This is a beautiful set of soft color pastels. My 6 year old daughter had so much fun using this set. It was her first exposure to pastels. It's fun to encourage your children to explore this medium and to try using the pastels in various ways.For example pointing out the square appearance which lets you color very differently. You can use the flat sides for broad strokes, the edged ends for bold lines and the pointed corners for fine detail work.We made sure there was lots of newspaper put down on the table ahead of time and warned her that with pastels they will come off on your hands and everything else if you're not careful. And as long as you take care of them, I've found pastes to last a really long time.If your pastels get dirty, you can clean them easily by pouring uncooked rice in a box, closing it, and shaking your pastels together. This should help get any mixed colors off. They have a tendency to bleed color onto one another when touching.

I received the Faber-Castell Soft Pastel Half Length Sticks in a box of 24. I really love this brand for our art and craft projects. This box comes with a beautiful, vibrant assortment of pastels. These work well for shading and drawing fine lines. I have two daughters that have been using these for different purposes. My husband has also brought these to his Barbershop to put fun colors in his client’s hair. Overall, I think this is an excellent brand if your seeking pastels. The half sticks in this box of 24 gives a wonderful array of colors. I would definitely recommend!

The Faber-Castell Goldfaber Studio Soft Pastels can make any picture come to life. With the beautiful colors you can create anything. I got these for my 9 year old daughter who absolutely loves oil pastels art. She loves that these are like crayons but a little more sophisticated. We love to use them and then smudge the ink around for different affects. These unlike regular crayons can be a little messy. But well worth the mess. I would highly recommend these for slightly older kids to full grown adults. I would not recommend these for children 5 and under. Absolutely bold beautiful colors and hours worth of art to be had. Really great product.

Well Art class at home is every other day. My 14 year old daughter loves her art class. When in school she uses what the school supplies but now at home I put together a nice art kit.The Soft Pastel Half Length Sticks - Box of 24 are great! 1st being smaller in size for space in my daughters art box it perfect.She loves using the smaller size she says it’s so much easier to create with. They are soft on glide very smoothly too. Blending is very easy with fingers or a tissue. She really does create so beautiful work with these pastels.

I really enjoy using the Faber-Castell pastels as they add a pretty touch to a lot of things and the Faber-Castell Mini Soft Pastels are a great addition to my craft kit.

There are 24 in this set total. Ranging from white, yellows, pinks, blues, greens all the way to black. I think there are so many colors in this is probably the only set you will need. They are only about 2 inch long individually so not going to last forever, however it is a good set to have a variety of colors also.
