Eufy Robovac X8 Hybrid EU Robot Vacuum Bagless Black

(202 reviews)

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is more powerful than other Eufy robot vacuums thanks to the Twin Turbine technology. This technology enhances the air flow, which allows the vacuum to collect more dust in one go. You can control the robot vacuum via both the accompanying app and voice control. In the app, you can track the cleaning process, define areas, set up cleaning routines, and more. When the robot vacuum rolls over a carpet or rug, it adjusts the suction power automatically. Useful, because you can easily remove all the crumbs and pet hairs from your carpet. The vacuum also has a mopping function. With this function, it will clean the floor with a damp cloth after vacuuming.

Eufy nailed it again!

However, it didn't work so well on cleaning the hair as I expected. Moreover, it gets stuck by the circular bases of my floor lamp and bars stools all the time, which is quite annoying. In addition, this guy got a smooth move and has good obstacle avoidance ability. Even my friend (who is still a student driver) admits her turning skill is not as good as the robot. Also, the complex terrain is not a problem anymore. It can get over those round bases very easily. It does have a bit louder noise (due to its dual turbines I suppose) and is pricier than Roborock S6 pure though, I think it perfectly fits my needs as a vacuum robot helper and a good friend of my kitty. All in all, I give 5 stars for this purchase and will recommend it to all my pets' parents friends.

Been looking at these for quite some time. We have a handful of the Eufy cameras and love them so we decided to say why not to this. We considered a Roborock but they are just so darn expensive. I'm sure their great but I'm not ready to make that kind of a jump. This is a little higher than I'd like so it does get caught sometimes on certain parts underneath our couches but we ended up putting everything on sliders. The sliders raised everything enough so it no longer catches. Also, a little disappointed you have to 'prep' it before mopping or going back to vacuuming but we knew this before we bough it. I do enjoy everything about the app and schedules. Very useful. Easy to clean. The added hair cutter/brush that connect to the dust container is really convenient. ... MoreBeen looking at these for quite some time. It's the pedestrian programming. For starters, as far as I've been able to determine, it can't store two maps, so if it finds itself starting up in unfamiliar territory, it erases the old map and starts a new one. I, and many people I know, have a two story house. It will still clean two stories, but if you want to do a zone clean, you need a map first, and if you just cleaned downstairs, the map of the upstairs is gone, and vice versa so zone cleaning is limited to the floor most recently ... MoreThe device's LiDAR mapping prowess will floor you. How hard would it have been to include multiple map capability in the control software? As I said, normal maneuvering is good, but when the vac gets itself in a problem situation, it doesn't have much of an escape repertoire. My last vac was a random Roomba and it never got trapped unless it got wedged under low furniture and couldn't move, or if it got the brush snagged on a cord or a tassel. It seemed to have an endless set of combinations of moves in a tight space and would eventually escape. The Euphy, on the other hand, moved past the opening of a tight spot time and again, always executing a right turn, when a left turn would have extricated it. Eventually it gave up and asked for help which wasn't forthcoming right away, so to punish me, it erased its cleaning track record and had to go back over the whole room which is another bit of foolishness. Why keep the record indefinitely, or until it's manually reset. Finally, mine is an old house with thresholds between each room. The Euphy can easily climb over them and often does, but as often as not, when it summits a threshold, it decides to spin and often gets stuck, either against the door jam, or it hangs with one wheel on either side of the threshold. The rest of the technology is impressive enough that I'm not going to dump this thing, but I hope they read this and patch up my software because it has great potential.

This vacuum works well. Haven't used the mop feature as too many poor reviews.Pros. It did map out the house and pretty efficiently vacuumed the floor. Suction seems to be good although the dust bin is smaller than my G20. cleaning time is reduced as it runs a specific route through the house and doesn't wander around like a drunken sailor.Cons. I'm not yet convinced that this gets as much as my bump and fumble eufy. I had a small spot of debris on the floor before vacuuming and it was still there after it finished. The laser is good at mapping the house, but bedskirts befuddled this machine. Won't go under beds unless bedskirt raised. The laser makes the machine just tall enough to not go under my couches.I will give this machine a week and if I can't live with ... MoreThis vacuum works well. Read if you are torn between hybrid & x8

