This version of the EA Formula One franchise is an overall excellent game that features all the teams, cars, drivers, and tracks from the 2021 F1 season. One point to remember, however, is that in order to take full advantage of the racing experience, it's best to use a Logitech or Thrustmaster steering wheel and pedal set. It's too difficult to control the cars with any precision or consistency with the handheld controller.

Best F1 game on console!After a few iterations, Codemasters has nailed it. This is a great game, casual gamers would have fun and pro sim racers can spend a lifetime perfecting their driving experience. However, you must have a wheel and a stand to fully appreciate this title. I am using the Logitech G920 that I also got at Best Buy and I am having a blast.

Another great F1 game! Really have enjoyed this game. The new “Breaking Point” story mode was really entertaining and the career mode is robust as well. The only problem I have is the AI difficulty. It is so difficult to find the sweet spot. You are either so much faster than your opponents or can’t keep up. To be fair a lot of racing games have this same difficulty. I would rate this 4.5 if possible based on that alone. I find myself adjusting the AI difficulty regularly trying to find the sweet spot. Overall, a great game and all F1 fans and racing fans should give this one a try!

This game is well done. There are improvements from F1 2020 such as more random breakdowns and your car can have more damage such as rear wing and rear wheels being destroyed. Slight Aerodynamic damage has a massive impact on car handling. There are no classic cars as in prior games. The difficulty settings seem different from last year and I suggest you look around the settings menus to make sure you have everything set how you want it. This is an excellent simulator and I recommend it to any race fan.

Lots of fun! We're slowly but surely getting better as F1 racers. The split screen option for two player play was well needed. This game also fills our F1 jones when we have no races to watch. We're still newbies to this game, but appears that the settings are highly adjustable, so that as your racing improves you can adjust your settings for increasingly realistic racing (which for us means an almost guaranteed crash by the first corner of any track). Very glad for the "casual" setting that lets us just learn how to keep the car on the driving line, slow down for curves, and speed out of turns. Lots of fun!
I recently just got hooked into F1. It's such an amazing sport. Even this game is challenging. Career mode is tricky. Until you start understanding the dynamics. you'll get a hang of it!I honestly keeping up with the latest Grand Prix ( Brazil GP soon). Last weekend was the Mexico GP... so what I did.. I played the Mexico track so that I can understand it myself.... and it helps a lot cause once you start watching the race live... it feels like you get the track cause you played it! tonight I will play the BRAZIL track and see how it feels VIRTUALLY... then Saturday is the sprint, and Sunday will be the race. Honestly.. this game gave me the closest feeling of how it looks and feels esp on board the drivers head camera!!
Pros: None really. Maybe the graphics if I HAD to pick somethingCons: They made the game ALOT more realistic. Which means you need to be a pro at know about F1 mechanics to ensure your don't slide out and skid on every single corner. You can't just play/race. We've sat for hours watching YouTube videos of top games to try change all the setting so my son cane get a decent race on the track but every corner he spins out no matter what changes we make. So he got upset and didnt want to play it. And I don't blame him
First off, the handling and the A.I are great, once its dialed in. Everything else is a step back, the removal of wind, no classic cars, out of date tracks, lighting is scaled back, missing 2021 tracks and no more championship mode. All the effort was put into "Braking Point", which will last you 5-6 hours tops. I purchased this for the PS4, though I have a PS5 and the upgrades are minimal at best(still 25-30fps replays and cut-scenes). I think the game runs and plays better on the PS4, like really. Maybe 2022 is the year we actually see a step forward, or not, now that EA is the publisher. Get this on sale or use points like I did.
Being a big fan of this franchise, I have purchased each new year since 2017. So far, this version as the best yet! Superb controls and visuals.Codemasters gets the fine points done very well. The menus, options and the level of detail on information, results and set up are all among the best in the racing genre. Given the vast array of difficulty setting options, you are able to grow and improve with the game. It will remain as challenging as you can handle if you adjust the difficulty levels with your skill level growth.This is how a racing sim should play.
