Cheap but not nasty. During a time that many products were missing from the shelves and freezer, it was pleasant to find these at my local Woollies. Bright packaging which makes it easy to find, good pricing and packaged in Australia from UK origins. Not all snap frozen peas are as good as one would imagine but this was a case of very tasty food. Was tried with sweetcorn and sausages the first time. One day I was feeling quite adventurous and bought the smallest possible amount of pork mince plus a bag of Woollies chippies. I smashed the bejesus out of the chippies and covered the mince and pea balls and the outcome was surprisingly edible. Have since repurchased.

Peas To Please. A nice tasting, good sized pea at an affordable price $2. 20 for 1 kg bag, which held their firmness and form once cooked. Packaging not recyclable though. They’re a great versatile veggie. I like peas, steamed, boiled, added to stews, pasta dishes etc and for the fussy eater, being my son, I make ā€˜Surprise Peas’ to give them added flavour. I’ve included the recipe for anyone who is interested. Surprise Peas500 grams Peas1/2 Medium Red Capsicum, diced3 Rashers Bacon, diced1 tablespoons Butter2 tablespoons chopped fresh MintPlace in a microwave bowl, cover with cling wrap, microwave on high setting for approx 8 -10 minutes. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Hap-pea to re-pea-t buy. (Apologies in advance for the puns. Can't help myself )Great price and product! I was hap-pea to use them to boost the veggie content of reci-peas such as a shepherd's pie. I didn't notice much difference in quality, as I always use peas mixed into food rather than serving on their own. So easy to pour frozen, right from the bag into the pot for a sna-pea meal, just need a steady hand to avoid the odd esca-pea. Value? Yes, peas! What a great price for a freezer staple, and grown in Australia too. The packaging is very basic, in keeping with other veggies in the essentials range, the product is not trying to be a peacock in the freezer section. No snap lock, but I simply use a clip or rubber band to close it before popping it back in the freezer.

No thanks. These were easy to find in the frozen vegetable section. We often buy frozen peas due to the convenience, and we were interested to compare the brands we usually buy to these. Unfortunately these were really disappointing. They were dry, and lacking in the sweet taste we usually get from a variety of brands that we buy. We buy diffferent ones from budget through to the more expensive brands when they are on special and can barely tell any difference between any of them, but these Essentials brand peas were far from the quality of any of the others. The 1kg bag was $2. 20, which compares to the regular Woolworths frozen peas at $3. 30 for a 1 kg bag. Money well spent considering the difference in quality. Maybe we were just unlucky and this was a one off poor quality bag of peas, but I won't be taking the chance that it was and will stick to the other brands that we usually buy.

Just as good but cheaper. Good size plump peas, before cooking. After cooking, still juicy, tender and full of flavour. Highly recommend, since it's also cheaper. There's always a pack of homebrand frozen peas in the freezer as it's such a versatile and convenient vegetable to serve. I always keep a separate one just for emergency in case you need a malleable and cheap ice pack to minimize swelling around the injury, reduce bleeding into the tissues, and reduce muscle spasm and pain until you get medical treatment. Win win as on the actual packaging the peas are stated as grown in Australia. Product description on this website for this product states it's a product of United Kingdom. Possibly typo error.

Freezer staple. These are the only frozen peas that I buy and I always have them on hand in the freezer. In the past I have always stayed with the name brands and not been willing to try the cheaper ones. But in the present economic climate we need to be willing to open to trying other products in order to balance the household budget. Frozen peas are something that is very versatile in the kitchen and being high in fibre and vitamin C & B but low in sugar they are a great addition to any meal. Handy to have on hand for whatever you may choose to use them in. They can be boiled or steamed and served as they are or they can be added to a variety of meals. They are Austalian grown and snap frozen which ensures that all the nutrients and goodness are retained in them and they come with a 5 star health rating. They are completely natural with no added colours or preservatives. The 1kg pack means that there are always plenty on hand at a very reasonable price. The packaging is completely recyclable good for the environment. The other good thing is that they come with a 100% guarantee that if you don't like them you can return them for a full refund so worth giving them a try. I did and I have used them for quite a while and will continue to use them.

Frozen peas. Another basic staple food that gives me a lot of choices to cook. A versatile product that is again open to one’s imagination and design on what and how you use it. The product was one-kilogram large green plastic bag that was not really attractive and looks cheap. I do not know what the difference is between the normal Woolworths frozen peas (which I usually buy) to the Essential (must be on quality and price). I decided to make an easy meal of chicken para with mashed potato, with steamed vegetables of pumpkin, carrot, peas, beans, corn, brussels sprouts and broccoli. Could not really taste the difference from the peas I normally buy, and they taste just the same as all brands. Good value product. I buy these regularly but was great to get to try them through the Bunch group. They are an Australian product which is a plus. They taste just the same as the more expensive brands, and at $2. 20 are excellent value for money. They actually taste like fresh peas when not overcooked. I use them as a side veg. with carrots, pumpkin, cauli and broccoli, use them in fried rice, stir fries, casseroles, stews etc and have even been known to put them in mash potato, wrap it in slices of fritz and used as finger food, which my family love. I have tried several other stores "home branded" frozen peas, but some come with bits of pea pods etc. This brand does not have any extra bits and pieces, just peas. I’ve made this recipe before using the other Woolies frozen peas (pictured above) and they have always been sweet, juicy and delicious. I would not recommend these peas and they will not be a repeat buy for me.

YES, PLEASE TO THESE AUSSIE PEAS. A tick of approval to these beautifully packaged, long-lasting ā€˜frozen sweet deep green peas’ reasonably priced @ $2. 20 1kg'. Why would anybody bother to purchase fresh, when you have these sensational peas available at your fingertips when needed in the freezer, and in my view, reasonably priced? These sweet peas are a practical product and are quite frequently used in our household, either on their own or mixed with assorted vegetables. Advantages are:Ā· they don't require much preparation or lose their fresh sweet flavour when stored in the freezer. Ā· are long-lasting and at the same time still retain their freshness. Ā· can be accessed as needed with no changes to the flavour. Ā· quickly prepared in a microwave oven within minutes. ...Ā MoreYES, PLEASE TO THESE AUSSIE PEAS. What a sensational end to the meal even though I say so myself!!
