First, I wanted to mention that my first mug I ordered was lost in the mail and they replaced it ASAP. Amazing customer service!As for the mug, it fits my cupholder nicely, it keeps my coffee warm for a long time, the splash guard is nice because I walk to class with my coffee a lot, and having that ceramic inside sets them apart from any other to-go coffee mug I’ve ever tried. Before what I would have to do is make my coffee into a coffee cup, let it cool, then decant into my to-go cup because I make light roasts that are fairly acidic and use near-boiling water. At these temps (and acidity?) you will notice weird flavors if you brew directly into a plastic container. I notice weird tastes in metal containers, such as a yeti, at any temperature. Now I brew directly into my mug since it’s ceramic. I would advise removing the splash guard if you brew directly into it.

Fantastic travel mug, keeps my coffee deliciously hot. The ceramic lining really does make a difference. Most metal travel mugs get that stale coffee smell no matter how much you clean them, but not this one! When I was reading the specs about the “thin lip” I thought it didn’t sound so special. I was wrong, it does actually improve the drinking experience. Same goes for the snap in splash guard. This sounded like a gimmick, but it is actually one of my favourite things about this travel mug. Makes it so much easier to drink out of on the go! The lid seals and I can trust it not to spill! The design of this mug is simple but well thought out. It is super easy to clean which is a big plus for (no little bits and pieces with hard to clean comments).

Holds temperature great, no complaints there, though I do notice that the plastic cap gets warm vs. the metal sides. Love the overall shape and feel. I wasn't sure about the splash guard design, but I like it... and LOVE the ceramic interior! Only downside would be the cap, noticeable that it is not metal, but that would drive up cost so I'm OK with that. I'm a cheapskate, so would pay the full $40, but not bad on sale at $20. Wish there was a way to keep drips from happening when taking the top off, but not much you do about that and the lip is designed well to catch those when turned over. One thought... add slight finger/thumb "fins" on the cap and body to make one-handed opening/closing easier, have these line up with each other when fully closed.
The ceramic coating holds on to aroma and flavors worse than anything else I’ve ever had. The mug always as an unpleasant smell no matter how I clean it. Stale , old coffee. Coffee leaves a residual smell that even with rinsing will not go away. It’s not the lid either as I hardly use. You can see a brown film that builds up on the ceramic coating after every use and doesn’t go away after rinsing. I can wipe my finger on the ceramic coating and see the color change in the brown film thats built up. The film will come off with hot soap and water, but then next time I use it the mug tastes like that soap. As soon as the soap flavor goes away, it’s back to smelly, stale coffee. I've owned this mug for maybe a month and already have had multiple leaks with a firmly closed lid. I have been sent a replacement with the same issue.Design flaws in the mug's lid make it so that you have to screw the lid very, very tight in order to prevent leakage. This makes it extremely difficult to open considering there is no grip and the curve of the lid begins right at the seal.At first customer service was abysmal and provided an auto-response non-solution, but after a second try my concerns were tended to and I was sent a replacement.Unfortunately the same issue persisted with the new mug which is why I have to give a poor rating.I was really hopeful for this mug. Unfortunately it does not live up to it's price.
