I've never been a full-coverage foundation kind of girl. My skin is generally pretty good, so I don't really need full coverage 99% of the time, and I hate how obvious (imo most) foundations look. I used to use the double wear light and liked it, though I found it to be ever so slightly too high coverage for me. If you're looking for good coverage, move along, you won't like this! It's also the first foundation I've tried that genuinely hasn't felt like I had anything on! I love that it has more skincare-oriented ingredients, and adds another layer of sun protection! If you have dry patches, it will cling to them a bit, but it's not super noticeable. I found this wore just as well as the double wear light - my forehead does look quite shiny at the end of the day, but that's just how my forehead is. It applies and blends really nicely with my sephora #56 brush. I roughly apply and spread it with my fingers first (to minimize product soaking into the brush) and then buff it in with the brush. Without a setting powder it will crease, but I found creasing to be extremely minimal with the kosas cloud set powder! It's definitely not mattifying enough imo for my forehead, but for the fine lines around your eyes and mouth, it's a perfect combination. Overall I really like this. I'm glad there are options out there for people who like sheer coverage! Don't hate on this product if you like good coverage - not everyone does! We light-coverage ladies need an option too :)

Best matte foundation

I am seriously in love with this foundation it is truly one of the best high end foundations I have tried. I am a full coverage type of girl and I like that this foundation goes a long way since it has coverage. It is medium to full but you can definitely build it up to your liking. Every time there's a perfect makeup, a company has to go and change the ingredients and mess it up. The price went up five more bucks, and this stuff, which used to be my #1, just isn't the same suddenly. It's greasy when it wasn't before. What was perfect for oily/combo skin wears off fast in the oily zone. And if you're someone like me who is working all day long and sweating in your tzone, you definitely don't want it separating on your face or transferring any time you try to dab your face with a paper towel. Why did they fix something that was never broken?! Nothing good ever lasts, they always try to cheapen it up and charge more. My holy grail foundation for 10 years!

I've used this foundation for roughly the last 10 years and no matter what I try, nothing compares to this. I'm combo oily and have lived in almost every climate imaginable, and this has held up to EVERYTHING. I once wore this to a foam party at a night club for well over 6 hours and with dancing, foam, and sweating it still looked flawless! It pretty much never separates on my skin even with my nose that gets oily and tends to break through every other foundation. It needs minimal primer and applies well no matter what you use to put it on. It's a buildable coverage that can be medium when sheered out with your fingers or full coverage with a brush. Less is more with this foundation, so I recommend getting the pump that they sell for it. Overhyped - Drug store is better

I’ve been using this foundation for over a year, so I definitely gave it enough time. Starting out with the cons, this foundation dries down extremely quickly to almost a powder like consistency. This is fine except for it makes layering other liquid products like concealer or blush over the top very difficult. You have to work quickly. If it dries down before you apply other liquid products, you run the risk of it lifting. I also find that the finish is too matte. It accentuates texture I didn’t even know I had. I actually prefer matte foundations to dewy finishes, but this one is too much. It feels very heavy on the skin as well. I've been using this for years! After trying every other oil-free brand under the sun, I still came back to Estee Lauder. For combination skin, this is a must try! 1. Even though it says full coverage, I have found that I can build it to be as light or as full as I want. I feel that no brand of makeup will cover up breakouts or blemishes completely, but this one does a good job. Also, as someone with rosacea, it's the best coverage I've found to balance out my skin tone. 2. I've never had issues with application, but it does dry/set quickly. I use a foundation brush and primer. For hot weather/active days, I use the mattifying primer from Estee Lauder. On other days/light makeup days, I use Smashbox Photo Finish. 3. I have used them in the past for long days out, but I never noticed a difference. Personally, I don't find the need for makeup to promise a 24-hour wear... but this one is definitely good for the normal waking day (about 12 hours or so). 5. I have never had any issues with it oxidizing, which can be challenging with combination/oily skin.

This is my go-to make up for the past 30 years. I am 66 now and although I have tried others in my lifetime I have always gone back to Estée Lauder because nothing compares to this amazing product! I did stop using the concealer when it started to crease underneath my eyes. I was so disappointed because that was my carry-on emergency trick and I never left home without it. I'm not sure if that was just a bad season for my skin but The truth is that every single concealer I've tried has also creased on me. So yeah I kind of have to Create my own little concealer baby and I just kind of build underneath my eyes very light but at least two layers. I never used foundation when i was younger because my skin was very good but now in my 50s I have some pigmentation from too much sun and late nights. this stuff was the first foundation I found recommended at the beauty counter and I loved it and used it for about 8 years now. it is oil free and feels very comfortable on top of a good slather of moisturiser without looking pancakey. my daughter in law envies how fast i can apply my foundation with a pooh sponge. she says it looks airbrushed.
