Install was very simple. I didn't cut the breaker to wire it up it's such a small amperage. The build quality feels solid and the app is very well laid out.The only issues I have are:- There is no flexibility on the "sensitivity" of motion detection or human detection toggling. Everything remains the same. Our unit has had many false recordings, thinking the clouds are humans or a couch cushion is a human.- There doesn't seem to be any firmware update checks pushing to the device itself, which is a bit weird. So potentially no optimization there.Otherwise a fine product. I got it on a lightning deal for 100 bucks. Definitely go with wired connection at the doorbell.

We are entirely pleased with this doorbell. When our old, regular doorbell died we wanted one with video capability. After researching, we selected the Eufy due to positive Amazon and Internet reviews and no subscription needed. The doorbell is everything advertised. It was simple to install. The hardest part was drilling through our brick wall to mount it. The video is clear, the sound and quick responses are the right volume and the settings are easy to make. Our one issue is that we are still tweaking how to not get alerts for insects and passing cars in the night. However, the daytime activity area works perfectly. This is an excellent product and very well priced!

One of my main reasons for buying this is the fact that it does not require subscription service. The unit is slim enough and seems to be built well enough. The mount is not as snug though. I was expecting when they say it will "click" onto the mounting base...that it would click better than it actually did. It is a little too easy to unhook off the base in my opinion. The instruction vid online was clear enough. Installation was simple enough. I did have to make a custom riser/spacer because the space I wanted it to fit was not wide enough without a spacer. The one supplied is just an angled with a tiny bit of rise to it but not enough to clear the fancy molding around my door. If they gave a spacer of maybe a half inch and inch, I think it would be a comprehensive ... MoreOne of my main reasons for buying this is the fact that it does not require subscription service. The mobile app is featureful. Not too simple but not overly complex so I like it. Supposedly you can have to work with Alexa, Google home and another main app I can't recall the name right now...but I haven't tried. I just stuck with the Eufy app. Maybe later when I feel more adventurous but for now I'm good with the separate app.

