My son needed charcoal pencils for a high school art assignment(s). These worked great and he really enjoys using them.

I'm in love with Faber Castell's charcoal pencils! (The kneaded eraser is an excellent and useful tool as well) I have only used the pencils in this set, and they blend nicely. The medium pencil is better for details while the soft is excellent for filling in and spreading. I use paint brushes and paper stumps to blend and spread. You can see the results in the image posted. My only gripe is this set doesn't include a hard charcoal pencil. That one is my first choice for detail work but the medium is second best. I highly recommend the pencils in this set! Top quality!

Nice mix of different types of charcoal. Good quality product. Wish there was more of the vine charcoal included, because it goes quickly.

I bought these for my granddaughter who is taking art classes in school. I showed her a couple tricks with tones to get her started. Product is easy to use with nice results.
Excellent quality charcoal. The vine charcoal is so easy to work with, and deposits the pigment beautifully. The compressed charcoal was extremely black and looked great on canvas. Would buy again.
These are amazing. Soft pressure needed to make some amazing pieces. Great set.
The pencils were not very smooth. One has a spot that makes it rough and almost rips my paper. I tried to smooth it out with a sharpener but itβs still not as smooth.
The charcoal pencils are nice; the natural charcoal one (black) is better than cretacolor, and the compressed is the only one of its kind that I found. The compressed sticks are powdery like some cheap air dry clay I used to have, and the pigment is no different from cretacolor. the willow is the same as Simply... The kneaded eraser is good, and I left a good review on its own sale page, but I do not think this pack is very worth it. Unless you have not used charcoal before, then, may as well, so you do not have to hunt around.
I was not impressed with this stick charcoal. I found Simply... brand just as good, much cheaper, with greater variety. the pigment and blending are pretty much the same. It still works, and if you want it, go for it, but I would rather not spend that much per stick if it doesn't bring an improvement in quality. I was quite disappointed, as the other Faber-Castel products I have tried are better than average.
These are perfect as a starter kit to charcoal drawing. The different lengths and consistency of each charcoal stick helped with shading and conturing.
