Began car camping last year and have tried a few options but this pad definitely is an ideal choice for either one or two people. When I have extra space I throw this on top of my air mattress for extra comfort. However, an air mattress is not needed and definitely is the luxury route. This pad alone it provides a great deal of support and inflates/deflates easily.

I was able to sleep on my side without by hip hitting the ground. I'm an active sleeper too, my husband didn't feel me tossing and turning at all throughout the 2 nights we have used it, unlike regular air mattresses that seem to amplify sound and every little movement.I am extremely happy with this purchase!!

Amazing product that will last a lifetime. Any Exped pad is amazing. I didn’t do my usual research and this is basically the width of a full size bed, so for small people who are spoiled by a King bed one of us was constantly crowding the other during our living room floor test. We camp often but usually on our own pads. The comfort was ok but as side sleepers we just didn’t love it enough for the price.
This is a great product. It is a much better option than an air mattress. It provides a much more comfortable experience especially when sleeping next to someone. Their movement does not disturb you in the middle of the night and the pad stays firm! Very happy with this purchase!
It's a double sleeping pad. What could be more romantic? Very comfy. A little wierd to inflate-- just a small push device to help it -- but it did inflate and stayed that way.Pretty big. So plan on car camping.

Setup was easy: open both valves and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then top off with the included pump. The pump is a bit fiddly, but it doesn't take long to fill the pad. Comfort and warmth were exceptional. My wife and I are small people, so the pad was very roomy and I never felt cramped. I felt no pressure points, my hips and shoulders were supported and I got a couple of very restful nights of sleep on it. Packing it away is cumbersome, but the roll top-stuff sack takes a lot of the frustration away and the packed size, while large, is smaller than expected. We purchased this mattress in August in advance of a trip to Glacier National Park in September. It has delivered in every possible category. Ease of inflating/deflating made for easy set up and tear down. The high r-value meant we never felt the cold from below in temperatures to date into the low 20’s. The comfort regardless of sleeping on your side or back was excellent and could be fine tuned by adjusting the air pressure. The material created enough surface tension that you didn’t slide around. We both loved this mattress and would definitely recommend it. This is not a backpacking mattress as it is a bit bulky and heavy but for base camp or car camping you will sleep like a baby!!

The videos convinced me of the careful design and research they put into their mats.The biggest thing is to sleep comfortably, and you will!We had to learn to actually let some air OUT, because the foam inside is nearly sufficient on its own, without trying to add much air other than what it sucks in by itself while unfurling.But the designers thought through the whole experience. The added niceties:- Separate one-way valves for inflate and deflate.- Stretchy fabric on the top so you sink into the foam instead of rolling around on a balloon-like surface.- Even the carrying bag is designed so you don't have to wrestle and struggle to re-pack the thing!If you think you want EVEN MORE cushion, then I learned after my purchase that you could instead just buy two Exped sim 10 cm *single-width* pads and they each have velcro along the side for velcro-ing them together.hope that helps! happy camping!
This is well built sleeping mat and I purchased the schnozzel pumpbag separately, which helped to set up the mat quickly. We camped for 2 days and I only needed to pump once at setup. Two ladies with two sleeping bags were able to fit within the mat nicely. We didn't feel touching the ground and the mat felt like a firm mattress without any hug.