Camera Rating (Picture Quality): 4/5Artificial Intelligence: 2/5Doorbell: 1/5Overall: 3/5- The features on this doorbell camera are great, but the execution requires refinement.Improvement Areas:- The Artificial Intelligence seems to have logic that is overly sensitive when it should be less sensitive and not sensitive enough when it should be more sensitive. For example: When package delivery professionals approach my door, the camera will occasionally miss their face(s) despite the fact that the camera is "always on" and the drivers are often approaching my camera/doorway in a straight line, in clear view of the camera. This is disappointing. Alternatively, the AI captures non-human objects and sends alerts to me about these objects when there is literally ... For example: When package delivery professionals approach my door, the camera will occasionally miss their face(s) despite the fact that the camera is "always on" and the drivers are often approaching my camera/doorway in a straight line, in clear view of the camera. This is disappointing. Alternatively, the AI captures non-human objects and sends alerts to me about these objects when there is literally no movement occurring in front of the camera, except for maybe tiny specs of dust or small bugs in the vicinity of the camera - nothing "human sized", despite the sensitivity of the camera being set to only alert when a "human body pattern" is detected.- The doorbell chime is useless (for me). If you need the chime to work consistently and without false alerts, this might not be the right device for you. Personally, I don't get a lot of people ringing my doorbell for anything important, so this is an inconvenience; not a deal-breaker.- I can't plug in the chime without having all of the other RF 433Mhz electronics in my house create [seemingly random] false alerts that trigger the wireless chime to "ring" when no one is pressing my doorbell at my door.- I contacted support, tried moving the doorbell to every corner of my house, tried resetting the entire system multiple times, tried re-seating the doorbell, tried re-setting the connection/bypass at my old doorbell - all with no success; I continued to get false alerts. I even received a new doorbell from Eufy (Solid Customer Service!), and the same false alerts continued. Why RF 433Mhz was used by Anker/Eufy (other than to skimp on cost) escapes me. After some web searching, I learned that this is one of the most common RF bands and is therefore prone to significant interference.Other Comments:- The 2k video is nice.- The zoom image quality isn't as good as I had expected, but I'm sure this can be chalked up to my own "user error" or "too high of expectations" or "environmental factors" - there is nothing wrong with the quality, I was just expecting something better.- The two-way audio works great.- The doorbell button works fine (ignoring the chime interference problem for a moment). Also, I love the fact that there are no subscription requirements - for now? (I see subscriptions offered now in the App and that makes me hesitant about the future). If software improvements can be pushed to improve the AI, this could easily jump to a 4/5 or 5/5.If the chime is upgraded to not receive interference and send false chimes indicating that someone is at the door when no one is there, this could move up to 4/5.
Install is pretty straight forward. Purchased one then afterwards two more for relatives. 2 Units work perfectly the third unit is hit or miss on motion detection and the camera is fuzzy in one corner but overall very satisfied with first camera doorbell. And no subscription fees. The app has been getting better but still would like some other features. For price/value I would purchase this over the dual camera version. Dual camera has some neat features but doesn't have the same app controls as "single" camera.Wish List:- additional mount that points down and in- record to NAS or ability to back-up to NAS (doesn't have to be "live")- add-on camera doorbell that doesn't require Homebase- LED light similar to Dual camera doorbell
Pros:- Local storage captures full event- Resolution and Camera picture quality are pretty good- Supports HDR- Doesn't overly push their cloud offerings.- FOV is pretty wide- Captures and sends snapshots of face in push notification.- onboard person detection works wellCons:- local storage is 4gb of onboard storage (not Micro SD Card)- local storage not expandable- no custom ringers on the plug in chime- Alexa didn't recognize it as a doorbell, which means it won't show video when someone rings the bell.- 2 way audio is pretty bad quality, seems to suffer from bad reverb for doorbell pushers. The audio sounds robotic and tinny.- Notifications can be a little slow.- body is made of plastic, wish it felt more premium.I had the ring pro, wyze and ... The audio sounds robotic and tinny.- Notifications can be a little slow.- body is made of plastic, wish it felt more premium.I had the ring pro, wyze and finally the Kasa 2k doorbell (which was half the cost), but I have to say this has been the best all around doorbell camera we've had. I was hoping to stay in the TAPO/TP-LINK lineup so we wound't have to get another app, but the Kasa one made us get a separate app anyways, artificially limited features on that one made it non-competitive.
We have daily issues with the doorbell. It's set to only 50% sensitivity and it identifies cats trees and cars as humans. If we lower the sensitivity further it misses alerts for humans. We've contacted support multiple times and simply receive no help. Eufy blames the poor AI on a 3rd party they source it from. Instructions tell us to trying moving the doorbell to a new location. Seriously? Eufy has many quality products but I'd avoid this one. Or perhaps we simply received a bad unit and seem to be stuck with it.
We've had continued issues with the motion detection. About 10% of the time we don't get alerts for humans at the door. This is likely caused by us having to reduce the motion detection sensitivity due to the AI identifying the neighborhood cat as a human, sometimes 10 times in an hour timeframe. Supports only recommendation is to reduce sensitivity but that reduces motion alerts for humans. Sometimes, it identifies a tree across the street as a human and also the bushes in our yard about 20 feet away. Eufy blames the poor motion detection AI on a separate group not affiliated with Eufy. Extremely frustrating to have such an inaccurate motion detection/security solution for our doorbell.
So here is the deal, now that our doorbell is installed, we love it. The app is user friendly and the set up was dang simple…. The issue I had was the install between the mounting bracket and the doorbell itself. The bracket has three latches, two at the top and one at the bottom. You slide the top two notches on the camera into the mounting bracket and then the bottom snaps into place. The notches at the top of the camera were molded with too much material on them and the doorbell couldn’t snap into place with the mounting bracket. After about an hour of profanity, I finally gave up. Then I had the idea to use my desk mounted belt sander to grind down the top latches. After about 20 seconds of grinding, I tried it again and it popped right into place with that ever ... MoreSo here is the deal, now that our doorbell is installed, we love it. The only issue I had was the fact that there wasn’t quality control for the bracket to the camera is beyond me.
Had to replace a skybell camera/doorbell. Side note don’t buy a skybell. I was forced to because it works with alarm.com. The skybell has no compatible digital chime and the text/alert on phone was abysmal.Bought this hardwired version Eufy and am very happy with it. Digital charm works well and relay to phone is timely. I didn’t do an organized comparison of video quality but the Eufy is on par or better than the skybell.I will probably buy Eufy stand-alone cameras to replace my current cameras.I’m not sure if my footage is going to China or not but at this point I don’t care.
