Love the mug! I notice that my coffee tastes and smells significantly better than a traditional travel mug. The splash guard easily pops in place and helps avoid sloshing while drinking. The mug also has a thin lip for comfortable drinking. I haven’t experienced any leaking.In terms of downsides, I’m not sure how it would handle drops - since ceramic is more brittle than steel, I’m careful to avoid dropping it. The mug doesn’t hold temperature as long as a metal-lined mug, but it is more than long enough to drink my morning coffee. Finally, the mug requires two hands to unscrew the lid and drink, which is less convenient in the car. Overall, the upside of having a mug that keeps my coffee tasting fresh significantly outweighs these downsides.

Initially, I loved the product. Great design and looks great. Unfortunately, I think the build is not good. Something my wife and I enjoy doing is making Bulletproof coffee. MCT oil that we use is known to dissolve styrofoam and some cheap plastics. We have had 2 slide lids break in weird places, like the inner ring that sits on the mug itself to create a seal. Now we think we know why: Whatever some of the plastic is made of in the locking mechanism and the sealing ring is broken down by the MCT oil. I LOVE this tumbler, especially for loose leave tea. The ceramic coating inside maintains the delicate flavors of my tea. This tumbler keeps the temperature of the tea hot for a long time. I’ve been very impressed. I give the tumbler 5 out of 5 stars. I deducted a star from this review in Crate & Barrel because of the lack of attention to quality in making sure the online order is complete before sending to the customer. I ordered 6 of these tumblers and when I received and opened it, I noticed that one of them was missing the handle for the inside splash guard and others was missing product information, like it a returned item. Does everything it says on the tin VERY WELL, but it was ridiculously difficult to clean this product because of the O ring, compared to any other double walled bottle/mug I own. It is a premium product and unfortunately was a dealbreaker for me.The O ring gets drenched in coffee every time if you open and close it more than once with coffee in there, BUT the main problem is that it is a hollow O ring with a U shaped cross section, meaning it allows coffee to squeeze inside the O ring. This means that not only do you have to remove it to clean it every single time, you have to peel the O ring open to fully rinse it. Whatever "ceramic glaze" they use inside this thermos leaves the must awful smell after use. The smell is impossibly to remove and is not due to the removable plastic seal (which was designed to basically harbor bacteria and also smells). I removed this plastic piece and not only does the container still smell now it also leaks.Fellow has decent ideas for their products, but the execution of the actual products is awful. I sent back the electric kettle because the bottom metal pieces were not welded correctly, and the glass double walled coffee pour over I purchased was overpriced and the seal on the bottom fell apart causing condensation and water to pool inside the cup after a few washes.This move mug is no different. I was pleased to find just how hot my coffee was 6 hours after I brewed it and poured it in (I kept it sealed the whole time). The thing I was not expecting was how nice it was to drink directly from. The contours of the metal lip are more naturally comfortable on my lips than other travel mugs. The ceramic coating did seem to have some effect, as the coffee did taste slightly less metallic despite the uncoated stainless steel at the top (again, compared to other travel mugs). The only things that have a lingering coffee smell is mostly the silicone sealing ring around the base of the lid screw cap and the lid itself being plastic (so it tends to absorb smells). This however does not seem to affect the tasting experince as it doesn't come into contact much with your coffee.Is it truly spill proof? Yes! I have done some decent shake tests, and it absolutely, unequivocally is spill proof.Last but not least, and in fact, arguably the most important thing. Does it keep your coffee hot/drinkable?... Yes, yes it does, but that is entirely subjective to your preferences. I do mostly pour overs, in fact for this mug I only use pour over coffee in it. I have tested this multiple times, and I have had still warm drinkable coffee after 16 hours! It only advertises 12, however if you are trying to get a broad range of flavour notes out of your coffee you will know that different flavours come out or are percieved better as your coffee cools down. So when I say it's warm and drinkable, it is warm and drinkable. Not Luke warm, WARM. Like I said, it's subjective though, some people may only like it if there coffee is essentially melting the roof of their mouth, (FYI it won't keep your coffee mouth meltingly hot for hours on end).There's two things I regret about writing this review, 1 is that I didn't keep it brief like I said in the outset that I would try to do, and 2 is that I probably could have wrote more.TLDR: Honestly you will not regret buying this mug, it is quiet a good fellow.
