sack to control his startle reflex and we later used it to transition him out of needing to be swaddled to sleep. It's also super cute!
The product itself is the usual great quality. However, there is only one size, and it was too small for our baby. As soon as we put it on she hated it.She was transitioning when the weather wasn’t too cold, therefore it would have been fine, but had it been winter I would have been worried she was too cold.We did use the arm warmers instead, which are great and probably did help, as she still had something on her arms. However I doubt this would have been an option in summer.
Purchased for my 4.5 month old to transition out of the LTD swaddles (purchased when he was 3.5 mo) Whilst we haven’t fully progressed to night time with an arm out, we are doing an arm out during day naps and it’s going well! The first couple of times he woke up crying within 20 mins but now he is doing a full sleep cycle with an arm out and is waking happy. My son isn’t quiiiite rolling so we are lucky to do a slow transition which he is taking well! I like that you can choose how tight you clip the cardigan so you can manage the startle reflex. We started out clipped as tight as possible and now have it on the least restrictive. With one arm out, he pretty much appears to have his arms stretched out fully. It was time to stop swaddling my baby as she was 4 months old and was showing signs of rolling. We had previously attempted to do one arm out without the butterfly cardi and it was a nightmare- she was waking every 10 minutes. I was desperate and purchased the butterfly cardi. We followed the guide but took a few days extra on each step as my bub was taking a little longer to get used to it. She now has her arms out and in perfect time for her to start rolling. I wish we had tried this sooner, it would’ve saved a couple of sleepless nights!
