Additives inside spoilt the taste. It's not pure coconut milk. I used it in a curry dish. While the dish was still edible, it was not authentic as it would if i used another brand. It was disappointing. There are additives in it and only half the quantity is actual coconut milk. It would be better to pay just a bit more knowing I'd be getting pure coconut milk without water and thickeners added to it. Also the advertised product shows 2 ingredients (water and coconut) but the actual product bought shows an added ingredient, ie. a thickener.

Bought this today to use in a Dhal, big mistake. This is a really poor substitute for coconut milk and i don't think it should be sold or advertised as such. It is 50% coconut extract and the rest is vegetable guar (thickener). If you care about taste just buy real coconut milk

Competitively priced. This a cheaper coconut milk option that tastes great in cooking however I find it tastes a bit gritty for chia puddings even when stirred prior (although it thickens up fine). It comes in a standard size tin for most recipes and is much cheaper than other products on the market. It's Made in Thailand and does have some fillers. If you want a 100% coconut cream, I prefer Ayam but obviously you're paying a premium for it!

Low fat coconut milk. On opening this can, I found the Coconut cream layer that I usually find in cans of coconut milk of other brands totally missing. This surprised me, so I checked the ingredients list wondering if it was just caused by a lower concentration of coconut. Looking at the ingredients list, I was surprised to find out it was only a little over half Coconut (54%). However, this was similar to my other brands. What I was able to identify, was that the fat concentration was very reduced. 6% fat compared to almost double that from other brands. While this would not be a negative in normal context, I have used that coconut fat layer for cooking (makes a great coconut flavoured frosting for cakes). Product tasted fine but I think it should be marketed as a ... MoreLow fat coconut milk. Brilliant. I did shake the can as per instructions and it actually seemed to work! Normally no matter how much jumping around it doesn't mix. Being old school I prefer the no tab cans, as of late I have had a couple of tins that have gone to the chookies as the tab has been a bit loose - or the other extreme it breaks off and those tins are not made for a standard can opener; so you end up getting out the army opener. The ingredient was good - it worked - added a nice flavour to my rice'. and the colour was a nice bright white. Over all this is now my prefered brand of coconut milk

Perfect for my recipe. I used a can of this Coconut Milk in a "Beef Red Curry". I used 1 jar of Red Curry Paste, A can of Woolworths Essentials Coconut Milk. 1 medium onion, 2 garlic cloves, 300grms Green Beans, 4 medium Potatoes and 1kg of Chuck Steak. Saute meat and add the onion and garlic to soften onion. Set aside and put curry paste into the pan and fry paste off, add coconut milk and simmer. I used a small amount of water in the empty jar and can to get all the good ingredients out and added them to the pot. Put all ingredients into a large pot and bring to the boil and immediately turn down the heat to a really slow simmer with lid on for 1hr and 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Tonight it was very delicious with white rice. Serves 4 hearty sized meals. Very yum!

Good Coconut Milk. I've used this coconut milk in the past. *I purchased this to taste test and review. I wasn't sure how I was going to go using it for a Chia seed breakfast bowl, no cooking. I tasted it uncooked out of the can. It tasted fine and had a little taste of coconut and a little sweetness. Wasn't as watery as I expected. A good thickness to it. I went ahead to make my chia seed and coconut milk mix. It has a dash of honey in it. It tasted quite yummy. I let it set overnight in the fridge, added the rest of my ingredients to the mix. Fresh fruit, greek yoghurt seeds and nuts. It was delish! Thin, flavourless and only 50% coconut. On opening this can of coconut milk it looked very runny to me. Runnier than what I'm used to anyway. I used about a cup in a recipe for coconut pancakes, and whilst the texture didn't seem to impact the quality of the pancakes there was next to no coconut flavour. On closer inspection I found out why. There's only 50% coconut in this coconut milk (!) as well as added thickeners. The brand I normally buy is 89% coconut with no thickeners. The difference is even more evident when you look at the fat levels - 5. 7g/100g for Essentials vs my usual brand at 24. 3g/100g. No wonder it seemed thinner than my usual creamy coconut milk! Quality staple for curries. I always keep a few cans of this coconut milk in the cupboard for cooking curries. I regularly cook Thai green chicken curry and also a few Indian and other curries and this product stands up well across multiple cuisines. Good flavour, not too strong but definitely coconut. Great consistency, not too thick or thin. Price-wise, I don't think it can be beaten. I used to use Ayam but after trying the woolworths brand I have never switched back.

Delivered as a milk, but a traditional can??? So Bunchees - I was once again wondering around the meat section looking for insporation for dinner- then I thought about a product yet to claim - coconut milk!!!!!! Mmmmmm - Thai green curry came to mind - yumso off I went around to all the sections gathering up the ingredients and of course stopping to grab my essentials coconut milk. Well, I am at that point in the cooking where its time, yes, its time for that glorious coconut milk to go in... pick up the tin, turn it around a few times and then realise..... ha ha Ha - this is old school, I actually need a tin opener for this can. I must say, I felt a bit of nostalgia of how we did it back in the day - open a can that is... right up there with corks in the wine. Now ... MoreDelivered as a milk, but a traditional can??? Now I have to see if I can still operate my tin opener which is one of those sideways fancy things. Success - I open the tin, add to my thai green curry and it delivers as would ANY OTHER coconut milk. Under $1. 00 great value, but the convenience of the easy open can.... Id pay the extra 40c
