Controls odor better than any scented cat litter. I switched to this brand 2 years ago and have stayed with it. I have 4 cats and 3 litter boxes. I am told over and over that my home does not smell like I have any cats. The only negative is that the litter does come out of the box and get tracked all over so I’m continually sweeping but for the incredible odor control it is worth it. I also love that each flat comes with 4 bags that are very easy to pick up and pour.

I have a separate view for Fresh Step w/ Febreze, which gave it 3-stars for being "OK" at its goal. It's a premium litter, but doesn't exactly work in premium circumstances - like automated litter boxes. Ever Clear is better, but it costs a bit more - and isn't different enough to warrant it. It has a better scent, and less dust. But it's not as dust free as A&H Slide, and honestly doesn't smell as pleasant even coming out of the box. It's also not very resistant to sticking to the pan. On the upside, it has a balanced weight to it - so it rarely if ever prevents the automatic rake from passing. But all said, it just doesn't rate any better than the less expensive A&H. My vet recommended this product for an aged cat during the pandemic. This litter is supposed to be a low dust formula. I don't know what has happened but lately I've had so much dust in the air when cleaning the litter boxes that I've had to leave the room. I noticed last year that the dust level was increasing but it's been really bad the last three times that I've purchased this product. My cats smell like it as does the blanket that they lay on. It also has a slight smell so the information on the box is not accurate. I intend to find another product to use in place of this. It clumps relatively well but gets pretty gluey in the corners and breaks up while scooping the litter.
Used this litter for many years due to my cats allergies and eye infection issues and it works great. Has great odor control. 42 pounds is hard to carry and it is broken down into 4 individual plastic bags which is great when it comes to cleaning your boxes. Just wished it wasn't plastic. 25 pound box can be recycled which is great but it cost more to purchase multiple 25 pound boxes.
I tried most other brands of litter to find one that could handle horrible cat feces smell; none worked- the whole house would fill with gag-worthy odor after 4 out of 5 cats pooped (#5 has never had this problem). And the smell would just stay, growing stronger and lingering forever. Ever Clean Unscented Extra Strength has done remarkably well. I still have to run to the litter box and cover the pile more than the cats do, but then the smell dissipates and is gone. This is the only litter that has stopped the odor from spreading throughout the house, and the smell does completely disappear, even near the litter boxes. I would rather not have to pile more litter on the already-covered feces, but I am ecstatic that once buried a bit more, the odor goes away. I think this also helps: wash and dry the litter boxes and spread the entire inside with white vinegar and let air-dry before you put in clean litter. Anyway, I would normally give this only 4 stars because of having to cover the pile more, but it does a great job of stopping the smell, and that is what was most important to me and it does a great job for that! Definitely worth trying!
This product is good with regard to clumping. My main problem with it is the large amount of plastic that is not recyclable. I need to order the 42 lbs., but it is too heavy for me to carry into the house from the car. Dividing the 42 lbs. into 4 smaller pouches helped with the weight--I could leave the large package in the car and take each pouch into the house separately--but it has meant that the amount of unrecyclable plastic waste is 4 Xs greater than the previous packaging. I have 4 cats, so I need to purchase a large amount. Could the manufacturer put the 4 pouches of clean litter in a kind of plastic that breaks down in the landfill?
I was an avid Arm & Hammer Slide user for my one cat until I got two cats. The arm & hammer wasn’t dusty at all but the smell would creep out, and I would scoop both litter boxes at least once a day. This ever clean litter is AMAZING at scent control!!!! I still scoop at least once a day but it really keeps the odors from lingering. The only downside, and cause of the 4/5 stars, is that it’s really dusty. I’ve never had a litter work so good at covering odors. I’ll definitely keep repurchasing!
We've been looking for a clumping clay litter with less dust and lightly or unscented. The litter we've been using works well enough, but the dust in the surrounding areas is awful - and our cats don't like a strongly scented litter. I'd read a review for Ever Clean Extra Strength Unscented Clumping Litter and gave it a try. It seems less dusty, clumps a bit better than our former litter, and the cats like it. We like the plastic bags vs box or plastic containers - less recycling. Only time will tell if the dust is significantly better.
Buy it.Great cat litter. Probably has a smorgojsboard of chemicals but when I tell you it doesn’t smell o__o it really doesn’t smell. I would highly recommend. Amazing clumping for pee pee (pee pee cakes super easy to pick up and throw out), low dust, clean smell. Don’t have to changeout the whole litter every week, simply take out the mess and periodically add litter as needed. Buy a case maybe every 2 months (I have one small cat) I clean the litter every day or other day. No smell (and if there is smell from lots of messy doo doo it can only be smelled from close to the litter…it doesn’t spread or travel. Well contained) As someone who HATES cat litter odor I really appreciate this litter.
