Surprisingly good. While I'd read the previous reviews, I was a little sceptical when I got this, but now I'm adding it to the regular shop!I added a tin of pie apple, some shredded coconut and a bit of vegetable oil and it was so good. This could be the base for so many options. It's super quick to throw something together, cheap, and looked like there were plenty in stock. Next time I'm trying pineapple and coconut and then who knows what after that. I'm really glad to have tried this. Other brands of cake mix are so expensive in comparison. I'll try this one with some cocoa powder and see how it compares to some of the chocky cakes. We usually end up throwing out half the cake anyway as it never gets eaten so this might be a much better option than the more ... MoreSurprisingly good. So Simple to Make - lovely soft sponge cake. I wasn't so sure on this product when I collected it. It was so small I thought there might not be enough to make mini muffins let alone a cake. But it was enough after it was made. We had a kids party on the weekend so I gave the packet to the 10yr old to make. This required 2 eggs, 3 tablespoons of Softened Butter and Milk. Basically just put all ingredients in the bowl and mix until smooth or no lumps, (used electric beater)Pour in a greased tin. (we used a hole in the middle cake tin, as I wasn't sure there would be enough mix to use for our larger cake tins?)This was according to the kids, "Surprisingly Delicious" and "I didn't know a cake was this easy to make"I think it was best eaten hot from the oven, turned out ... MoreSo Simple to Make - lovely soft sponge cake. I saved a piece for the next day but it was a bit dry, so best eaten sooner rather than later. We added combinations of fruits, cream, ice-cream. It was not overly sweet, flavour was nice. Really quick and easy to make. If there is leftover the next day, I would probably pour hot custard over with some fruit. It was Delicious. We tried it on it's own and with extras, the baker (10yr old) had the first piece and said it was "rather pretty good"hahaha thanks a "Bunch" for this one. We would buy it again.

Vanilla versatile yum. This is my fortnight’s treat for my family and work colleagues. I use this mix as a base and then make all sorts of yummy flavoured cakes. Made a coffee cake yesterday. Whips up so easily, nice and fluffy, great texture and flavour. I used almond milk and espresso and added crushed walnuts & a coffee icing on top It’s also great with lemon zest, coconut & a lemon icing. I’ve made all of the Womens Weekly birthday cakes, shapes, numbers, trains etc using this vanilla cake as the base. Add Betty Crocker frosting… OMG to die for Fantastic price, amazing cake mix and delicious too. Can’t beat it.

Quite nice for a cake mix . This vanilla cake mix made a nice cake. The batter was more on the runny side compared to when I bake my own. However it did rise nicely when cooking. A bit more on one side then the other for some reason. 40 minutes fan forced and it was cooked. The cake was soft and airy. It has a hint of vanilla taste. Very easy to make. Just add full cream milk, 2 eggs and softened butter. Being a basic mix you could use it as a base to add different flavours and ingredients. Made in Australia from at least 95% Australian ingredients. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. I'd buy it again to see how it goes with cupcakes. A good item to have when you're short on time.

Great Basic Cake Mix! I've previously tried the chocolate Woolworths cake mix and found it quite lacking in taste and a little dry but that wasn't the case with this version of Woolies basic cake mix. I made the batter as per the instructions but added a teaspoon of vanilla essence just to avoid a tasteless cake like I had with the chocolate version. Adding the extra vanilla was a great move because the flavour when cooked was fantastic!I cheated and topped my cupcakes with pre-made vanilla frosting and they came up wonderful. I took them to work for a morning tea and everyone was thrilled with them and commented how great they tasted. The cake itself was moist and fluffy and really sponge like. Easy cake to bake. Located the Woolworths vanilla cake mix on the bottom shelf ✅ Amazing price at only 90cents. Easy to follow instructions & I only needed to add the 2eggs, butter and milk. Easy cake to make the house smelled amazing. Once the cake was baked & cooled down I drizzled vanilla icing on top followed by 100’s & 1000’s. The vanilla cake tasted amazing light and great taste of vanilla. 1. 5 ⭐️ Health Star Rating Print could be larger on the packet Great price only 90 cent ✅ Cha Ching Made in Australia from at least 95% Australian ingredients ✅No artificial, flavours colours or preservatives ✅Basically a great tasting Vanilla cake Definitely worth a try Thank you @bunchteam for my sample

Good cheap cake mix. I've used these before and they make good bases for more complex cakes once you get a feel for how the mix behaves. I was fortunate enough to get both a chocolate AND vanilla sample! What's a girl to do but make a marble cake I used greek yogurt instead of milk to get a fluffier moist texture and add to the cake flavouring. Added a chocolate buttercream frosting from the baking aisle and made for a dessert better than store bought with very little effort and half the clean up of a from scratch cake. Husband went back for thirds. These can be kind of basic made to recipe and I honestly have only made it as per packet the 1st time around before I started modifying. Also cake is kinda small when only using 1 packet so I normally use 2 but I guess ... MoreGood cheap cake mix. 5 stars. I buy this cake mix regularly as its just so easy to make and it always come out delicious. My young son always gives it a big thumbs up. Its a great cake mix to keep in the cupboard, especially great for a lunch box treat for the kids. The cake mix is at such a great price, so perfect its for people on a budget and I really love how simple it is to make. The cake is delicious baked as is but for something extra this cake is a perfect base to just add some sultanas, apples, banana or choc chip and it comes up so good. My son also enjoys making this cake, we always have so much fun making it together and adding food colouring to make it a delicous green hulk cake or a yellow happy cake. This cake is always a winner here and I would recommended it.

Budget Cakes. This product is great if you are on a budget and you want to make a cake for the family, or as I did cupcakes. I made them in a few minutes following the instructions on the packet, and topped them with some cookies and cream icing mix that I had in the pantry (white wings brand from woollies). If you were making a birthday or special occasion cake you definitely would need 2 packets, but at less than $1 each packet, that's a bargain. I made 11 cupcakes, decent size (see picture). They just took 15 minutes in the oven 180deg. Definitely would buy again as a quick and easy afternoon tea treat. Or for the kids coming home from school. Another suggestion is if you are asked to bring a cake or supply a cake for a fete etc, this would be a great economical ... MoreBudget Cakes. No frills yet fun. I was lucky enough to receive the butter cake mix in this same no frills cake mix range, and my family loved it, so I was thrilled to received the vanilla cake mix also. Found in the cake mix aisle, this product is packaged in a very cheap (yet cheerful ) plastic packet that screams ‘economical purchase’. But what the packaging lacks in frills, it makes up for in ease of baking and quality of product. In less than 20 minutes, I had mini cupcakes fresh out the oven. So simple to make, just cut open the packet and add eggs, butter and milk. Mix and put into the tin and you’re done. The batter comes together nicely. But I really can’t fault it. It’s easy to make, instructions are clear and simple to follow, the cake is soft, moist and delicious. I highly recommend this product especially if you want to get the kids in the kitchen for some fuss free cooking!
