I had bought another very popular set of security cameras cheaper in price but it would not notify me when someone was at my door. So I return them once I tried getting tech support to help and they told me it would take 7 business day to figure out what was wrong with them. After doing more research I found this guy on YouTube that test out cameras. He gave this one a great review. Yes it was a little more pricey than the first set I returned from another company but you get what you pay for. These are perfect and so easy to install and I haven’t had any issues getting the feed. I have control of saving the clips or deleting to make room for more videos. So far “I love it” and it has no delay on notification. It also identifies if it’s a person or an cat. I read on reviews that the home base needs to be close to both cameras but since my home is 1400 sq ft I placed the home base some where in the middle of the house and it works perfectly. Another great feature is you don’t have to pay monthly to get your videos like other camera systems. If you decide to pay monthly its $2.99 or $9.99 per month unlike other security cameras. I highly recommend it.

I purchased 2 eufyCam 2s and an add-on doorbell that works with the same Homebase. This is a very good set of security equipment. All three were easy to install, and the video quality is quite good. The field of view is wide (some fisheye-distortion, as expected), and the night vision work well. There is some lag with the motion detection, but we'll see if the cameras miss any important action. What I really like is the software that manages the scheduling. I don't need the cameras active during the day when we're in the driveway or back yard. I was able to set up two intervals, one during the day for just the doorbell, and another at night for all three cameras to be motion sensitive. We'll see if the camera batteries last an entire year. With it connected to the wiring, it activates the mechanical chime in my house, so I disabled the Homebase chime which is redundant. We have a nice mechanical chime, so this was an important feature to me.Having all the video data local instead of in the cloud, and thereby avoiding monthly subscription fees is the key feature for this system. Overall I'm very impressed for what this system does for the price.

I purchases the Arlo Pro 2 because it was well rated and Arlo has been around awhile. I was also interested in the Eufy having previous purchased a robovac and found it quite good and Eufy was extremely responsive to my inquiries. I judge both systems to be easy to set up, the apps were similar and intuitive. Mounting either cameras is simple enough. The Eufy cameras are larger due to their bigger batteries with a once a year charge potential, versus 6 month for the Arlo. Range from the base station is roughly comparable with the edge to Eufy. The Arlo base station performed better if you moved it around even a small amount. Walls, door or other obstructions seemed to affect the Arlo more. Where your base is located will have a major bearing on this. In my home the base station is located at the rear of a large home and is abut 75 feet from the front door camera and 12 feet from the backyard camera. Both systems are made of excellent material. Both systems were on sale when I bought them but I believe the Eufy was a new model and the Pro 2 was not the most current model. From looking at all the reviews of models that were out a year or less, Eufy buyers seemed to rate theirs higher than other systems for various reasons. The way technology advances so rapidly even six months can result in notable improvements.

After reading reviews I was very excited to get these cameras. After less than a year I would say that they are just OK and next time I'll probably go with a hard wired system. The cameras have a good picture, motion detection works most of the time although a lot of times you only catch the very end of the motion or sometimes people just appear on the camera with no warning as they approached. The cameras are sturdy and survived a CAT 4 hurricane although previous days of video disappeared when the power went out and was restored. The biggest drawback is that in 10 months I have charged 2 of them 4 times and the other two twice. We have tried all of the suggested adjustments and still the batteries run down and we are not in a busy area. Also have had issues of getting the cameras back online after charging. I am seriously thinking about returning these cameras before the year from purchase is up.
I pretty much love eufy cameras, needed cameras pronto because 2 goons, one of which only spoke Russian, came by posing as sears appliance people who took apart mom’s fridge and said they would come back when parts come in. Meanwhile real sears guy shows up the next day fixes it says the other guys were a scam! I bought different eufy cameras bec I knew I needed something up and running now, and the wireless would take time to charge. Needless to say the range and clarity is great, and if the bushes are waving or the cloud covers the sun it will not alert me like arlo does. It only alerts when a human is close by. But if the person is way out in the street it will not alert. Also want manual to show what each button is for vs me having to press to find out what happens. I’m afraid to touch alarm, bec not sure if it will set it off or if it’s to arm.
