Essentials Caster Sugar 1kg

Pour some sugar on me. I have bought this sugar before and keep a bag in my pantry because I use castor sugar for baking and in some recipes. It’s 1 kilo pack for $2. 20, making it a good low priced sugar. I don’t like the packaging as there’s been times where the opening isn’t sealed properly or is slightly open and sugar easily spills out. I store the sugar in a glass bottle in my pantry. I use this for any sweet recipes and also when I’m making naan and for raita. It’s really tasty in raita, I just whisk 1 cup yoghurt with a fork, add a good pinch of this sugar and a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of mint leaves and it’s perfect for anytime eating. It’s pure Australian cane sugar. I’d recommend and purchase, thank you for the sample.

Pantry Staple. This is a 'must have' for pantry. Great for all your baking needs and just as good as the name brands. I use this for baking regularly and it has never let me down. It is also proudly Australian grown and Bonsucro certified. Perfect for light fluffy baking. This was a limited release sample and I was very pleased to have the opportunity to try it. I usually make castor sugar if a recipe calls for it by blending normal sugar to make it finer. I’ve avoided having to store another sugar and saved money but I don’t do it all the time because of the hassle. Today I used this in apple tea cakes and the butter/sugar did cream better to a lighter mix. The cooked cakes also seemed less dense. I was very impressed with the result and will actually buy this again for the convenience and use it more often. At $2. 20 it was worth it for the improved result. It made me think is there ever a time where using ordinary sugar in baking is preferable to caster sugar…hmmm?

100% Refined Cane Sugar. I picked up a 1kg sample bag of WW essentials caster sugar which is already my preferred brand and a pantry staple for baking and cooking. I use this 100% refined cane sugar in a recipes like lemon meringue pie, sugar syrups for cocktails and iced teas, lemon syrup cake, meringues, marshmallows and short crust pastry to name a few. It’s a reasonable price @$2. 20 for a 1kg bag compared to the CSR brand normally $2. 70. Australian grown and Bonsucro certified promoting sustainability for future generations of the sugarcane industry. More baking thanks now to Caster Sugar! I always buy caster sugar for my baking as I find it dissolves and incorporates into my mixes much better. I normally buy a name brand variety but having now sampled this Woolworths brand sugar I must say it is no different than the name brand varieties. Well now I will start buying this one as it worked a treat in and for all my baking needs. And to top it off it is actually an Australian product, pure and simple - cane sugar!As with the brown sugar I sampled recently, I also appreciated the blurb on the back of the package about Bonsucro - for responsible and sustainable sugarcane. A Pantry Staple. I got this as a sample this week, picked it up and it's very easy to review as I always have this in the pantry. I don't do much baking, however my lemon meringue pie is my signature dessert. Made from scratch from the Women's Weekly Cookbook I got for my birthday when I was 16 (50 years ago) everyone asks for it to be on the menu. I use this caster sugar as it's as economical as they come at $2. 20 RRP per kg. Stores well, is easily as good as the brand product. Product of Australia. Proud little product in my pantry. I don't use much sugar so occasionally when I run out of regular sugar (about once every 2 or 3 years) I fall back on this reliable little baby. This is always going to be a repurchase when I need caster sugar.
