I purchased this camera for outdoor security. It worked well for about 5 months and then stopped connecting to my wifi. I have another camera from the same company and have no issues with connecting. I contacted customer service to have it replaced since it is still under warranty and was told they could not help me since it was a wifi issue, which it clearly wasn't since I have no issues with any other devices. I went back and forth with customer service for weeks until they finally honored the warranty and sent a new one. Unfortunately, the replacement camera is refurbished, they couldn't even send a brand new camera which I find very deceptive as a business practice. Would never recommend or purchase from them again.

Overall reasonably priced. Several nice features that include an alarm to scare off intruders. A handy security camera that is pretty much self contained.Placement can be a challenge as the solar panel must remain totally exposed to sunlight to recharge the camera. Finding a location and trying to keep the camera somewhat concealed can be tricky. The battery life between charges have been very good so far. Overall the quality seems very good for an outdoor security camera.

We are very happy with this camera.I have multiple Kasa cameras that we use for indoor live monitoring. We were looking for a battery operated camera to use for outdoors (wasn't impressed with the Kasa options) and decided to give this a try. While mixing systems is something I heavily avoid, the Eufy security camera has been a delight. The motion detection is phenomenal and it is very easy to set up zones. We have a street and parking out from and I only receive notifications for individuals walking up the stairs.Notifications are immediate. There is close to zero lag (Something I experience with Kasa cameras. Kasa sends a notification after the action occurred).A known negative of this system, there no cloud storage. This is only a problem if someone steals your camera (all the files are saved in the camera). The advantage of local storage is that you don't have to pay a monthly cloud fee. One of the benefits of the Eufy system is that you may download files from the device remotely (which is a nice non-cloud service). The battery life is great. 2.5 months of use and we are at 40% battery. Zero complaints. Why 4 stars? I would give it 4.5 if I could'. And want to give it 5 stars. As a product, the camera deserves 5 stars. The app, deserves 3. The good: Notifications are quick, UI is Intuitive, and live streaming works well. The bad: viewing and downloading saved videos is a hassle. The quality is great, but it takes time and is very laggy. You need patience. Out of frustration, I set my camera up to auto save/ transfer events to a network drive that I have quick access too (but I know most people do not have this resource).Long story short, this is a surprisingly great camera. I will likely switch to Eufy security cameras going forward.

I purchased the E20 for my daughters apartment in Albany NY. She set it up and said it was super easy. I asked for still shots and I was disappointed with the image quality. Web page shows a women and dog that is crystal clear. Hers was grainy on both. I traveled to Albany to see first hand and wasn't impressed. Wifi strong, image quality set at best. I wanted to go with the E40 because of 2K, however, the specs were so close, I chose the E20's. Anyhow, the E20's were shipped back August 31. The new E40's are up and are clearly better. I did also purchase a solo indoor camera for her which she mounted on the wall pointing out a window to a sidewalk. Great image quality. We have several Eufy indoor cams inside our business for surveillance. We have them connected to backup batteries that will power them for days if someone were to cut the power off and try to break into our business (recording studio). We bought this because we needed to mount a camera up high in the stairwell at the entrance and there wasn't room for the backup battery, so it needed to have it's own built-in.This camera is great in every way EXCEPT for one big one. The motion detection doesn't detect fast enough. I have run past it several times on my way in and out of the studio to grab stuff. The main Eufy indoor camera in the control-room goes off everytime. After that, if I don't find what I'm looking for immediately and run back out, the second camera in the control-room will go off. This cam though, usually doesn't detect the motion unless Ionger long enough.I think it will do the trick once it's mounted though. The spot it is to be mounted in will have a wider view of the stairs, so it will have more time to detect. My complaint is simply that I'd like for this and every other camera to detect motion faster so that it would be impossible to enter without setting off ALL of the alarms EVERY time. Hopefully a firmware update will come that does the trick because we've got way too much money invested in Eufy to switch now.I'm going to have to buy motion detectors to remedy this issue and that's a problem seeing as how I bought this camera for that purpose.
So far, I have really enjoyed using these security cameras. The fact that they're wireless is super convenient, and the solar charging functionality provides continuous power so no need to worry about battery life. Love that there's no monthly fee - big saving there. The on-device storage and AI capabilities are neat features. The day and night clarity of the footage is commendable, and the easy installation was a bonus. Overall, these cameras have exceeded my expectations.
Bought this pair to replace a couple of put of warranty eufy cam pro 2 ans solocam s230 because of battery issues. So far, the solar panels on these are much better than the s230. They charge much better and hold charge longer, perhaps because of now spots. Regardless, these have much better detection smarts and range than the solocam s230 and the pro 2. Easy to connect and mostly reliable in detecting what I need it to with out too much false detections, I kinda of wish they had this cam with a little spotlight on it.
I purchased two of these cameras and outdoor installation took less than 10 minutes for each one. The one in the front yard is not in a great location (slightly under a rain gutter) and facing north in the midwest. I don't even have it set on optimal battery optimization and it still manages to get a full charge off of solar every day. I already had another Eufy indoor security camera, and it was super quick to pair to the wifi and get setup and running. I really like that there are no subscription fees for any core features right out of the box as well.
I started by buying one of these to test. I ended up buying 2 more after seeing how well it works. I wasn't looking for a full-blown security system and have no desire to pay a monthly fee. This fits the bill perfectly. Really easy to set up, and I'm extremely satisfied with the quality and reliability. I live in Minnesota so these are out in the COLD.Battery Life:Battery life has exceeded my expectations. I bought the first one on November 12 and just charged it for the first time after 2 months of use. The other 2 (triggered less often) are still over 50%. Not bad, given how cold it is here. To charge, you simply unscrew, bring them in, and charge like you would a phone. When motion is detected you'll receive a notification on your phone real time. Not sure how many files it can store, but I just paged back several weeks and they're all there.I'd say this is pretty amazing for free (no subscription). It's also very easy to quickly view each camera real-time, trigger an alarm, or speak through the camera. Through the app, you can also easily monitor the battery life from each of your cameras. Very pleased with this purchase, and highly recommend if you're looking to add some perimeter visibility minus the monthly fee.
Set this up for a friend. Her daughter is doing online learning, and is alone in the house for a few hours. The house has been broken into before in the day time, and there was a situation during the day when 2 teens were alone in the house and someone was trying to get them to open the door. I gave the teen the master control, then had her invite me to the "home". Now, we both get an alert if someone is at the door even though she's in the house and I'm 30 minutes away. I showed her how to trigger the alarm setting. Her mom will get invited as well, so now at any time there are 2 adults that will be notified if someone is at the door, and she will know as well, plus there's a recording in high resolution. Hoping they go on sale again, so I can order a few more.
