This is quite a thick formula. It blends well but it is very full coverage – easily one of the best full coverage foundations you could hope to get your hands on. Things like blemishes, redness or uneven skin tone are all easily concealed. However, I don’t think I’d necessarily describe this as buildable; you get such full coverage from the first application that you’re unlikely to need more. It also dries down quite quickly, so can go a little cakey if you apply much more after your first go. The formula also includes SPF 10, which adds very little in my opinion. Not only is this a very low rating, but the expert consensus regarding SPF in makeup – not just for this foundation but across the board – is that we are unlikely to apply anywhere near enough to achieve ... This formula is non comodogenic, meaning it wont clog your pores and the ingredient list is pretty safe as far as foundations go. This gives me that radiant soft focus matte finish that i prefer in foundations. Makes your skin look lit from within, NOT SHINY. Which i swear is what i hate most about all of these new “radiant” foundations. Foundation should never have freaking shimmer in it, im sorry. Lol. Seriously cannot recommend this enough! Its a little pricey so i recommend going to Sephora or Ulta and asking for a sample/in store try on to see if it suits your skin type/coverage and finish preferences before purchasing.

It replaces the lid and I do not like the foundation all over the pump. I prefer just the bottle with no pump. The foundation is SPF and scent free.. The scent has a slight paint scent but thankfully no added perfume. I have sensitive skin and this does not bother my skin. The key for flawless application is skincare and a good primer. For more mature dehydrated skin this sinks into my pores of my cheeks and looks pitted and aweful. I had to switch my skincare to give me more hydrated base to get this foundation to look good on my over 40 face. It took me some time and practice to get this to look good on my skin, but it is worth it because the longevity is unlike any foundation. Once it is set into place, it does not move. This is a medium coverage to full coverage foundation depending on your application and amount used. I can get this to full coverage to hide my freckles and hyper pigmentation without looking cakey you can pile this on a spot that you want to hide and it will not look cakey even after 12 hours of wear. This is a matte foundation but it does not dry down, it remains tacky and sticky and requires me to set it with a powder.

Biggest advantages over some other products: - it plays well with most other products. I have layered this over and under numerous brands/types of complexion products and have never had issues with separation of pilling. I have also mixed it with other products (like moisturizer to sheer it, or color corrector to lighten it, other foundations), it is extremely tolerant and versatile. - application is pretty forgiving for a full coverage product. I often apply this product with my fingers, but have also had excellent results using a sponge or foundation brush, in my experience it not a type of product that requires super careful application to achieve a splendid finish. - the finish itself is goldilocks. It’s matte, but not too matte, and overall gives a natural, work appropriate look. - the shade range is fairly intuitively organized. I am pale and cool toned, and don’t have any issues with excess yellow/orange pigment with double wear the way I have with other complexion products. Cons - the pump cost extra - while the cost is worthwhile to me, it is on the expensive side of high end. However it does occasionally go on promotion. For reference. I am 35 years old with normal to combination skin, I rarely experience breakouts, but do have shine in the t-zone by the end of the day if I’m not using products. I have some redness on my nose and cheeks at times, and some darkening of the under eye, but otherwise my complexion is relatively even. I have minimal texture with visible pores on my nose/cheeks. I find this foundation leave my complexion even without exaggeration of texture/pores. My skin is cool and pale. I use the shade shell (but can get away with cool bone in the summer). Other foundation shades that suit me include Diors 0CR, Nars Oslo, and MAC N3 NW13.

I've gotten shade 4w2. This foundation definitely lives up to the hype of being long wear. I have oily , acne prone skin and this foundation really controls the oil well , doesn't break my skin out, and last very long. I have worn this on a plane ride, walking around in the heat, at work etc and my makeup still looks nice at the ended the day to where I dont even want to take it off. It also does go on the skin nicely as well, Probably one of the best foundations I have used. I'm looking for other foundations that work just as well and last just as long. Although It isn't completely transfer or sweat proof because whenever I sweat it definitely comes off but still last very long lasting in comparison to others. I do wish it was made more sweat proof though.

I don't think I will rebuy because of the guilt I have for doing that but that's another story.... Yes it's a good product and covers everything and will last. It's a better full coverage compared to say MAC (they also sell to China but I haven't purchased from them in a number of years) imo because MAC full coverage foundation looks cakey af on your skin despite me in the past having MAC mua do my makeup. Selling to China aside, I can give you a few reasons why I would not buy again. First they easily could have added a pump to the bottle! I resent having to buy my own pump from the company because they were too cheap to include it especially knowing how expensive the product is to begin with! I also found that for me I needed more product than I thought to give me full coverage. When I used very little, it was more medium coverage (I used a flat brush each time opposed to a sponge). I would not use this as a daily foundation and will only use it only if I know any other foundation is going to melt off my face or look like sh*t due to me getting wet (don't want to look like a wet dog when having sexy time in the shower). Lastly, while it's not a dupe in terms of ingredients, I found the Urban Decay Weightless Naked Foundation performs almost as good. I only say almost because while it give good coverage, it's not exactly as full coverage as the one from EL. The UD one also is truly cruelty free and frequently on sale for $10 so to me, you get more bang for your buck.

I've tried a lot of drugstore foundations and high end foundations, but never found one that I loved as much as this one. It has very buildable coverage and can be extremely full coverage with no cracking or creasing. I find it very hard to find foundation for my skin tone without it being too orange or too yellow, but Estée Lauder nailed this one. It has a huge shade range as well. I never have any slipping or disappearing once I put it on. The bottle is also gorgeous and looks so elegant. The bottle does not have a pumper or dropper. The spout is just an open bottle top but it is small enough to not let too much product out. A little goes a long way so it lasts a while.

When I wear it I always get compliments on my makeup, it makes all the difference in my full look. I’ve never tried this despite all the hype but decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! The coverage is perfect, they have a really good shade range, and it is definitely worth the money and hype.
