These pencils lay down a good line of graphite, shade well, and are in a durable wood casing. They are skinnier than the other kind, but the leads sharpen well, which means you can get the linework you are looking for! Pair with a set of Mars Lumograph (no shine) and you are set! Yes, you need both kinds to make a great drawing!
