Feliway Pheromone Spray For Cats - 60ml
Feliway is one of the key brands of the global animal health and welfare company, Ceva Sante Animale. Feliway is a chemical copy of one of the feline facial pheromones (F3) used by cats to mark their territorial boundaries. A cat rubbing its face on its environment releases this pheromone. This behaviour is performed everyday by all cats domestic, or wild, and provides them with reassurance. Within a new environment, a cat will also mark, to make this place familiar and safe. Cats also mark their territory with scratching and urine marking. When these behaviours occur inside the home, they usually indicate a cat feels stressed. Feliway Spray helps to nurture your relationship with your cat / kitten and prevent issues like scratching and spraying. Simply shake the bottle and spray in doorways, cat-flaps, window sills and other significant objects around your home. Scientific studies have shown that by using Feliway your cat will spend more time in the home. Spray Feliway into the pet carrier to help comfort your cat on car journeys, or trips to the vet.

Feliway spray is great for a multi-cat home. All my cats have different personalities and tolerances (of each other) & occasionally I use a little spray which keeps them calm and resist the urge to scratch at furniture. Highly recommend this product

Read the instructions and discuss carefully with your vet. Learn the best spots to spray it by paying attention to behaviour, very useful for stress related areas (like windows where the cat is looking out at night to wandering strays etc), pissing spots or whatever. Listen to your cat, they are very effective communicators once you work out what they are saying! I have found this works well in conjunction with the diffuser during the more stressful times (i.e. when the neighbourhood cats are out looking for love, or there is a possum etc). Use sparingly just in the areas where needed, and your cat will tell you those.

Very pleased with Feliway. I have a cat that doesn't like sharing the house with the younger one. "Never the twain shall meet!" Spraying Feliway around calms her down and she settles a lot better. Doesn't make them friendly to each other...but keeps the older one calm. A great find.

I purchased this hoping that it would help relieve anxiety for my cat who gets extremely distressed going to the vet. I sprayed it (one spray only as per instructions) on a towel that I put inside the carrier. I did this for three days and just positioned the carrier in one of the bedrooms where my cat is usually happy to snooze on the bed. Instead of calming her it has upset her to the point that she will not go into that room. I moved the carrier with towel into another room and she avoided that room as well. This product might work for some animals but I'm sure it has done the opposite of what it supposed to do in our case. Very disappointed as it was not cheap. Money wasted on this occasion. No use at all.
Using this to try and stop male cat from spraying and female cat from pooping out of litter. So far has made no difference but will keep trying. It's been 1 week so would say it's not magic and not a quick fix.
Feliway was recommended to me by a vet when a second cat joined our household. My original cat was not impressed. I occasionally sprayed their living areas with Feliway which helped to calm both cats. The bottle of Feliway lasted nearly ten years! You dont need to use much. My recent purchase was for my daughters cat who has moved to a new home and was finding it hard to adjust. Im sure the Feliway will help her to settle down. Also handy to spray cat crate for visits to the vet!
We've moved several times and Feliway definitely seems to reduce the anxiety experienced by our furry girl. We've also used it in her carrier when she's been travelling with us in the car and it seems to have a calming effect. We've been using the product for several years and are happy with the outcomes.
I used this in conjunction with the Feliway diffuser and sprayed the Carrier with it in the lead up to a big interstate move. I had the carrier in the lounge room with some familiar stuff in it and sprayed inside it here and there to try and familiarise my very travel averse kitties with it. I then sprayed the carrier again on the day of the move. In conjunction with the diffuser and a little (natural) anti anxiety medication, it was actually a really smooth trip, I couldn't believe it! Definitely use if you have to pop kitty in carrier and take them somewhere.
Feliway was recommended to me by a cat behavior expert. We have an 18 month old male tabby which we purchased as an 8 week old kitten from an animal shelter. We keep our cats indoors with an outside "cat run". This cat has a very bold/confident personality and has taken to urinating during the night in a particular area of our dining room. Cleaning the area with Urine-off and spraying Feliway has had no effect on his behaviour despite their claims, and having tried this over several weeks. It is very expensive, and I am now looking at other options such as changing the landscape of the area and SSSCat. That said, we have had a number of cats over the years and this one is exceptionally bold/confident, so Feliway may be more effective with more sedate cat personalities.
Feliway spray is tops stuff. Having just adopted an anxious rescue kitty it has come in very handy indeed, though I am keeping to use lightly as needed.Sprayed it on a newly acquired cat tree and it never even made it as far as the intended spot. I left it in the kitchen overnight after bringing it in to the house and spraying it .. and the quite new to my house "will leave the safe room to investigate things in the quiet safety of night only" 18 month old kitty was sitting in it in the wilds of the kitchen the next morning... she was definitely more comfortable in my interactions with her that day.Having even that single interaction - and the association from it in the cat's mind - would be worth it, but I get to keep the stuff to keep using as needed, to help ... MoreFeliway spray is tops stuff. This can be really handy in associating certain items or places with safety and security.(and I can't help shake the feeling the diffuser may be very good at making any cracks in windows or walls or airflow vents - probably out of reach - seem soothing to kitty. Of much more limited use than being able to make her feel secure on the pillow or in the igloo in which she sleeps).Especially useful for stressful kitties, but all kitties have stresses to deal with(try spraying the cat carrier for vet trips!)10/10. Would recommend. Also use cat psychology though. Be aware what freaks kitty out and don't treat cat as irrational. It is all rational (from a cat's perspective) behaviour. Google "slow blink" if you have not already, and help kitty gain trust as they are wired to :)..and my anxious rescue cat is doing very well. It is now four weeks since she joined me here and she now sleeps alongside me at least some of the time and sometimes snoozes under my tented knees when I sit on the floor to play with her or snuggled just lightly into my back... She responds well after something startles her and I assure her it is ok.. stops a couple of steps away and comes back. And she has started trilling. I love excitable and enthusiastic - and happy - companion cats :)
