Essteele Stainless Steel Stovetop Kettle 1.9L

The kettle is very disappointing. I replaced my 20 year old Essteele kettle with this new kettle because the whistle had ceased functioning. Whilst the whistle is very effective, I find that the handle gets hot (even though part of it is rubberised) and it is not easy to lift the spout component. I also usually fill a kettle with water via the spout and this is extremely difficult with this kettle.

Inside bottom is a kind of stainless that rusts, whereas top section is kind that stays shiny. So now you have rust inside the kettle. This is common with Chinese made kettles, even when branded by respected companies like Essteele. I loved my Essteele copper bottomed saucepans in the 1980's and 1990's, but this kettle is a mistake and I won't buy the brand again.

I love my new kettle! Bought to replace our noisy electric jug! This kettle works on the induction cooktop and although has a loud whistle...I am able to time the cooking on the induction cooktop. It looks spectacular and the handle is heatproof and the flip on the spout is so well designed.. It tips and pours in a very well balanced manner. Great!!

Design and function fabulous

I had an essteele kettle for 28 years and it was still OK so I knew this would be a high quality product if it was anything like the last one. I bought this new one a couple of weeks ago to complement my new kitchen. It sits on my gas cook top and has a fantastic high-end look and modern yet classic design. It was very reasonably priced for the quality of the product. I love the heavy, sealed base and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this kettle. Don't hesitate to buy it if you want a quality product.

Had rust marks after first boil

I bought this Kettle on Friday afternoon and after following the instructions with cleaning and discarding the first boil I found a line of rust spots about 2cm from the base of the kettle internally. I haven't even used the kettle for a cup of tea! Tried to exchange at Peters of Kensington on the Tuesday morning after but they refused insisting on an Esstelle rep looking at in on the next Friday. The staff member was so rude I will return on Friday. I like the look of the kettle and that it is Stainless steel but rust spots after the first boil is extremely bad quality!

Super Fabulous Quality Kettle....

This is the second time I've purchased this exact same Kettle... Unfortunately I left the whistle lid up and boiled it dry melting the rubber! My fault not the kettle's. Its a superior kettle in that it has a thick stainless steel base like quality saucepans do. I would give it the highest rating possible which is why I bought another one when I destroyed the first one... AAA+

I bought my kettle online and it arrived in about a week.This kettle compliments my new kitchen and also matches the rest of the Essteele cookware.It's impossible to leave the kettle boil too long because the whistle is effective.The handle does not become too hot and steam when poring misses my hand. The design is perfect.The construction is excellent and long lasting.I would recommend This kettle and Essteele every time.I have been using Essteele kitchen products for over 40 years, They are easy to clean and always retain their shine.

Very poorly designed spout spring

My wife purchased this kettle four months ago. We both thought it would last a lifetime, until the spring that holds the whistle/pourer up failed making the kettle dangerous to use. My wife took the kettle back to where it was purchased from and they immediately put in a claim for a replacement, that was two weeks ago and they are still waiting to hear back from Essteele Customer service. Does not live up to the reputation they put on their products. Very disappointed a beautiful kettle let down by a cheap spring.

Whistle springs apart

I bought my Essteele stainless steel stove top kettle 18 months or so ago. It works well but the 3 parts of the whistle spring apart regularly and are very difficult to put together securely. The 4 small indents & corresponding protuberances very difficult to match and press together, you can’t see them once the 3 pieces are placed together around the lifting arm. While I love the kettle, I’m very disappointed that I need to ‘fix’ the whistle every couple of months.

I received this kettle a couple of weeks ago, replacing an Essteele kettle that I bought in September 1981. The whistle part had died of old age.The new kettle looks great but I am not happy. Who designed this??? Don't they test these things first, before selling them??The handle gets HOT. It's stainless steel, obviously it's going to get hot. It needs more protection for one's hand
