Ettore 48350 Bulb Changer Kit Without Pole, Blue

We have really high ceilings in our house and I hate tall ladders. A recessed floodlight recently burned out and I just couldn’t bear the thought of dragging my heavy ten-foot ladder upstairs and then perching on it to change a bulb that was supposed to last 20 years but only made it 3. The suction cup attachment, screwed on to the end of my extension pole, worked perfectly. Win!

Disappointed that the suction cup attachment didn’t screw on my old pole; the thread was too big on my old pole. Using the attachment they give you is no good either because it doesn’t lock in. I returned the kit and bought another kit and pole for $5.00 more

As other reviewers said, the set screw is worthless: the handle unscrews when trying to remove a flood light. I drilled the hole into the handle, installed a thumbscrew and now it works fine. Too bad that whoever designed the tool never tried to use it.

I bought this because I have an 18 foot ceiling and 2 lights had burned out. ( I already had an extension pole.) The bulb changer worked great. It was very easy to take out the bad bulb and install a new one.

Kit lacked suction cup; the holding screw could not be tightened to the pole tip enough so that the bulb couldn't be loosened and unscrewed. Exchanging the screw with a pointed tip solved the problem

I bought this kit to change light bulbs in an impossible to reach 20' ceiling. I had quotes from electricians and handyman to exceed $200 for changing them, so I thought I had nothing to lose by buying this kit. The light bulb kit was designed to hold the bulb tight, but gentle enough to not break, perfect design. The bulbs that were in there were smaller than standard light bulbs but the attachment I used fit perfectly. I used a painters pole to attach the bulb changer to it and I was able to reach up there and easily get all 6 bulbs changed without any issues at all! I was amazed at the ease of changing them out, no problem! Needless to say, they were changed with standard size LED bulbs. Now my issue is with the different light they put out... New design is worse

I had this set several years ago in yellow - now the updated set is in blue, but they made fundamental design flaw changes. First, all the pins holding the spring are not fully pressed down - so they catch on the inside of any cans / recessed lighting. The retractor gets caught in the can and then unscrews from the extension pole, leaving you with a stuck retractor in the ceiling can. Second design flaw is the Ettore pole/retractor set was supposed to use the Ettore "click" feature to keep it from unscrewing. No such luck, this is still using the same flawed thumbset screw that can't hold the tension - especially when the retractor gets stuck in the ceiling can.

Purchased this attachment to my Ettore extension pole. Tried to change light bulb using the basket. Removed the old bulb, installed the new one. When trying to get the basket off the bulb, the basket disconnected from the pole, stayed with the bulb 12 ft up. Had to climb the ladder to retrieve. For the second bulb I tried the suction cup and it worked fine.

Saved me a tricky ladder setup

Had 2 can lights over tricky stairs, bought this and put it on the end of a painter pole and it worked great. It is slightly cheaply built, but ~$17 (as of now) is fair.But be warned that because of the spring tension needed to hold and screw in the bulb (which can scratch plastic LEDs fyi), when you go to pull the fingers off the bulb it can pull some can light trims out of the ceiling! Thankfully I had a second pole available to put upwards pressure on the trim while removing the first pole

Nobody who lives here can climb to change a lightbulb. None of Bunnings, Beacon Lighting nor Medimart had heard of a tool to change light bulbs from ground level.I have used this tool to change both bayonet cap and edison screw lightbulbs.