I purchased the Security eufyCam 2 Wireless Home Security Camera System exactly a year ago - so at the time of this review I have one years worth of feedback.Overall - I am very happy with this camera and I recommend this product.Pros:No wires and clean connection - I live in a 160 year old house with thick stone walls and no exterior outlets. This product solved my problem to have security cameras with no drilling or wires. I set one camera by the front door and the second camera by the back door. Installation is fairly simple but requires drilling two mounting screws into the exterior wall. The cameras have to be mounted 6-9 feet up in order for the faces to be captured and for scanning. Installation is fairly simple but requires drilling two mounting screws into the exterior wall. The cameras have to be mounted 6-9 feet up in order for the faces to be captured and for scanning. Since this works on battery and not wired...if the power in the house turns off it still provides security and notifies your phone.Notification - I get notification on my phone within three to four seconds of anyone person or motion - so almost instant notification. I can set my zones so that cars passing on the street do not trigger an alert. I can also set my sensitivity so that not everything passing by my set zone triggers an alert. The system is smart that I can set it to human detection and/or all motion detection. 100% of the time I do get human notification and cars pulling into my driveway, however occasionally in the middle of the night I get notification of small animals, spiders, and sometimes heavy snow flakes during strong winds (I have reduced the sensitivity and haven't received any of those alerts recently). There is also theft detection alerts if someone tries to remove the camera and also you can set the base unit inside the house to alert for motion in any particular camera. There is also a red light notification on the camera which can be set on or off to show visitors that the camera is recording. The cameras also have a audio siren alert to notify intruders that can be turned on or off - the camera intruder audio alert is very loud and there is no way to control the loudness of the camera intruder audio siren alert but you can turn it on/off/or snooze.Video quality - Excellent day time video quality with 1-2 second delay. Night vision (black & white) is acceptable quality. The human detection also takes a picture of the face when detected. Videos are uploaded and saved for a period of time (although not forever).Audio quality - Below average quality for live two way audio communication with visitors - but good audio quality for one way recording when it is saved. For live two way audio with visitors there is a delay and it is not the same experience as talking on a walkie-talkie. I assume the quality of the internet has something to do with it. Fortunately I purchased this primarily for the video surveillance - which is excellent.App - The phone app is great. You can set all alerts and notifications. There is a snooze timer you can set so that no alerts or sirens are activated if you need to do back and forth work in front of the camera.Charging - This is a battery device and requires charging. Although it's advertised as 365 day battery life (this must be in a lab environment in Florida weather) it certainly is not the case in Canadian weather. The front door camera gets activated most and requires charging every 4 months in Canadian winter and perhaps every 6 months in summer. The backyard camera hardly gets activated and requires charging every 6-7 months in Canadian winter. The mounting and unmounting is simple and charging is on the base unit which can be done overnight which will then last me the next 4-7 months depending on how cold or warm it is outside and how often it gets activated.Cons:As mentioned needs to be charged every 4-7 months in Canadian weather conditions. Charging to 100% can be done overnight.Internet Wifi - It is limited to the strength of your internet coming from inside the house to the outside of the house so depending on how far your modem is and the internet strength it will not work in some exterior areas of the house. I have good connection from 40 feet of my modem on one side of my house where there is only an exterior wall (2 feet thick stone wall), however 40 feet from the other side of my house has internal partition walls, kitchen plus exterior wall that my modem and internet connection is not able to connect to the camera on the outside of my house.Overall after one full year of use in Canadian winter weather I would buy this product again and would recommend it to my friends. In fact I was so impressed with the Eufy brand that I just ordered a Eufy vacuum robot.
