Fat Brain 100pcs Timber Blocks Set

I gave this to my grand nephew for his first birthday. His mom reports that the whole family (mom, dad, and baby) had a great time playing with these. I was concerned that the pieces might be too small, but they played with him and they are too big to be a choking hazard (he was putting them in his mouth, but that's what cleaning tools are for). He also enjoyed knocking down what they built. I think this will be a good toy for at least a couple of years. And when his cousins come over (ages 1 and 3), they will happily play with them, as well. They also come in their own big container with a handle and a lid, so they can be put away and stored easily without becoming a tripping hazard for parents.

The blocks are wonderfully made out of real wood. The exterior paint appears to be durable. The edges of the blocks are soft and not jagged. The only downside of this toy is that the triangle and half-moon shaped blocks are too small for my 12 month old child. I am fearful that they might be ingested, so I removed them temporarily until she gets a bit older. Other than this, the blocks look great and she enjoys them.

I bought these for my granddaughters 3 rd birthday... after exclaiming 'just what I wanted' she took out each colored bag and transported 2 of them to her play area, expressing delight in the colors and liked that they were contained in bags that she could easily open. She immediately engaged me into side by side building play and identified shapes and learned a new one, 'cylinder' as well as the color natural'. The pieces are easy for little hands to handle and shapes perfect for towers and houses and making doors and windows!
