Super comfy after a long day in alpine conditions, very warm as well, as a cold sleeper it has definitely helped me get a better sleep.

Hiked Kilimanjaro this past New Years. If you’re going to cling at that altitude and temperature you don’t want to compromise on sleep. I didn’t. This was amazing. I left it there with the guides and my daughter left hers for her Porter. Now I have to buy new ones but these are amazing. Worth every penny and the repair kit to boot as well as the extra bag to inflate to avoid condensation is a must. Great product

Slept on a thermarest almost my entire life of camping I’m 58 started camping in my 20s eight years ago I upgraded to a big Angus dual core sleeping mat which was almost 100% better than my Thermarest. I decided this year to get the best mat I could so I chose the exped8 it did not disappoint, I’d say 50% better than big angus.I’m taking about comfort. As for insulation it’s questionable how much better it could be but I’d say it’s is better than the big angus dual core but only because it’s thicker which intern puts you farther off the ground, There is some care and keeping the down evenly distributed but it’s not that hard to do with a little bit of patience and a flash light. Packability is unbelievable you can pretty much roll into any shape you want I prefer ... MoreSlept on a thermarest almost my entire life of camping I’m 58 started camping in my 20s eight years ago I upgraded to a big Angus dual core sleeping mat which was almost 100% better than my Thermarest. Packability is unbelievable you can pretty much roll into any shape you want I prefer long bed mat roll at the bottom of my backpack it stabilizes your pack when you set down and it doesn’t take any room up on the inside of your pack, I stuffed mine into an old Thermarest stuff sack that was 5 inches shorter the the exped mat. The inflation bag is a little bit annoying, but it’s definitely faster than blowing it up with your mouth. Once you figure it out and only takes about 4 bags of air to fill it. Pro tip don’t overfill your mat it should be nice and comfortable your hip should dig in just a little bit and not touch the ground.
This sleep pad is a great deal for price. It seems like a high quality sleep mat.
I would not buy any Exped product again. They do not behind their Products! My pad delaminated and no service! Zero stars
This sleeping pad is incredibly warm, comfortable, and quiet. Used at 30° F (bit overkill) and I could see it keeping me cozy way below that. It's amazing how well this pad reflects heat back to you when you're on it. The pad also feels very durable and isn't too heavy for what it is. Included pump sack also works well and takes about 2 minutes at most to inflate. I just wish the stuff sack it comes with were like half an inch longer as it's quite a tight fit, but it only takes a few extra seconds to deal with that. I don't mind the weight/size (got the long/wide) and think it's totally worth backpacking with for the comfort, or if you're going into some pretty cold stuff.
Heavy? Tis that. Comfortable for me down to the lower teens so far and will push it lower as I know it will still keep me warm- I had the older Exped down mat 9 and can attest their ratings. If I you like to winter camp, add this to your system.