Read here if you: don’t know if you should get x8 or x8 hybrid, if you’re exhausted and need help with floor care & are tired of looking at reviews. I probably looked at all of them for you. This is the 3rd type of robovac I’ve owned. The first two were different coredy bumper vacs, with no lidar. For reference: I’ve 2 cats & 2 dogs. Our first two vacs would constantly get tangled with hair or fur, and would miss so much. I would have to run the machines 2-3 times in one area to get a clean that I was happy with. They also didn’t suction great; and I constantly was cleaning them. I would have to run the machines 2-3 times in one area to get a clean that I was happy with. They also didn’t suction great; and I constantly was cleaning them. Each one was an upgrade from the other, but it didn’t matter much.Eventually I stopped using my last one because it would beep error codes for no reason and I would have to rescue it from the middle of the floor with a clean tank & working brushes.Note: I take care of my machines. Maintenance is important; but shouldn’t be a headache or hassle.Fast forward about a year. I’m 32 wks pregnant with a toddler & haven’t swept/vacuumed/mopped in 10 days (mopping? Maybe a month). I’m exhausted & looked around my house and suddenly thought, “it’s time for another robovac”.Except this time I didn’t want the cheapest of the cheap. I wanted a midrange machine that actually did what it was supposed to & didn’t bump around aimlessly hoping to pick something up.I did TONs of research on roborok/neato/roomba/eufy/shark.I was between eufy x8/hybrid & the eufy L series w/ auto empty bin. Why? Roomba & the other vacs had horrendous or average reviews in the mid level ranges. I wanted a machine that was around 5 hundred, but if I could get it cheaper that was ideal. (Previously I spent $200 or less).Ultimately it came down to: eufy that self emptied w/mop, or eufy x8 hybrid with no self empty (maybe they’ll add that later). Why I went with eufy x8 hybrid:Eufy x8 had great reviews for pet fur due to the the 2,000 double turbine.Sure I would love the “self empty” dock available for the L series, but it wasn’t worth the extra money to me & the reviews for “pet fur” collection are better for the x8.Mopping reviews were mixed: some said it was good, some said it not so good. I chose the hybrid because I thought…nothing could be worse than what’s going on in my home now.***Here is my review on the x8 hybridIt’s amazing. All around amazing, however here are some tips I’ve noticed:First: do the initial LiDAR scan during the day w/ the lights on. It took me 3 tries: first was day, it saved & was good. Then I updated the firmware and lost my map (poo- sidenote update firmware before initial LiDAR) and then did another LiDAR at night. I noticed immediately there was a big difference in map quality, so I stopped it and redid it the next morning in the daylight. Now the map is near perfect.Vacuuming: it SUCKS. The suction is fantastic & I’m picky. I’ve got a mix of hardwood, rugs, and updated medium carpet. It actually vacuums all of the spots, as it has a map and doesn’t just bump around. There was also limited hair & fur tangles in the brush; nothing that would hinder the ability of it picking up messes (unlike my other vacs). It was insane to see how much was in the dustbin (blech).Mopping: I give the mopping a B & that’s awesome. Sure, a deep clean with a steam mop will be desired every once in a while, but holy wow I was surprised that this little mop actually did what it was supposed to, considering it’s not much of an attachment.Remember, it had been a looong time since my kitchen received a good mop. The picture I took was about 10 min after the cleaning w/ only using the x8 hybrid (no steam mop).I used a little solution, followed the directions and boom. *note set up for the mop took less that 30 seconds.I’m so happy with it…I was nervous that I should’ve saved myself the extra $100 and go with the X8- but I’m happy I went with the hybrid. It will save me headaches & if I go a month or 2 between deep cleanings it’ll be wayy less noticeable. It sounds gross probably for someone who steam mops every week, but I don’t have time or the energy for that atm & I need help.If you’re the kind of person who has very limited hard floors or loves mopping all the time, then no you probably don’t need the hybrid & should save yourself the money.*But if you’re like me and are at that “anything will be better than this” stage, then this will be a HUGE upgrade from what you had. I wouldn’t/can’t go back. I love this machine.*I will update this yearly, as longevity is something I also look for. There is a 12 month warranty with this machine, which is pretty good. Cheers.

Something will fail right after warranty is up
27 July 2022

I reached out to customer service when the WiFi pairing of my device (L70 hybrid) stopped working. When I try to reset the WiFi by holding both buttons, the light doesn’t even start blinking. It says “reset WiFi”, but the light doesn’t come on, and it’s not connecting to the WiFi (so it’s not just a faulty light). Customer service sent me the generic troubleshooting list, which I had already accessed on the Eufy website. My device was less than 15 months old, but since it was 2.5 months over warranty, they just kept saying there’s nothing they could do for me. They wouldn’t help me troubleshoot any further than their generic copy-and-paste list. They wouldn’t offer to repair it. I escalated the customer service ticket, and the manager of Customer Service contacted me and offered to give me a “VIP discount” on a new vacuum (their newest release, most expensive one), along with a free filter. When I looked that vacuum up, there was a promo going on for the general public right there on the web page that made the vacuum cost less than if I had used the so-called “VIP discount”. What a slap in the face for me. I guess they think their customers are ignorant. Before this incident, I was referring Eufy to everyone I know. We were actually about to buy an entire Eufy home security bundle system (Thank goodness we hadn’t yet!!). But about a week after this incident, my mother asked what brand of robot vacuum I recommended and I told her anything BUT Eufy! Why would anyone want to spend hundreds of dollars on a product that will last barely passed the warranty, from a company who’s customer service is less than helpful. We are switching to a different brand of vacuum and getting a full security system from a different, more reliable company.

