I have these on my SJC and DW kits. They sound awesome, with a clean, clear tone. Easily tunable in a wide range as well. They have just the right balance between punch and warmth to suit a variety of musical styles.

Ok, first off, I'm not a drummer. Just a Guitar player who likes having something else to beat on once in awhile. So, I replaced cheap heads on a low end kit that we use for band practice. The new heads were easy to put on, and really improved the sound of this lower priced kit. A pretty simple fix. And our regular drummer will be a lot happier at our next band practice! Totally satisfied with these skins!

Do yourself a favor, and swap out your generic heads that come with your kit, for a set if G2s..... you'll thank me!I love these drumheads. I think they sound great, look great, and are very durable.Sound: They are warm, and deep sounding, at least the way I tune them. I like a very low pitched tom sound, and these allow me to get that sound, without the rumble that you get from lesser heads. The toms still sing with these heads, but the coating offers just the right amount if control. Ths keeps me from having to use any muffling what-so-ever.Look: The coating is very bright white..... whiter then some of the competitors heads. The coating also lasts quite a long time.Durabilty: These heads last a long time. I have had problems denting single ply heads even ... MoreDo yourself a favor, and swap out your generic heads that come with your kit, for a set if G2s..... you'll thank me!I love these drumheads. These double play heads prevent that from happening.Overall.... these heads go great with all kinds of drums. I've used them on maple, birch, poplar, walnut, cherry, mahagony, steel, brass, aluminum, and a few other kind of drums with no problems.

The quality of the heads are great with the exception of the collar. They seem to be a hit and miss situation whether you need a hammer to get them in the rim or they fall in like they should. When they fit they sound great, stay in tune, and are very durable. However they are not worth a shiny penny if they don't fit properly. My drums are true to size and perfectly round that is not the issue. All other manufactures heads i have tried fit great everytime. This has only started occuring in the last few years and primarily withy 12" and 16" sizes. My money will be spent on another brand until i am convinced they have fixed there issues.Features that cant be used are really not features are they? The defintion of quality: The standard of something as measured ... MoreThe quality of the heads are great with the exception of the collar. I bought an inexpensive drum set and it had beat up heads on it. In the meantime I switched the resonant heads to the top and batter heads to the bottom just to get by. Now, I put the resonant heads back on the bottom and the Evans G2 heads on and without much tuning they sound unbelievable!!! I saw videos on changing the heads to make the drums sound better but could not believe it until I actually did it myself and the Evans G2 heads made such a difference. I almost laugh now when I play because they sound so good!
Used to be a Remo guy - went to Evans about half a decade ago on a suggestion from a friend. Very happy with Evans and their quality drum heads. I had no problems with Remo heads, but after switching to Evans I noticed an improvement in quality drum sound and longevity. Specifically the heads I bought were coated G2. Previously I used EC2 heads with good results. I decided I wanted a more open, ringy sound and bought these G2 coated heads. I love the sound, the openness, the quality and focused sound they provide. More open and ringy than EC2, as expected. I tune my drum tone high and these heads sing nicely without choking. Easy to tune. Got a great pitch with minimal effort. I tune my top and bottom heads to the same pitch and have done this since I started ... MoreUsed to be a Remo guy - went to Evans about half a decade ago on a suggestion from a friend. The G2's tune nicely and stay in pitch despite my beating the hell out of them. The fusion pack allowed me to get all the drum heads in the sizes I needed with little effort.
I recently jumped off the Remo bandwagon and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Not only is their product fantastic, but they also have some of the best customer service I've ever encountered treating me like a big name endorsee and helping me to choose heads during this brand transition. These heads sounds fantastic! I'm pairing with them with the EC2 series on my collection of Pearl toms. I tune them slightly higher than the batter heads and they just work. Many people usually ignore their resonate heads but they are a vital part to your sound, so don't forget to change them! I'm also Rockin a 6" and a 8" on my LP Mini Timbales and they sound fantastic. Given they are one ply I wouldn't recommend using these for batters on anything other than small drums like ... MoreI recently jumped off the Remo bandwagon and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I ordered the 8" and 6" G1 heads to retrofit some early 70's Rogers bongos. I had Slingerland hoops to fit. The 8" worked great. The 6" didn't exactly fit inside the hoop. It may have fit in a standard triple flange hoop, but I tried an Ambassador and it worked. I don't think there'll be much difference in sound on a 6" drum.
I've gone through a lot of heads trying to get the sound I want. I have a StarClassic kit that came with G2 clears. I loved the sound but thay had a tiny bit too much ring and sustain. In hopes of getting a slightly more damped sound, I bought a set of the EC2 coated, and they sounded good too, but were a little too dead. I wanted something in-between. I was debating between G2 coated, and EC2 clear. I decided to go with the G2 coated and WOW! They have a nice, clean, focused musical tone, without any undesireable overtones. They sound delicious! I highly recommend these heads.
I just used these heads on an inexpensive Tama mirror finish kit (unsure of the model) for recording. I wanted to go for a very "thuppy" tom sound with the heads just above finger tight, similar to the band Loathe. On this particular kit, I achieved better low fundamental using Evans EC2 clear heads for that tuning range, but the attack timbre was higher. These heads got a little too papery sounding in low tuning ranges, but just a touch higher still gave the toms a nice un-pokey attack with a fairly low fundamental. The heads took different tunings well to either increase or reduce sustain. After recording, I preferred the sound of the coated heads in an alternative rock context.I'm glad I tried them!
