Essie Original Professional Nail Polish 13.5ml, 705 KAF-TAN

My best advice for this or really any color product you have not bought before is do not rely on online swatches only if at all possible. I did some window shopping online looking for a new spring shade. Online it looked very muted and light, similar to some shades I already have. I had decided on a different shade based on online swatches, but selected this one when I got to the store. It's a nice shade, not to bright, and not too muted, I would say it's more of a salmon or light coral than peach. It's a good shade for spring and summer. It applies evenly and does not streak, weak time is average A lovely Spring/Summer shade, but I'd wear it year-round. I hope Essie keeps making this one. It's a keeper

This is my go to nail color. Please excuse the mess around the edges, I haven’t cleaned them up yet. It takes about 15 minutes to fully dry and be able to use your hands without worrying. I do notice they chip after about a week and a half to two weeks but that is also due to the amount of lotion and times I wash my hands. I would use a top coat to help the wear time last longer. This is not a matte nail color but you can add a matte top coat. Overall, I use this product a lot and it has always been therapeutic to paint my nails.

If you are looking for bolder, more extravagant looks, Essie is on the opposite end (with the exception of their glitter polishes), wonderful in its own right but more a brand for a specific kind of consumer that adores the softer, more modest variety of nail polish, a type of nail polish not as widely in abundance but highly sought after by a certain kind of nail polish lover/wearer. So if you like things simple or you are just in the mood for something softer, Essie is a fantastic brand. The thinner formula also lasted longer than my other brands. It also is much easier to remove than other brands as a result. Essie makes the best glitter polishes I have ever seen--truly the only polishes in the line that I would call extravagant if that is what you are going for and yet they are still the epitome of sophistication--flashy, sparkling, full of the most glitter in just a swipe, breathtaking in all lighting. Essie nail polishes are for a highly specific taste and for those whom these polishes are a match, this brand is pure gold.

Exactly what I was looking for

I was looking for a taupe-y, brown shade for fall, and No To-Do is right on the money! It’s a very chic shade that is not exactly chocolate, not exactly grey, not exactly mauve; precisely what I wanted! I typically buy indie polishes, but Essie is my favorite widely available polish brand. It goes on buttery smooth, is very forgiving, and is opaque in one coat (though I usually do two). Don’t overlook this fab shade!

Mademoiselle

One coat of Mademoiselle and it looks great apart from the places I messed up on! lol I usually use two coats and it becomes more opaque and smoother. It is one of the more white sheers, so with two coats it looks more opalescent than pink. Warning: do not get sunscreen on nail polish!!! It breaks it down and makes it sticky. This nail polish in the picture got sunscreen on it 24 hours previously though but I washed it off with soap and water and it went back to normal, as shown. ALSO CAN PEOPLE PLEASE INCLUDE THE NAMES OF THE POLISH THEY’RE REVIEWING?? I am dying at these comments showing off beautiful polish but not saying what color it is when Essie has so many that look alike!! 😭

TOO EXPENSIVE

Boatloads of love is a beautiful muted, creamy white. It’s not pink, not even slightly - more of a grayish undertone. It’s not iridescent - not at all even though the bottle looks like it. It’s very streaky - 3 coats for decent coverage. And it dries weird, almost like it’s old polish which sucks because I literally just bought this. Idk how well it wears but judging by the tiny bubbles forming and how long it’s taking to fully dry, I’m not hopeful. Super disappointing considering the price!

Wicked

I adore essie's Wicked. It only takes one coat to get the gorgeous black cherry color. It needs to be reapplied after a couple days though, if not using a topcoat. Personally, I don't mind because I enjoy painting my nails with this color and just the color alone looks fantastic. As far as I know, no other brand makes this particular shade of dark red and makes it accessible and affordable. ❤️

color was off

I like this brand a lot. I usually have great success in selecting flattering colors for myself. This time was a mistake for me.I bought the color "throw in the towel". It's supposed to be a moderately vibrant, rosy pink. Unfortunately, it's not pink at all. It's a bright (almost neon) coral orange. It's a pinkish, bright pumpkin shade. It has a retro peaches and cream vibe. It's certainly attractive, but it's not what I was looking for.They seriously need to adjust their cameras. I'm hesitant to select another shade online.
