Essentials Iodised Table Salt Drum 500g

Well it sure is salty! I was a bit daunted by writing a review of salt but here goes! I have used specific brands all my life but not this one until today. It tastes like salt and looks like it too. The only differentiating factor that I could tell was the awesome price. How amazing if you are on a tight budget to be able to get a staple for under a dollar. Packaging is good and keeps the salt inside dry. Will definitely be switching to this vale for money option.

Great! Product is excellent. It is made in Australia. It is iodised. Container is slightly smaller and so much more easy to handle when using. It is inexpensive. Tastes just as good as the top of the line brands. Yes, will certainly be purchasing it again when this bottle runs out. Excellent product Woolworths!

NEVER USE ANYTHING ELSE. Always use iodised salt in salads & cooking - not only prevents thyroid problems but a plethora of other issues. Flows well even though we have to put a few rice grains in it re humidity. Love the price value on this, whilst not as big as others, its still a handy size for us. Just wish it had a textured external surface for easier handling for those of us with arthritis etc.

Everyone needs salt! Salt is one of the staples in every household! This Woolies iodised table salt is just as good as any on the market. I love the easy to pour container which is also durable. The size 500gms is perfect and the biggest draw card is the price. At only 90 cents it certainly is a great buy. I would definitely recommend it for its value and taste and will continue purchasing it from now on!

As good as any. I found this salt to be no different to any other brands in taste or consistency. It’s in a very sturdy and handy container which is great for storage and also for using the product. I found this container great to use when cooking. The price was great and being 98% Australian made is fantastic. I wasn’t sure about the added iodine and after some consultation with Mr Google I was surprised to learn how important it is to us and in particular our thyroid function. Definitely will be a regular on our shopping list from now on.

What can I say? How do you review salt. It's salt. We have reduced our salt consumption over the years. I can still tell if someone doesn't put even a little salt in vegetables so I have used this salt sparingly when cooking, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, while they are cooking. I don't add salt after cooking, unless it's for fries, which are a rare treat, so for the purpose of reviewing I treated us and the salt was "salt". I think the big test was when I cooked pasta. I used to use very little salt in pasta water until I went to a pasta making course and the chef gave the reasons for the pasta needing to taste like sea water. That sounds bad, but I scratch cook every meal and all bread products, and if you have ever forgotten the salt in your bread, you know why it is so critical to have it. For bread making, I have regular table salt in a canister, because I use it by the teaspoonful. However, when making other things, you tend to only need the proverbial pinch, and that is where this drum comes in. It is so convenient to have the drum in arm's reach when cooking dinner, and to be able to sprinkle on the scant pinch that you need, without having to get out the canister. Good Value. Salt is a staple for us, so I was apprecative to get a sample. I always buy Iodised salt. The flavour and texture was great - you could see the salt cubes, Great price for the size and I will definitely be buying it again. The only downside is the packaging - which makes the product look cartoonish. The blue bottle and red cap is off putting and makes the product look cheap.

Aussie Iodized Salt at Half the Price. This product compares very well with the brand name product I currently use. The granules of the Woolworth's product are slightly larger which improves the taste and it is also made from 98% Australian ingredients. Both products contain the same anti-caking agent. I appreciate the size of Woolworth's 500g container because it is much easier to handle. At below half the price of similar brand name products, Woolworth's Iodized Table Salt is excellent value for money. I will be buying this product in future.

Good alernative. I liked the size and shape of this product weighing 500g rather than the 750g product I would normally buy. I found the print of ingredients & storage instructions on the pack very faint and hard to read. I liked it was made from 98% Australian products but not sure about the addition of ingredient 554 listed alongside the anticaking agent. The flavour and texture was similar to the product I normally buy.
