Feast Watson Timber Floor Paint is an opaque, water based coating for interior timber floors. Timber Floor Paint has been especially formulated to provide superior abrasion resistance and delivers outstanding adhesion for longer lasting results. Timber Floor Paint can be used on new and existing interior timber, cork and parquetry floors. It is ideal for interior timber flooring subject to high wear, and can be tinted to a wide range of colours. PREPARATION How to prepare new or bare timber/cork: Punch exposed nails below the surface. If you have any holes and imperfections, they should be filled with timber putty. Sand timber to an even, smooth surface. Remember to vacuum and wipe to remove dust. NOTE: Prepare uncoated cork tiles in accordance with the supplier's recommendation. For best results, seal uncoated or tannin rich timber with Feast Watson Floorseal Oil or Proofseal and allow to dry thoroughly before applying Timber Floor Paint. How to prepare previously coated timber: Sand back your coated surface back to bare timber. Remember to remove all sanding dust before coating! APPLICATION Before getting started, make sure your surface is clean from any grease, oil, dirt and dust! Without introducing any bubbles, use a flat blade stirrer and thoroughly stir your product both before and during application. Using the Feast Watson Floor Finish Applicator, brush or short nap mohair roller, apply your first coat. Work along 3-4 floorboards at a time, maintaining a wet edge to prevent lap marks and lay off in the direction of the grain. And remember, avoid introducing any bubbles! After your first coat is thoroughly dry, give your second coat a go! If the grain raising is present, a light sand may be required. Need a longer wearing finish? Apply a third coat. For a gloss finish, apply a top coat with a suitable gloss water based floor coating over your final coat of Timber Floor Paint. Regularly clean using Feast Watson Floor Clean. Ensure you keep an eye on your floor for signs of colour loss or surface defects. When floor requires an additional coat of Timber Floor Paint, apply as per the instructions for Previously Coated Surfaces.