Just installed a new Eufy Cam2 setup with the home-base and 2 cameras. This is my first time using Eufy's security system and it has only been installed a few days. The installation is easy and well designed. It takes 4-8 hrs to charge a camera, depending on method of charging. One camera, on my garage, has a direct line of sight to my home-base which is 50-60 ft away. The other camera is 20 feet away from my home-base and the signal has to go thru one outside wall. Signal strength indicators from each camera (on the app) show a strong signal. Very happy with the iPhone app as it's well designed and works flawlessly. The other camera is 20 feet away from my home-base and the signal has to go thru one outside wall. Signal strength indicators from each camera (on the app) show a strong signal. Very happy with the iPhone app as it's well designed and works flawlessly. When the system detects motion, it takes 3-5 sec to get a motion alert when I'm at home using my home wifi network. Not sure how long it would take for alerts to reach me when I'm traveling, but this is dependent on the internet's ability to get the signal to me, which isn't Eufy's fault. The 1080P picture quality is very good, but not excellent and not good enough to make out license plates on cars 25-30 ft away. I suspect I would have to go to a 4K WIRED system for better picture quality. I'm guessing sending 4K signals over a wireless system would be very slow, since a 4K image is 4x bigger than 1080P. Night vision is average to good. Don't expect a lot of detail from night images, but it does pick up acceptable detail in a very dark environment. Motion detection, after tweaking the settings, seems to be very good. However, I live in the Pacific Northwest where it drizzles often. Since Eufy's motion sensor is based on heat, I suspect our rainy climate will cool items down and not trigger the PIR (Passive Infrared) motion detection system. This is probably true for all PIR security systems- which I think the majority of security systems use. So, I can't fault Eufy as this is the state of the technology today. No idea how battery life is going to live up to the 365 day claim. But, even if it's only 180 days, that's acceptable to me. I like the fact that my images are stored locally and can be downloaded onto my iPhone instantly. I would hate to be forced to purchase cloud storage from a security provider only to see that vendor go out of business and render my system useless. The downside to local storage is that the home-base could be damaged or stolen by an intruder--thus making your images unavailable. I would purchase this security system again and believe Eufy offers a very compelling solution for the price. If you want better image quality from any security vendor, you might have to go to a WIRED, 4K system, which negates the advantages of wireless.Update: It's now been 2 months since I installed this system and I'm very impressed. Good quality images, good motion detection, battery seems to be still well charged. I like the Eufy app. Very easy to use and intuitive. When my subscription to my Ring doorbell expires, I'm going to seriously consider replacing it with Eufy technology. The quality of the Ring video is poor compared to Eufy.
This camera set is really easy to set up and install because it has wireless features that include two types of mounting brackets (Magnetic mount (2pcs), screw mount (2 pcs)). It has included the sticker that mentioned that area is protected by the camera. it comes with reset pin which helps to reset the camera in case of troubleshooting the issue for the future. It has one base station and two cameras which can be paired up to 16 cameras. we can connect up 8 base stations in the one eufy account. It has smart image enhancement features that manage by their built AI technology that identifies the human face and focus on that. It also has PR detection which reduces the false alarm like tree moving, pets, or other objects is non-human. One feature that I really like for activity zones which allows us to select a custom area from the camera view and only send the alerts if something moves from that detection zone. It has two-way audio which helps to speak a person outside of the door. It has the capability to connect the good assistance and amazon voice assistance to manage it. it has a high level of a 256-bit encryption system that protects the footage from the hacker or other non-authorized users who do not have access to it.It has three different modes of Optimal battery life which help to save the battery and do not trigger more frequently. The second mode is Optimal Surveillance mode which mostly uses to long capturing mode. The third mode is custom recording mode which allows you to select up to 120 seconds video length. It also allows us to choose motion detection sensitivity from 1 to 7 level where 7 is the highest sensitivity. One of the best-hidden features it has that base station also works as the repeater mode which helps to extend the wireless connection in the house. The base stations do not support the Micro SD card. However, it comes with built-in 16GB memory. It also has a USB slot that will support additional USB storage in the future. After installing the camera, one in the front of the house and another in the backyard. I have trees in my backyard that sometimes give false alarm due to leaves moving or shadow. I have also noticed some issue to detect hum after little delay and only detect the camera when human is coming straight to the camera angle. If I walk fast and not run, then it still missed so much activity and capture sometimes when I come very close to the camera or camera skip it. Due to poor motion detection range, it fails to do its job properly because the might have pass form the area.Overall, it is built with good quality but motion detection should improve in future updates.
