Amazing top coat! I cannot say enough good things about this gel top coat! I love the color - it is the perfect sheer color and looks amazing. It lasts over a week and is very durable - it looks great the entire time. I do add another coat of the top coat after three days which helps keep it looking perfect. Even though it lasts a long time, it is also very easy to remove. I tried many different brands and even purchased professional nail kits to use at home. They all either damaged my nails or chipped too quickly making them break. But this long-lasting Essie polish, combined with the top coat, finally answers my needs. Truly the best top coat I’ve ever used. And it’s still easy to get off with non-acetone nail polish remover. It’s perfect!... Show more

I purchased the gel couture top coat and I don’t think I’ve ever had a manicure last this long!! The included pic was taken today, and I painted my nails one week ago! It still looks basically perfect, although there is one small chip on my other hand that I only got yesterday. The polish feels nice and smooth when dried. The brush is on the thicker side, which I prefer as it’s easier to apply. I was in a rush while painting my nails but the top coat dried relatively quick, I can’t remember but maybe about 10 minutes or so ?? I was worried about that since some other reviewers said it would take HOURS, but not for me. This is now my go-to top coat!! Love it. I am also wearing the ORLY bonder rubberized base coat, which I think helps the manicure last longer as well. ... I really like the essie gel couture products. It works really well compared to conventional nail polish. You have to use colors in the gel couture collection for it to work properly. It has good staying power with my nails usually lasting 3 days with no chips This nail polish is absolutely amazing. I can never seem to find the time to get my nails done at a salon and now I can get the same results by doing them myself at home. This nail polish has the look and finish of a gel manicure but doesn't require a UV lamp. This polish covers my nails with intense color and a gorgeous glossy shine that lasts for days without chipping, which is very impressive. I will definitely be purchasing this in a ton of different colors,as it is definitely my new favorite nail polish.... Show more

For years I've been on the hunt for a fingernail polish that lasts, helping me to curb my annoying habit of chewing my nails. I tried many different brands and even purchased professional nail kits to use at home. They all either damaged my nails or chipped too quickly (including the "regular" Essie polish) making them break. But this long-lasting Essie polish, combined with the top coat, finally answers my needs. As usual, the polish chips a little quicker on my right hand since it gets more use, but overall this polish lasts maybe 10 days and is easy to remove. This picture shows one coat of Of Corset + one coat of the matte top coat. It offers a natural-looking nail and I'm a huge fan of the matte top coat. I just hope they expand their color options in the future!... Show more

Easy Application: The unique twisted brush is designed for easy and precise application, allowing for even coverage in two coats. 4. Beautiful and Fast!
It's been a while since I've done anything with my nails, mainly because it takes too long and I always end up messing them up right after. I was basically expecting the same with this polish but NO WAY!! It dried so stinking fast... and when I say dry, I mean dry. Not tacky, not you think it's dry then it smears on your clothes. DRY! I am truly in disbelief. It came out a little more watery than other nail polish I've used. Maybe that helps with the drying. But I honestly didn't even need more than one coat. I applied 2 just to see the difference. I could absolutely do one if in a hurry. The bottles are really nice and the curves make it easier to hold. I really like how flat the brush is as well. It makes it very easy to apply and gives great coverage. The color ... I'm so happy to be able to paint my nails again!!! Y'all run out and get yourself all the colors!!!... Show more

Best polish, I do not pay for manicures anymore
As long as you apply the polish correctly, you can get a beautiful manicure that lasts up to 2 weeks, depending on how hard you are on your nails as well as whether or not you use gloves with cleaning products, etc. Your nails need to be CLEAN and DRY. Use a BASE COAT! This helps give a smooth base, as well as keeping very rich and dark colors from staining your nails especially if you wear those colors very often. Once you have on however many coats of polish you want (I wouldn't go more than 3 coats at most), use the Gel Couture Top Coat. Make sure you get the tips of your nails where the chipping starts, just like the salon does it. Best polish I've tried!!
I am admittedly ROUGH on my nails. I'm a picker, and polish always seems to start chipping quickly on me. It also seems to take forever for non-gel polish to dry, and I end up with dings hours later. I picked up a Gossamer Garments & Inside Scoop along with the gel couture top coat after seeing positive reviews. After prepping my cuticles, I cleaned my nails with rubbing alcohol. I applied two coats of color and the top coat. I was SHOCKED by how well this polish performed! After a week, I had minor signs of wear at the tips (unsurprising since I'm rough on nails), and absolutely no chips! I ended up removing the polish on day 10 because I wanted to repaint. I love that it lives up to the hype: gel performance but easy to remove.... Show more

Good but not amazing
I purchased the electric red color and top coat. After reading and hearing a ton of positive reviews, I had high hopes. The first time I used them, I followed the directions on the Essie website where it said no base coat needed, and only one coat will suffice if you dont want to do two coats. After the first day, the tips chipped or wore out to where you can see the white nail, on all 10 nails, but the overall nail lasted 6 days. When I reapplied, I used a base coat (seche vite), and applied two coats of color. This 2nd manicure lasted about 8 days before chipping occured which is great for a red color.I loved the color, but I do not feel it was any shinier or "gel-like" than regular polish. Really like it
Disclaimer: I did use a base coat, the Essie strengthening polish even though it tells you to put the Gel Couture on bare nails. Secondly, since I have a U.V. lamp, I did cure the nails for 1.5 minutes after the polish and after top coat. I’m unsure how much that enhanced the product, but I do like that I did it to ensure a seamless outcome. For experimental purposes, I did do my LEFT hand with 1 coat of the strengthening polish, 2 coats of “sheer fantasy” and 1 coat of top coat. RIGHT hand is 1 coat of strengthening polish and 1 coat of polish only. As you can see, adding another layer of polish and then setting it with the top coat is crucial to ensure you get max pigmentation, shine and setting power.
