Love, love this thing so far. The small issues it has seems to be similar no matter the brand. Static in the cup, a little messy when you remove it because the grinds are still in the gears unless to tap it a little. But, folks, you?re grinding coffee. It has a variety of grind levels and is so fast! For the price, this thing is a diamond in the rough if you ask me.

So far, this grinder is great. The failure of so many is the inability to consistently allow beans to feed it without jamming and clogging. No problem here. There is always a potential for the flow to be hesitant, however most will require invasive probing. The one instance of flow problems immediately yielded to a tap to free it up. Beans are consistently ground, at every setting, the increments of timed grind duration are just right. I have not found an off button for times when the hopper has emptied, but haven’t researched it thoroughly.Great grinder!

I grids beans but…
15 March 2022

I bought this at the recommendation of a friend. I like the fact that you can set it for the number of cups to be ground and the degree of coarseness of the grind. Although, I found that I have to attend to the grind by moving the beans around in the hopper as they jam up underneath shield and if the beans aren’t being ground continuously you don’t get the correct measure. The amount of static of electricity built up in grinding the beans results in having fine coffee grinds all over my counter and coffee machine. Supposedly, adding a few drops of water to the beans will eliminate this. I don’t find that to be the case.

For a coffee lover like me, I want a grinder that offers ease of use, consistent grind, and easy-to-use variable for grinding to the right level for however I'm brewing -- drip, pour over, espresso, or mocha pot. (15 grind levels!) This conical burr grinder makes it easy to do just that - and I love that it grinds quieter than most grinders, and also is anti-static, so the mess on the counter isn't a thing!

Solid with a couple of issues

Firstly, prior to this one, I bought 2 or 3 grinders in three months time, and none was particularly good; one was totally shotty, though it cost the same as this one. Point being, this is a solid contender for the price. Here are my likes: easy assembly; easy to clean; hopper doesn't catch or get stuck; coffee comes out uniformly. Here are my dislikes: a lot of grounds left inside; uses a lot of coffee and is steered toward *STRONG* brew.I have to bang out the excess grounds every time, which gets old. And, for those of you used to a grinder outputting moderate grinds, this one may seem excessive. It took some adjustment to find its sweet spot--the point at which my brew was strong but not overbearing. All in all, I like this grinder. Splits beans in 4

I was looking for a second bur grinder for decaf coffee beans. My other grinder is a Gaccia that has 34 grind settings, 34 being the coarser grind. Mine is set to 5, perfect for espresso brewing, creating nice cremma and flavor. The Espressione, on the other hand, is a waste of money if you are hoping to grind for espresso. The finest grind setting does a poor job, and the coffee brews too fast with no cremma and little aroma. There is nothing professional about this grinder. The only situations I would use this grinder for is for drip coffee or the likes.

conical burr version

I only drink decaf coffee and I was hard-pressed to find decaf cold brew anywhere, so I resorted to making my own. To make homemade cold brew decaf or regular it's best to use coarse ground coffee. Yes, I can have a local chain coffee shop grind their brand of decaf beans for me, but if I purchase beans elsewhere now I can coarse grind at home. I don't think it grinds beans as coarse as the big grinder at the coffee shop, but it does a good job. This grinder is a "conical burr" which means it makes a fairly uniform grind, less noise, and less heat. Small enough to keep out on counter top. There is an error on the Office Depot website that lists the "Espressione Rapid Touch 12-Cup Coffee Grinder item # 345659" as having the same features as the one I am reviewing ... MoreI only drink decaf coffee and I was hard-pressed to find decaf cold brew anywhere, so I resorted to making my own. good burr grinder, does not need frequent cleaning
22 August 2016

This is the second of these grinders I have bought. First lasted 22 months, and I was able to return it under BBB's FANTASTIC customer satisfaction warranty. I measure my beans for each pot of coffee, as the timer is not accurate enough for me. This grinder can be used a LONG time before it needs to be taken apart and cleaned (which is a major advantage over the Capresso, which needs to be cleaned very frequently and is difficult to put back together). The container into which the ground coffee goes is narrow enough that you can pour ground coffee into the filter without making a mess (an advantage over the Cuisinart model, where I needed to use a large canning funnel). The grind can be set from very fine for espresso to very coarse for a French press. There is ... MoreThis is the second of these grinders I have bought. I tap it and then brush to get almost all of the ground coffee out.
