Tequila is normally my drink of choice and I always look forward to new bottles. Espolon has my heart right now! I prefer it over Casamigos. It’s perfect for shots and margaritas. It has a smooth warm taste that doesn’t linger to harshly on your tongue. I have been buying this product for over a year and will continue. The blanco version is great too! PS. Makes a great mango margarita

Comparable to many tequilas that sell for twice as much

Having spent the last 20 years in Jalisco, attending the yearly Tijuana Tequila Festival, and of course in the US, I have sampled a wide variety of tequilas. In my opinion, Espolon Reposado, which recently received international prizes, is the best option among the tequilas available in the US at the around $25 per 750ML price point for both drinking and mixing. Pueblo Viejo Reposado, which has received international accolades and curiously comes from the only distillery run by a woman, is another fantastic option in the US at this price bracket. Both of these tequilas readily rival ones that are twice as expensive in terms of flavor.

I bought this a week ago for a mixer and to try a 100% agave Tequila neat as well to understand the underlying notes and flavors. When you drink it by itself, there's initially the burn akin to many whiskeys, and a nectar-like sweetness that's otherwise nondescript. Then it was followed by a slightly smoky vegetal taste, and after that was the amazing notes of límon and a gummy-worm type fruitiness that really wowed me. Fantastic on its own and as a mixer for cocktails. Love the artwork too.

Espoln is by far my favorite.

My favorite tequila by far is Espoln. We always have it in stock at the bar. Additionally, I adore the way their bottle looks on the shelf. Great stuff, man. Adore it. Espolin tequila is great! : )

Espolon Blanco is a brand I adore, but not their Reposado
19 May 2023

Espolon Blanco is my favorite tequila; after experimenting with more expensive varieties, it's the one that let me discover that I genuinely enjoy tequila. The Reposado, however, did absolutely nothing for me. It has a pleasant lime and agave aroma that is very similar to the Blanco's, but with a little more wood and a stronger lime aroma. The flavor is very similar to that of the Blanco, with the exception that the aging has imparted a woody flavor that muddles and confuses the Blanco's clear agave flavor and leaves a strange, unappealing aftertaste. I'm not sure what caused the strange aftertaste, but it is very awful.

I love Espolon Blano, but not their Reposado

I love Espolon Blanco - it's the tequila that made me realize I actually like tequila, and one I keep coming back to after trying more expensive alternatives. But the Reposado did not work for me at all.It has a nice aroma of agave and lime - very similar to the Blanco, but with a more pronounced lime aroma and a bit more wood. The flavor is also similar to the Blanco, except the added wood flavor from the aging muddles and confuses the clean agave flavor of the Blanco, and there's a weird, unpleasant aftertaste on the finish. I don't know where the weird aftertaste comes from, but it is deeply unpleasant. I much prefered the clean, focused flavor of the Blanco, and relegated the Reposado to mixing duty only. For a tasty Reposado, I instead recommend El Padrino ... MoreI love Espolon Blanco - it's the tequila that made me realize I actually like tequila, and one I keep coming back to after trying more expensive alternatives. Both have much more aging and wood flavor to make their Reposados stand out from their Blancos, and without the unpleasant aftertaste I found in the Espolon. In summary, Espolon makes a terrific Blanco (my favorite out of what I've tried so far), but for a Reposado I recommend looking at El Padrino or Casa Noble instead.

Normally, I prefer tequila as a beverage.
19 May 2023

My preferred beverage is typically tequila, and I always look forward to new bottles. Right now, Espolon has my heart. I like it better than Casamigos. It's ideal for margaritas and shots. It tastes warm and smooth, and it doesn't stay too long on your tongue. I've been purchasing this item for over a year and will keep doing so. The blanco variation is also fantastic!

Perhaps US Tequila will be labeled.
19 May 2023

I enjoyed two of the three bottles I brought back from PV. The goods sold here in the United States appear to be different or inferior. Still, it's pretty excellent. There are no bad options for the price. Two bottles of Don Ramón reposado were recently returned by me. Each cost 290 pesos. The greatest I've ever tasted, by far. Unfortunately, Washington State does not sell it.

Espolon Reposado Tequila

(437 reviews)

Espolòn Reposado is a characterful tequila crafted from 100% blue Weber agave, produced at the San Nicolás Distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. Known for its artisanal approach and cultural pride, the brand pays tribute to Mexican heritage through its striking label design, inspired by traditional Día de los Muertos artwork. After distillation, the Reposado matures for at least six months in lightly charred American oak barrels. This aging process imparts a rich golden hue and a smooth, layered flavor profile. On the nose, sweet vanilla, roasted agave, and soft caramel notes emerge. The palate reveals hints of honey, light spice, toasted oak, and a touch of butterscotch. The finish is mellow, warm, and elegantly dry. Espolòn Reposado is ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or as a premium base for cocktails like Margaritas or Palomas. Bold, authentic, and deeply rooted in Mexican tradition – a tequila that tells a story in every sip.