Strong vacuum with mop of questionable utility
22 January 2022

There is much to like about this vacuum, including its map-building and no-go zones, as well as how much it sucks (hehe, never heard that one before I bet). You can adjust the suction power and intelligence in the app. It's quite a bit louder when you put it on max or do a spot clean. All that said, for my apartment, the mop function just feels useless. The mop is always in contact with the floor, with no retraction or shielding mechanism. Combine that with the fact that the base station only makes sense to place in a carpeted area in my apartment, and if I place the vacuum manually, it has to position itself, which can involve going up on the carpet, and the end result is that I have to manually intervene quite a bit to ensure it doesn't sully the carpet with the ... MoreThere is much to like about this vacuum, including its map-building and no-go zones, as well as how much it sucks (hehe, never heard that one before I bet). That's even with the no-go zones since it doesn't seem to know where to go or not go until it positions itself. And of course we're doing all this work for what amounts to a rag attached to the bottom of the vacuum to be dragged around. Given how involved it all is, and how small of an area I have to mop, I'd rather just wipe up manually as spills happen. But I still give the device 4-5 stars across its categories because I didn't buy it for the mop. I figured that part wouldn't be of much use to me. I bought this because the discounts currently being offered actually made the X8 Hybrid cheaper than the plain X8.Anyway, good little vacuum overall!

Tank broke after 4 months of use
11 January 2023

The vacuum part is good. The mop needs improvements.I had a problem with my original vacuum, so Eufy sent me a replacement in Aug 2022. I used the mop feature once in a while and in December 2022 I noticed the tank falls off. I reported to Eufy that the part which hooks onto the vacuum broke inside the water reservoir and the spring cannot retract properly to secure it in place. Eufy said that warranty on replacement vacuum is only 3 months and I have to buy a new water reservoir.I am debating whether to spend more $$ on it since the mop many times does the entire house and the reservoir is still pretty full. It doesnt let the water out even though I follow the instructions of using the Eufy brand cleaning solution and wetting the mop cloth properly.I will just ... MoreThe vacuum part is good. If you are thinking about getting this, just get the vacuum .

This thing is amazing
18 September 2022

Coming from an old vacuum robot that moved in random patterns this thing is awesome! It's cool to watch it scoot about while avoiding walls, etc. A few possible product enhancements: 1) Step-down detection. It'll very slowly move along steps trying to perform its circular object-avoidance dance. I figured out how to work around this by placing a virtual barrier in the app but it would be nice not to have to. 2) Small object avoidance. This little vacuum will happily bump and drag small objects that are too low for the lidar to see and to light too trigger the bumpers. 3) An automatic dust bin. I empty mine daily but it would be nice not to have to.Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Very reliable so far!

So far my X8 hybrid has been very reliable. I ran it the day after my 15C and it picked up quite a bit more dirt that the 15C left behind. The first time I ran it on the pure suction setting so it could quietly map out the downstairs. After it finished mapping and charged up I ran a few rooms with the mop pad. Considering it's a passive mop with no rotating brushes it did a pretty good job. I would recommend having a freshly vacuumed floor and a relatively clean surface prior to running this mop.The boxing and instructions with the X8 hybrid are quite good. They put a lot of thought into making sure the X8 wasn't damaged during transit. It paired easily on the first try, mapped with no issues, and I had no problem scheduling cleaning assignments. They put a lot of thought into making sure the X8 wasn't damaged during transit. It paired easily on the first try, mapped with no issues, and I had no problem scheduling cleaning assignments. Compared to the 15C and the 30C this is noisier, but I'd expect that with the twin turbines. I just schedule this to run while everyone is asleep to avoid the noisiness. The LiDAR mapping with border control works great. I setup virtual border lines in place of my magnetic lines and it didn't miss a beat. It also had no problems overlapping into my no-mop exceptions that I have setup. This vac goes to my bottom floor. While it has a continue after charge feature it ends up overlapping into when I start working. With the LiDAR mapping I've decided it would be better to just break down 2 rooms a day.If you have the older models and the work fine for you I'd say keep them for a few more years until the prices on these come down. However, if yours are worn out 'like all mine were' this is a definite upgrade. Eufy's support is world-class, everytime I've had an issue with one of their products they've taken good care of me, even out of the warranty period.Bottom line: I'd have no problems at all recommending the X8 hybrid to anyone with a larger floor layout that wishes to have mopped and accurate floor mapping without having to bother with magnetic border tape.
