This is one of the best vertical mouses and I have experience with vertical mouses for about 10 years. Product is very light. A bit more mass would be better. Its easy to flick it off the table by accident. Plastic is very flat leaving no groowes where palm heat could dissipate. My hand is warm because of that and this degrades the experience. Arm position is nice vertical. Buttons are well positioned but fifth finger tends to land on the table. Buttons are too soft and wheel doesnt feel much premium. More like it will fall apart any moment. There are similar and less pricey options offering good ergonomics and value for the money, such as older m618 models. Price is ok for someone from the US. The rest of us have to pay very expensive shipping and handling.

It's probably way more "mouse" than I need. I was having a tendonitis flareup. "Get this mouse," I was told. Ok. 3 buttons. I deactivated one because I was constantly clicking it. "You'll get past that," I was told. Hmmm, well, 2 weeks and not yet (I can hear it when I click it accidentally). Like any mouse, you can set pointer speed through Windows, so having it on board is redundant. Set and forget. Left button, right button, wheel - they work. Nothing special there, other than at first it seems like if you scroll slowly, the page moves slowly. I can probably describe that better - because it's REALLY annoying for the page to not move consistently with the scroll wheel. Pull it back one click and you get 1 audible click with no movement - until you pull it back a 2nd click, and then you get 1 line movement with an audible click. So when you push, it moves with every click, but when you pull it moves with every OTHER click. What the ...? I'm not sure that I understand how that is a better system than a standard mouse - or why it's built into this one at all. It's as if someone said "Hey, let's make it do THIS!" Makes no sense to me. No wonder it seems to scroll ok when I push the wheel to scroll up, but goes real slow when I pull the wheel to scroll down - because that's exactly how it works - 1 click per line to scroll up, TWO clicks per line to scroll down. Nobody mentioned that in the literature. Forward, back thumb button? I suppose someone is desperate for that feature, but it's not necessary for me. Software to set up a mouse? Ok, again, I don't see the point. Maybe the software is great, but for me it was completely unnecessary - I plugged in the dongle and the mouse worked out of the box. Point for Evoluent. Maybe the software is so the user can defeat the crazy default settings and get the mouse to work like a normal mouse has worked for what, 30 years? Texture, feel, weight, all pretty much standard, but I've been using a mouse daily for 3 decades anyway (wireless since 2005) and so there's really no need for something new or different, other than hand position - and I guess that's the big selling point. I usedthe mouse for a few days (I want to say 3, might have been 4), and the tendonitis I think got worse - went from occasional/positional to constant ache. Got bad enough I picked up a wrist brace and VIOLA! Next day, no more pain. The Evoluent Mouse is a take-it-or-leave-it thing. It's not "bad," but it's not a panacea, either. Pretty expensive for what it is and does. It's ok, but I wouldn't recommend it. Try an inexpensive vertical mouse 1st and see if you like it enough to spend more money on an Evoluent so you can try to figure out if the software can correct the crazy default behavior. I believe you can download the software from Evoluent. I don't have that kind of time.

Its not a pick up and understand on first use mouse as it takes time to get used to and side to side movements (the bread and butter of a normal mouse) feel a little awkward at first, but I turned up the responsiveness (so less movement was required) and its fine. The hand positioning is much more comfortable than other ergonomic noises and I like the programming of buttons. Dont believe the reviews saying its super heavy- its not a dumbbell but also you shouldnt need to raise it off the table for normal operation I had some difficulty initially with maintaining a steady connection so pls learn from my mistakes and follow these steps when installing the mouse: 1) update your system 2) check battery ... MoreCompared with a normal mouse this feels infinitely more comfortable. On sight its hard to justify such a high price but once I used it my wrist went ahhh! and felt much better. When Itried a normal mouse again I immediately felt tension shooting up from my wrist - never again- I like my noises pain free
I was not sure what to think of the mouse till I got it. Overall I felt like this was a pretty decent mouse. It had the features I wanted out of the box, mainly a three button mouse with the middle button acting asan middle click and it is ergonomic.Pros:- Wired (con for some), so I do not need to worry about batteries- Middle button acts as an middle click on linux- It looks like they changed this at some pointCons:- My pinky feels just a little cramped, but then I did not think aboutsize when I bought this.
Used this mouse for years with great pleasure and recently bought a new one. Quality has really gone downhill. The middle mouse button sticks when scrolling with the primary mouse button held down. I emailed Goldtouch with this concern and they did not seem to care one bit (quoting verbatim: "We do not manufacture the Evoluent products and rare receive inrequires regarding their support" - just wow. Lost a lifetime customer with such nonsense.
Years ago I was on the verge of getting carpal tunnel surgery, due to conventional mouse use. I researched and ordered the Evoluent and my problem went away. This was about 15 years ago. I'm on my second mouse (the first was wired and the cat chewed the cord). It did take about two weeks to get used to but once I did I never used any other mouse. Your wrist does not twist, nor does it rest flat on the desk surface, it's a much more natural and ergonomic position. I have recommended this mouse countless times to people who are having wrist pain from conventional mouse use. If I could give it ten stars I would.
If you have wrist or arm pain from excessive computer/mouse work, I strongly suggest you give this a try. I've been using a version of this exact mouse for 15 years now. It really works. It can't magically un-do long-term damage, but it can ease your pain and stop the terrible ergonomics a regular/traditional mouse causes. If you really want to go all-the-way, add a Goldtouch split keyboard as well, for the ultimate ergonomic computer set up. (the keyboard only applies if you can touch-type), but mouse will work for anyone. It's worth the investment, I promise.
Very comfortable computer mouse. I get pain after using a regular computer mouse for more than 5 minutes; with this mouse, there's no more pain. I used it right out of the box. I haven't installed the software that allows fancy customization, so I can't speak to that. The middle button is great--no more clicking the scroll wheel to middle click.My only gripe is it seems to get greasy from time to time. I wipe it with Clorox wipe when it gets bothersome. I'm assuming this is from natural skin oils, but it's strange because I've never had this issue with any other mouse.