Starting out with the setup it was easy but time consuming. To sum up the setup I plugged in the base and then synced each camera separately through the app. I chose to mount the cameras by my front door and back door. Looking at each of my cameras views I got a pretty good coverage of the surrounding area. More than I expected to be honest. As for viewing the cameras through the app the resolution is actually really good not super HD but enough that everything is visibly clear. Zooming in though on the camera is actual greater than I expected it starts to get blurry but you can still visibly make out things when zoomed in. Focusing on the camera now so since this is a rechargeable camera it saves battery by not running 24/7. Zooming in though on the camera is actual greater than I expected it starts to get blurry but you can still visibly make out things when zoomed in. Focusing on the camera now so since this is a rechargeable camera it saves battery by not running 24/7. Hence it gets activated when it detects motion. Motion detection on here from my use worked perfectly. Once the camera detects motion it starts recording and alerts you through the app. You can actually customize in settings how long you want it recited once it detects motion. You can also create zones of activity for the camera to focus on. Theres also a security alarm that you can set to go off when it detects motion. For the sake of the mailman and delivery guys I kept mine off. But you do have the option to turn it on anytime from the app in case you did see someone you didn't know through the app Nd wanted to scare them. As for the app its very user friendly. The layout is great and I didn't have any problems figuring where anything was in the app. Overall it's a great security camera if your wanting basic security as in things like knowing when someones around or not. The only downside is this does not cover 24/7 feedback because it's a rechargeable battery it. Overall, though it is a great camera all around and I have found it to be useful to have around just for alerts when someones is outside or a package was delivered.
The eufyCam 2 Pro kit is now a welcome addition to our home. There have been several occasions over the past year or two where we wish we'd have had cameras recording the events happening around our home. This kit takes care of this simply and easily. The kit arrived and we unpacked the contents. It was quick and simple to connect the HomeBase 2 to our wireless router. There are included directions that are very concise and easy to follow.Once the HomeBase 2 was on our network, it quickly connected and was managing it with the EufySecurity app. Around 10 minutes later, the HomeBase 2 had it's firmware updated and were were scanning the QR codes on the eufyCam 2 Pro cameras to add them into our eufy ecosystem. Again, around 15 minutes later, the cameras we're configured, charging to 100% battery and updated to their latest firmware. The next day, we mounted both of the cameras using the outdoor mounts close to our home's doors. This might seem a bit wordy, but it's really a simple installation for these cameras. It really helps to have a ladder or a step-ladder when mounting the cameras to be safe. The guide recommended a 15/64 drill bit for use with the anchors. We did not need the anchors and a 5/64 drill bit worked to make the holes needed for the screws to mount to. Please do not skip this step as it really makes mounting the outdoor bracket so much simpler. Thankfully, if you look through the packet of papers, you'll find guide stickers for both the indoor and the outdoor camera mounts. We used the outdoor sitckers to know exactly where to drill. If you lost yours, use a sharpie and the current mounting base to mark where to drill. After the holes are drilled, it's just a matter of using a philips head screwdriver (or in our case a screw gun) to set the screws. Refer to the guide (available online if you lost your paper copy) for proper assembly of the camera once mounted. After gathering the required tools and selecting the ideal locations for the cameras, installation per camera only took about 10 minutes per camera. The EufySecurity app had another handy feature when determining where to setup the cameras. For each camera, there is a mounting tool that offers suggestions along with a live view of what the camera is recording and the connection strength to the HomeBase. This was put to good use when we were trying to determine where the cameras should go. With the app, you can configure alerts to come in when someone comes into range of the camera. There's so many options that we're still going through, but it's seriously impressive what we've seen so far. Not have to run wires was BY FAR the best part!
