I purchased this underwear after seeing tons of rave testimonials on Reddit as I was looking to overhaul my essentials drawer. Previously all of my briefs were cotton and came from the likes of TJ Maxx and Off Saks Fifth, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to give upgraded nylon briefs a try. After wearing them for the better part of a year, I can say these briefs are more breathable, evaporate moisture, and fit better than anything I've ever owned before. With that being said, they're not perfect. For starters, it is a MUST to cut the tags out, though that's an easy enough fix to snip the extra threads. Also, they tend to pill on the upper seat area like crazy, even despite washing them in a garment bag and hanging them to dry. In addition, I am hoping to get several more years of use out of them, but do not have faith that can be attained as I've noticed 2/4 pairs already have bare elastic strings protruding from the waistband. All in all I am quite satisfied with my purchase, but they were not the pairs I will wind up filling up my entire drawer with as I had hoped. Perhaps I'll give merino a try next.

I order these shorts for my husband because they are his very favorite shorts. I hope ex officio continues to carry them for many years. We have purchased them for several years and I keep getting more in case you discontinue this particular short. They are his by far very favorite shorts. They are light, very comfortable, have really good pockets for phone etc. At first I bought them originally for my husband for travel. He has lots of other shorts but will only wear these. He uses them to work in, & play in and wears them all the time and the always look great!! You used to have more colors but now only offer one color. Please bring back the other colors so we can stock up. Highly recommend these. It’s so sad when a great product is discontinued. Please continue to make these shorts. On a second note I wish you would make them in women’s sizes.

For years I wore some amazingly good underwear, then they ceased making them. Time to search for a replacement. I looked on line, ordered 1 each of those that looked promising for a real world comparison. This is the winner. One other brand made from bamboo had a slightly softer hand, but they had a slight tendency to ride up. After a few washings it also became clear the Ex Officio boxers were holding up better. Waistband is comfortable, they stay put, wick extremely well and have a smooth itch free feel. My only wish is that the legs were an inch longer, but not ultimately a problem or a big deal. Recommended for comfort, fit, wicking performance and durability.

One’s undergarments are like one’s conscience - ever-present, unseen….and reliable. I’ve taken my G&G briefs through four countries across the Americas, for weeks on end, since 2008. As a hyper-minimalist digital nomad, I pack light with only the absolute best, and these are the core of my wardrobe. They can wash and dry in 6 hours on a curtain rod in Puerto Lempira, serve as trunks in the volcanic hot springs of Andean Peru, keep their comfort from tropical heat at sea level to 15K feet in a blizzard. Never odor, never chafing, never sagging - they are the pivot point of my wardrobe. A pair lasts a good 6 years without harm, and 3 pair will keep in a small ziplock bag. Long treks on the Appalachian Trail are sublime without itching and sweating, and 6-hour ... MoreOne’s undergarments are like one’s conscience - ever-present, unseen….and reliable. I have worn Exofficio briefs for my athletic training and competitions for many years. They have been very good briefs. Supportive, breathable and comfortable. They last, but not as long as the ads say. You'll buy these more than you like. But - the price is very high. I guess I/we male athletes are used to it. We have very few or no choices. Road Runner no longer makes theirs available. I guess I will keep spending the high prices. No choice. But seriously, made in Cambodia. There is about a half yard of polyester and then some elastic for the legs and waist. Really $20 for one pair??My wife can get breathable, polyester briefs that hold up and work very well from several places - about 4-5 for $15. They are good, but why are we stuck with one choice and such ... MoreI have worn Exofficio briefs for my athletic training and competitions for many years. They have been very good briefs. So, I'm wearing my ExO briefs about one or two days every other week, as I use these when playing Pickleball(and I rotate through maybe 8 pairs of ExOs mixed with REI brand and one or two others). I originally bought them for cycling; but Pball has taken over my "athletic life". These are light enough to wear with shorts that have a 'liner'; but substantial enough to wear with shorts that don't have any brief/liner. Unfortunately, my oldest ExOs are failing at the waistband and I have to carefully choose which ones I can wear with which shorts. I reckon I'm an actual XL; but have one pair of XXL that really aren't that much larger(not in the waist anyway; but they are bigger overall and feel better under cargo shorts, etc). The sagging waistbands in a couple of pairs stand in contrast to the near pristine appearance of the rest of the brief(s). I do like the slight texture to the material and general fit of the XL(I'm 42w); although the XXL is OK(and was easier to find in stock on occasion). They get laundered with Ecos natural detergent and hung to dry(indoors). All-in-all, I have to say I'm pleased...but a little disappointed that 2-3 pairs have reached their end of life.By the bye, the sizing options offered below don't apply to these briefs.
I now own at least 10 pair of Exofficio underwear and this is the ONLY brand I will ever wear.Have worn these while hiking the 500 mile El Camino de Santiago trail in Spain. Only needed 2 pair. Best benefits are very light weight, dry quickly and odorless. I especially love the new fabric which is now even lighter and smoother.Trust me you don’t need to go on a 500 hike to appreciate this underwear. I wear them everyday. I have been a loyal customer of this brand for over 10 yrs now.
It's nice that someone understands how to make men's underwear with a waistband that's not rolling down constantly. Finally. That in and of itself is a major plus. But overall, I really love it. In fact so much I got my first pair in and just washed it every day till the second order came in. It stretches, it breathes, it dries really fast. I can sweat in the gym and then by the time I get in the truck and am home... it's already dry. The legs don't ride up - although I prefer the 3" version so I just ordered that, but the 5 inch version is great for wearing pants. They stay put, just the right stretch but also just the right hold... definitely a fan, and I'm SUPER picky about clothing. I got a large, even though my waist is 33 but I didn't want it to be constrictive as I have larger quads, so if you work out a lot, I'd go up a size - however it's still incredibly comfortable.
I had bought my partner a pair of the old style several years ago, and when it was time to get him some new undergarments, he requested more of them as they were still in great shape and comfortable. Though they were too expensive for us for everyday use, I did get him this two pack for our anniversary. Though he still likes them, he doesn’t rave about them as much as the old version.Of the claims made for this product, the only ones he feels these underwear stand out is that they are quick-drying, and sturdily constructed. He’s not an outdoorsman or traveler, but they do air dry very quickly, and we anticipate they will hold up about as well as the old style. The newer waistband dries a bit slower than the old style, but still pretty quickly. He did not notice ... MoreI had bought my partner a pair of the old style several years ago, and when it was time to get him some new undergarments, he requested more of them as they were still in great shape and comfortable. He also didn’t find them any more breathable or that they kept him any cooler or drier. These may last a bit longer than the multi-pack brands, but the cost difference and lack of any other added benefits, we will not be buying any more of these, the longevity does not outweigh the much steeper price tag.
Many years ago, I was working in the field and unexpectedly needed to spend the night out. I stopped by a store and purchased undergarments that were adequate. I knew there would probably be many more nights like this. I ended up searching for travel related clothing and purchased a few brands. My favorite and go to we’re the original Give and Go Boxer Briefs. Since that time, roughly 8-10 years ago, I’ve been loyal to the Ex Officio’s Boxer Briefs. They work, they pack light and you can wash them for the next day to wear. I don’t travel for work these days, but I am still most comfortable in knowing these are the best all around pair of boxer briefs, whether traveling by air, car or train…or biking and hiking wherever I may be. They’re great and long lasting!!
