Installation was rapid and easy, 2 screws attaching the mounting plate to the door frame and it then snaps and locks in position. You need the special tool to release the camera from the mounting plate. I recommend that you start and connect the doorbell to the home base first and then check out the camera coverage to find the best angle by holding the doorbell in different possible mounting locations. After loading the Eufy app on my phone and following the setup instructions it was a very straight forward process to add the doorbell and set up its parameters. Resolution is more than adequate. I wanted to upgrade from the unit I had as it was cheap and poor quality. I had spent sometime researching video doorbells and found that for value and quality for price the Eufy was the best suited. Install was very easy due to the fluent instruction manual that was clear and direct. Illustrations helped, especially seeing my front door is angled to the alcove and the extra mounting brackets that came with the doorbell made mounting efficient so camera covers the whole alcove. I have hard wired the power on mine eliminating having to remove for charging. Unit has a good range and signal. The picture is very clear and detailed even at night.

Bought this doorbell for the local storage and not having to pay for a subscription service each month. The doorbell itself is easy to setup and battery life is good also. So far it's only missed a few motions and does well in detecting most movement. You can set it up at different sensitivities for all motion or human motion only. Keeping in mind the more sensitive you set it the more it can drain the battery. The customer service department is ok. Usually you send and email and they respond to you with any questions you might have. LlI've had this unit for about a month now so hoping that it lasts the distance and sofar pretty happy with it.

Eufy Video Doorbell - Would Recommend
14 July 2021

Firstly, very easy to install & set up. Picture and audio work well and notifications come through very quick. Have had a slight issue with drop out when speaking to someone via the video & phone, I believe Eufy are aware and are updating software. Now battery life, will last a while if used on very basic setting with no notifications or video, just doorbell mode only. But when used to it’s full potential the battery seems to be draining quiet quickly, after 14 days use, battery is at 50% from fully charged. This is on human detection only, with customised options. The fewer options you have running the more the battery will last. I’m fine with that as it’s very easy to charge it up again. If this bothers you then probably eat to go with the wired option. Eufy doorbell 2K wireless
24 March 2022

I do like this product however the alert that are supposed to let me when people walk past the doorbell appear random. Sometimes it does and others it doesn’t eg. I received a call from my daughter from inside the house but I didn’t receive a detection notification to say that someone had been near the front door even though that’s the only way to enter. A few days ago I did 3 out of the 4 times that she visited. So it appears random. One time I received a detection notification when none was there. I’m sure that I have set it up but maybe I haven’t. I will check this out. What I do like is that I can see real time vision of what is happening at my front door from anywhere in the world at anytime.

Good solution, with some minor flaws
31 May 2022

Quite acceptable 2K footage and infra-red at night-time. No subscription and ongoing costs as footage is stored locally, in the Home Base. Dialogue performance over the app with home WiFi is a delay of about a slow echo's duration not more than a second or so. I haven't used it remotely. The doorbell button confuses many of our visitors though they don't seem to realise that it is in fact, a doorbell button. The Eufy app window in Mac OS won't allow expansion or scrolling like a 'normal' window, to see more thumbnails of all the videos on a busy day, which means one can't check for example, that all the videos from a given have been downloaded. Can scroll in iPad app. There's no facility on the Mac OS app to delete the videos, either I have to do that on my iPad, ... MoreQuite acceptable 2K footage and infra-red at night-time. A few events are going unrecorded altogether and some of the recordings are too short, stopping in the middle of the action. It could be that I need to tweak the settings some more. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and I think it's as good as one can do without buying a system that requires subscription and ongoing costs.

Gr8 Video Doorbell, local vid storage, gr8 quality
20 November 2021

Very good product. Easy to install, and the Eufy Software is some of the best home automation software I've used. It just works and the setup is very smooth. Also, the thing that perhaps isn't advertised as clearly as it could be is that the Homebase is an internal chime as well. The only minor gotcha when setting up, is making sure the person who sets it up invites other people in the house so the can "see" the devices already setup in the house - the homebase and doorbell once their Eufy account is set up - otherwise they won't "see" the devices. The other good thing about this combo, is that you can add other Eufy Security devices compatible with the Homebase, such as wireless cameras, which makes this product really good value. Highly recommended.

Slow to respond. Misses events
3 December 2021

I had high hopes for this unit but it has not delivered. It has quite a long delay before it starts recording events. 5 or more seconds which means it totally misses someone walking into the driveway and records after they are out of the view of the camera. It misses multiple events even when on the highest sensitivity setting. So I can walk or drive into my property without being recorded. Funny though it seems to capture me leaving the property. When the doorbell is rung it takes more than 10seconds to come through to my phone. So no where near quick enough to engage in a conversation with the visitor. And yes my base station is close to the front doorbell. I really wanted to love this product. But am disappointed.

The best available for a google smart home, but not a seamless experience
10 June 2021

Video quality and build quality is good. The short snippet recordings sent to your phone with a thumbnail are useful during the day. However if you have a lot of movement at the front of your house the battery will drain very quickly. A non-replaceable battery means you have to remove the entire unit when recharging. If you have weatherboards that are not perfectly vertical, it will result in the camera angle facing up slightly. Streaming to a google home smart display is too long to be of use in a small or medium sized home (quicker to walk to the door). The chime on the homebase is very loud, and duplicate chime on the phone is useful too. Worked well for about 9 months, then issues
4 June 2021

Worked well for about 9 months, then issues. It had good wifi connectivity, good clear images and recording and then suddenly started dropping the wifi connection (no matter how close I placed the router). Firmware updates didn't help. I tried downgrading to previous firmware, still no better. Tried resetting and configuring in a different household (different router setup and area). Still couldn't connect and when it could , it dropped out and was useless. Battery performance was poor as stated by many reviews. I think I got 2-3 weeks maximum (with movement defection on). Warranty expired, now stuck with a fancy brick.
