Evolvs best-selling shoe for even more crushing. Defy everything The Defy one of Evolvs best-selling climbing shoes and a great all-rounder. It has gone through several technical upgrades over time making it an even greater choice for beginners all the way to advanced climbers. An anatomical design provides great out-of-the-box fit and comfort. A synthetic upper will keep the shoe from overly stretching and a nice padded and breathable tongue adds a functional and comfortable surface for the two velcro tabs to wrap around. Evolv have also built in an anti-microbial mesh material known as Agion to eliminate odour and bacteria build-up. The Defy retains Evolvs VTR Variable Thickness Rand technology. VTR makes the toe rand in differing thicknesses. Basically, high-wear zones are thicker and more durable than other areas. This enhances the toe box structure and prevents toe bulge. It also means that there less waste during the manufacturing process so its better for the environmentThe Defy technical enough to smear along slabby terrain or grip an overhang, and comfortable enough for a day climbing indoors, or a multi-pitch epic. Overall, a great shoe that will stay comfortable from the first time you put them on but still let you climb hard.

I bought this pair of shoes in the search for gym shoes that didn't leave my feet feeling crippled by the end of a session. The Defy's fit nicely and are especially kind to my wider feet. The toe box is exceptionally comfortable. I wear roughly a 10.5 to 11 in street shoes, and I went with an 11.5 for these shoes (I was wearing a pair of older Geshidos, also Evolv, at 11.5 and they were a bit aggressive on the fit) and they seem to be perfect. They may not be the highest performing shoe out there, but they do seem to toe and heel hook just fine, though when your feet start sweating they may get a bit loose and require a bit more tightening (for which the velcro works great). Overall, these are a decent shoe at a great price!

Currently I'm on my third pair of Defy's that I have used exclusively for indoor climbing both routes and bouldering. They don't have any texture on the top of the toe so if a climb hasa difficult toe hook I will switch to my more aggressive shoes. But having said that, they get the job done on 95% of the climbs I do and are extremely comfortable to wear. I intend to keep replacing these in the future.

Me and my friend both bought this shoe. He’s a 13 im climbing shoe with a long skinny foot. He loves the shoes cause the tight around his foot way better than others without to much bubble-ing cause he had a skinny foot. The only thing that gets in his way is the excess. This is why I like my foot is “bigger,” my foot fits really snug in this shoe toe to heel. The heel rubber make it very comfortable to heel hook and the soles edge is thick and sharp, while still being flexible with a break-in.Over all out of the 3 neutral climbing shoes I bought, this one is very comfortable For me along side the lace tarantulas. Which I would also highly recommend.

Got these for the gym and they are great for all day wear. Super comfortable. They are not super at performance but they are also not advertised to be. Would definitely buy again.
I bought this instead of using gym rentals and been hitting the gym with them regularly for a few months. I have not used outside yet but seem like they will be fine there as well. A great shoe that didn't break the budget. I'm sure it's possible to outgrow the capabilities of this shoe skill wise, but I'm not even close yet so I keep rocking them. I can even smear this on the wall and get enough traction to get my next hold in difficult stretches.
Had an issue with sizing and exchanged them for a size up which fit me perfectly. Just got back into climbing after a few year hiatus. These shoes are neutral and work well in the climbing gym for an entry to intermediate climber. One thing to keep in mind is that the upper is suede and will stretch very little. I'm pretty consistent in a size 10 US across the board in different types of shoes but I needed these in 11.
Got these for my brother because I wanted him to get in to climbing and so far they have been great. I did a little bit of browsing before hand and these seemed to be the best option for entry level shoes. He has only worn them outside but I imagine they would be just as great indoors as well. As for sizing, I decided to go TTS and thankfully the fit "kinda tight" which is great.
Best shoe for indoor use only- lasts for 170~ bouldering sessions (3 hours each), no wear and tear. Good for V1-V9 climbers who just want to get stronger and are to busy to care about fashion or hype. 95% of the foot holds in UK indoor gyms are massive anyway and you don't need anything more.
Primarily a Gym shoe. Got a previous pair which lasted unexpectedly long. I usually go for the Italian jawns but for 60 something dollars these things are worth it. Pretty neutral. True to size in vans. Comfortable. Decent for slab, not great for aggressive over hangs. No toe protection.
Really good. Sticky rubber, very sticky. Heel is locked in there. Toe box is kind of tall so if you went small you could get some toe bend to make these kind of downturn-ey, but overall really good.I climbed on sandstone, limestone, and basalt on these and they work pretty well.Much better than La Sportiva Oxygyms which were my old shoe. I prefer these much more.'I got these true-to-size 9.5 and they felt pretty darn snug, given that my left foot is like 0.2 inches longer than my right ugh
