Exo Terra Repti Glo Compact 5.0 25W Reptile Globes UVB 100
The Exo Terra Reptile UVB 100, 26W has a moderate to high UVB output, similar to that of shady environments such as rain forests and other tropical locations. Reptiles living in these habitats receive less UV radiation because of the many climatological conditions (fairly high humidity, changes in weather, etc) that prevent direct sunlight from reaching them or their basking sites. The advantage of the Exo Terra Repti Glo Compact Fluorescent bulb is its size and the fact that it is self-ballasted. A regular screw fitting is sufficient to operate these bulbs. The spiral shape of the bulb enables vertical or horizontal mounting without compromising performance. It is recommended to combine a high UVB output (Repti Glo 5.0 and 10.0) with a very high visual light output (Repti Glo 2.0) for optimal results. Fluorescent bulbs do not provide sufficient heat. A separate heat source is required in addition (ex: incandescent basking lamp).

I bought this bulb from Petco in Wooster, Ohio on Saturday 5/2/20. On sunday 5/10/20 I went to turn on my bearded dragons lights and the bulb was already burnt out with the filament rattling around. For $20 I figured this bulb would be decent quality and last at least 2-3 months. It did not.

I bought this bulb on 3/10, today is 4/23 and it has burned out already. I am usually able to use these bulbs for at least 6 months. Petco in Delafield, WI charged me $30.47 for this bulb. I'd like to be contacted regarding a refund or a replacement bulb for this inconvenience.

We're new to having a lizard and I had no idea about full spectrum lighting and how it's required for metabolic processing. As a result, without UVB lighting, our anole developed NSHP. We got this light and it is helping her. The road to recovery is slow but she is looking better!

1st of all im wondering why this bulb is so expensive at petco compared to other places.... 2ndly i only had it plugged up 24 hours total spaced out in 2 days and it stopped working!!! They're not accepting returns during covid so what am i supposed to do!? BUY ANOTHER??? I am so disappointed with this purchase i could just scream......
Used only during the day for a water dragon and the light only lasted 33 days. $38.99 for the bulb is an insane price for such a small bulb life. 100% DO NOT recommend
I purchased two of these bulbs on Jan 6. One bulb has now burnt out 3 months later. These bulbs should last around 6 months or longer from what I have read online. These bulbs are around $30. I wouldn’t recommend these bulbs to anyone.
I've been using the bulb that came with my Exo-Terra Red Eared Slider Turtle Habitat Kit since last August (that's 11 months) and it FINALLY burned out! We're talking about being on for 8 hours a day for the past 11 months so the longevity of these bulbs is excellent. The bulb provides a great source of light for my turtle and facilitates the UV spectrum they need. When combined with Exo-Terra's 75w basking bulb, an all encompassing long lasting lighting system is created. I highly recommend it!
I use this bulb for each of my turtle's heat lamps. The UVB is important for them and helps keep them healthy. in order to keep their effectiveness, the bulbs need to changed out every 6 months.
I read sprial wasn't good for RES as it could cause blindness, but what i've observed is that they close their eyes and never directly look up at the light, really just absorb the uvb rays required. additionally drsfosterandsmith would not as vets sell something harmful to pets. This bulb fit perfectly with the mini combo dome light fixture and lights up my entire tank (Aqueon 30 breeder) It was affordable and overall best value. 2 weeks in and still holding up to regular 8-10 hours usage.
I chose to go with fixtures that used a standard light bulb base, so this CFL UVB 100 tropical bulb was a good value for my needs. The bulb doesn't give off a very natural colored light. It looks more like a soft white bulb (yellowish cast) that most people use in their homes. So, it's necessary to use a "daylight" bulb in addition to this bulb if you want to grow plants. I'm using these bulbs over vivariums with day geckos. The bulbs seem to be doing their job. My geckos are thriving!
