First, I wanted to mention that my first mug I ordered was lost in the mail and they replaced it ASAP. Amazing customer service!As for the mug, it fits my cupholder nicely, it keeps my coffee warm for a long time, the splash guard is nice because I walk to class with my coffee a lot, and having that ceramic inside sets them apart from any other to-go coffee mug I’ve ever tried. Before what I would have to do is make my coffee into a coffee cup, let it cool, then decant into my to-go cup because I make light roasts that are fairly acidic and use near-boiling water. At these temps (and acidity?) you will notice weird flavors if you brew directly into a plastic container. I notice weird tastes in metal containers, such as a yeti, at any temperature. Now I brew directly into my mug since it’s ceramic. I would advise removing the splash guard if you brew directly into it.

The clean and simple design is fabulous but we are less than thrilled with the function. We've had our Carter Move mugs for about a month and have tried all three lids (360° Sip, Slide Lock and Splash Guard) and we're not happy with any of them.The mug itself has such a huge lip inside that one needs to severely tilt it to get any liquid out. Regardless of which lid we use, the tilt is something we just cannot get used to.Additionally, I was aware these were hand-wash but didn't realize the lids had so many areas that a bottle brush just can't cover. I do not have confidence that these are 100% clean and/or dry.We love the way these look and the customization was outstanding. Holds temperature great, no complaints there, though I do notice that the plastic cap gets warm vs. the metal sides. Love the overall shape and feel. I wasn't sure about the splash guard design, but I like it... and LOVE the ceramic interior! Only downside would be the cap, noticeable that it is not metal, but that would drive up cost so I'm OK with that. I'm a cheapskate, so would pay the full $40, but not bad on sale at $20. Wish there was a way to keep drips from happening when taking the top off, but not much you do about that and the lip is designed well to catch those when turned over. One thought... add slight finger/thumb "fins" on the cap and body to make one-handed opening/closing easier, have these line up with each other when fully closed.
The ceramic coating holds on to aroma and flavors worse than anything else I’ve ever had. The mug always as an unpleasant smell no matter how I clean it. Stale , old coffee. Coffee leaves a residual smell that even with rinsing will not go away. It’s not the lid either as I hardly use. You can see a brown film that builds up on the ceramic coating after every use and doesn’t go away after rinsing. I can wipe my finger on the ceramic coating and see the color change in the brown film thats built up. The film will come off with hot soap and water, but then next time I use it the mug tastes like that soap. As soon as the soap flavor goes away, it’s back to smelly, stale coffee. The mugs work well as insulated mugs go. The ceramikote interior is excellent and retaining the milder flavors of coffee and it doesn't hold on to smells. Cleaning the seal is a straightforward process. The seal isn't so burly that you can get in the little fold and get out the mold growth pretty easily.The advertised feature regarding the Aeropress fit doesn't really work. The tolerance is so close that the tiny bit of expansion from heated plastic gets the Aeropress stuck in the rim every time. Quality control over this mug's rim tolerance can use improvement. I purchased two mugs - the gift mug could fit an unheated Aeropress coffeemaker but my own was too tight.
