Right out of the mailing box, this felt nicer than other monitors I've seen for the price. One of the biggest appeals to me was the compatibility with both Sony-L series (NP-F) Batteries, as well as Canon LP-E6. I use both with my BMPCC4k, so this flexibility is fantastic. The folding sunhood doesn't seem very durable, but no problems with it yet. Any review you see on this monitor will tell you that it's great for the price, and I agree. There are three 1/4 mounting holes on the monitor: Right side, bottom, and top. I wish there was one on the back and left side, but for the price, I can't complain. As a result of the lower cost, this thing seems to be 100% plastic, so I dread dropping this thing from any height, especially if I have a battery on it.The features ... MoreRight out of the mailing box, this felt nicer than other monitors I've seen for the price. False color, focus asist, histogram, waveforms, and more. Pair that with the touchscreen and menus, as well as the BMPCC4k's monitor settings, and you have a great little screen to use.It came with a mini-HDMI to fullsize HDMI, so be prepared to supply your own cable. There is a noticable delay between action and screen, but it's workable. The included cold shoe arm is all metal, except for the locking system to hold the monitor, which is plastic. The biggest sacrifices with this one is durability and delay. Otherwise, great bang for the buck.

This little monitor is pretty decent for the price. My biggest reason for buying this monitor was for the ability to import LUTs. It does a great job. It may not be the most accurate color reproduction but does that really matter when it is priced this low?One problem I have is with the included HDMI cable. It almost immediately came apart. I contacted FeelWorld to get a replacement but they told me that the warranty does not include free items that came with it. Luckily, I have other HDMI cables. (I wonder what else they do not warranty?)My take away from the interaction with FeelWorld is that they don't want the headache of dealing with customers. If you have a problem, take it up with B&H and forget emailing the company directly.

Failed on first shoot

Worked out of the box when I tested it. The minute I powered it on for the first shoot day, blank screen. Clearly receiving power, but no image. Not even a boot image. I switched batteries and it worked for a few minutes, then went blank again. Unplugged HDMI and did not even get the no input screen. Did some research (which I should have done more of before purchasing) and a LOT of folks have this issue with this monitor. Some have solved it by prying open the monitor and reconnecting wires. But... no, I'm not doing that. And even if there was a fix, I cannot have something this unreliable on a shoot. Returned it within a week of purchase.

Good Monitor
28 October 2020

This is my first monitor, so my experience is limited. I like most of the features and the ability to add LUTs. It seems bright enough for indoor use. For outdoor use, the shade helps a little, but sometimes the monitor isn't bright enough outdoors, even with the shade.I do wish it had a few physical shortcut buttons somewhere on the exterior. Having to go through the menu, to turn on the zebras for example, can slow you down. The bracket that comes with it has pros and cons. I like that it has an extra cold-shoe mount. What I don't like about it is that is has notches that the monitor fits into to keep it straight with the plane of the camera. If you want to tilt it up, the notches are pushing the monitor away from the bracket and it doesn't feel like it's ... MoreThis is my first monitor, so my experience is limited. But if I had a little more money to spend, I'd probably buy a 7 monitor that is brighter.

Great for the price!
16 December 2021

This is my third FeelWorld on-cam monitor and I really enjoy their products. This is the first I've had with a touchscreen, and what a difference that makes! The touch works really well and speeds up operation of the monitor A LOT! It is so easy to pull up the histogram or change the volume, etc. The color isn't a perfect representation of the image from the Sony a7s ii that I'm using this with - the monitor looks a little warmer and contrasty than the actual image. I haven't messed with the color of the monitor so this is maybe something I can fix. Regardless, I wouldn't expect the color to be perfect at this price point, so tis not really an issue. Would strongly recommend this for budget filmmakers.

It Works!
10 January 2023

I love this el cheapo monitor. I use it for my B camera which is an old Canon 70D. For some reason my fancy Small HD monitor doesn't work with this camera, but with this monitor it does. Not only that, but through the monitor the 70D now has peaking, scopes, Zebras and all the other assists that imposters like me rely on.The only downside is that you lose touchscreen controls. But put together, this monitor has taken my old Canon off death row. 4.5/10

It's very good. But...
19 August 2023

I really like this monitor. The size is right, the resolution is very good. I like it more than the older SmallHD. The only downside is the brightness. Not for sunny summer weather, the screen is not bright enough and is a bit reflective. The hood that came with kind of helps but not too much. Consider this before buying.

If all you need to do is see your frame a little bit bigger then sure, this is fine.If you want more functionality beyond that look elsewhere. The power passthru is subpar, once a battery on on the monitor begins to lose charge your camera will not operate properly. If you want see colors on screen with any accuracy, look elsewhere.I was not expecting stunning color accuracy at this price point, but this thing is not even remotely close to what anyone would call passable. No matter how you change the settings or calibrate it there will always be a green cast, or magenta cast, or a lack of color, or over saturation. Because this is not with the current $190 price tag.

Tons of functionality!
19 November 2020

Really nice unit overall, especially for the price. Lots of great functions; zebra, false color, rgb parade, focus assist, etc. Loading luts is easy and the touchscreen is very responsive. The tilt arm can be a little stiff - make sure you have the two bump notches lined up and don't be afraid to put some pressure behind the tilt the first few times you use it. The documentation isn't amazing, but the menu is intuitive enough to figure everything out. And yes, the fast menu items *can* be customized using the scroll wheel. My unit also came with the latest firmware out of the box, which was nice. I would love to have external recording on it, but at this price that's just not viable.

decent monitor but not as good as their bigger model

I bought the F6 because I'd seen a freelancer use this brand of monitor for his jib. Though this monitor is packed with features, the brightness of the monitor pales by comparison to the FeelWorld FW279S 7. you cannot use this monitor outside, there is just not enough push to make it usable. That said, there are many things that makes it a good monitor for inside shooting. You can load LUTS on an SD card so see how your footage will look in post. That is a nice feature... the monitor is light, the mount it quite unique so it's works well in many situations as long as you do not need to tilt the monitor left and right. If your more of a cinematic shooter and need a monitor for inside, it's a nice second monitor.
