You have to spend a long period of time hearing the author talk about the book before getting to any stories or music. My child was immediately bored and you can’t skip this long intro.

You can’t skip the long intro to the book (the first chapter is the intro AND the story together- ridiculous) so my child has got tired of it and taken it off before the story starts.Ross Noble has a lovely voice but the songs have been totally Americanised - very unnecessary!Overall, do not recommend.

My children and I really like this tonie. They love the story of the Hungry Caterpillar and I really like the fact that you get three stories, songs and facts plus the retelling by Eric Carle. I actually don’t mind the introduction because I think it’s quite interesting to hear how the story came about. Perhaps having that section at the end would suit other listeners more so that their children aren’t having to listen for too long before the story comes on. We also enjoyed the songs and thought they were a lovely addition and the narrators of the stories and introduction have great voices. Everybody is obviously entitled to their opinion and will like different things, but I think the 1 star ratings are a little harsh given the quality and content of the tonie.

My grandchildren always bring their Tonie when they come to stay and I buy them stories. They love the hungry caterpillar! Quality products
Love that Tonies are bringing to life the good old stories that we were all raised being told by our parents. Goid sized Tonie, definitely my grandsons new favourite.
I chose this for my 2yo as his next story because he loves the book. I read the reviews and thought "come on it can't be that bad as the others are really good" unfortunately it is really bad. In comparison with the other stories, this one is just read, and read fast. There's no sounds, there's no pauses, there is absolutely nothing. And I don't understand how those making this have approved it. It is a short story generally but that's when you add some effects. There is this song after the story. It's the story being sang by a tonedeaf guys. My toddler who sings and dances pretty much all day to anything, even a battery operated toy, gets up and turns it off to something else. It's a beauatiful book, please re-do the audio.
My son was.so excited to get this tonie, but unfortunately did not live up to expectations. It tells the same story over & over again & then there's a man singing the song of the story (terrible!)
This is a great Tonie. I love how it has songs and facts to accompany the three stories, making it the perfect Tonie for playtime or bedtime. All three of my children enjoy listening to this.
I bought this when it was first released with the long intro that other reviews are referring to. I was very happy to hear that Tonies listened and have changed it, it is so much better now! Also shows the clever technology and value for money that it's changed without us having to buy the updated version!
Unsure about the poor reviews saying there is a long introduction? My goes straight into the story. My toddler loves it. And the little fact bits about the bugs in between is a lovely touch
