I hesitated to purchase another mug for some time until I saw the move mug with the slide-lock lid. This is the combo that I was looking for. The mug itself is a mug in good quality with ceramic coating inside (a plus for me) and it’s surface provides enough texture to hold on.The slide-lock lid is “easy” to open to drink although I have to use to hands to do so. So far so good. Used a couple of times. I have the 360 Sip cup and also the On The Go cup. This slide lid seems to be the best of both worlds. It doesn’t spill like the 360 Sip could when on the go, but I can still sip when on the go without unscrewing the lid each time. My favorite part of the whole system is the splash guard. It keeps things more hot and reduces spills. Wish I had a couple more of them.One thing I haven’t tried is deep cleaning. The Slide lid came with a very long and detailed description of almost “76” steps to disassemble and clean it!!

Holds the perfect amount of liquid, and keeps it cold or hot for longer than I’ve needed it to. No metal taste. Somewhat slow flow rate through the valve, but it’s fitting for coffee or tea. Easy in my opinion to take apart the mouthpiece thing and clean it, despite there being a couple pieces to worry about. Completely leak proof in my experience, but beware with the lid that sometimes liquid sitting on the mouthpiece can trickle out after refilling.(Pro tip!! There is no silicone bottle boot sold by Fellow to protect the bottom of Carter from scratches and dents, but the Owala 24 ounce silicone bottle boot fits absolutely perfectly, even though it covers a large amount of the vessel.)
This would have 5 stars if it came with a little key of some sort to turn the spring mechanism. I don't carry cash so I don't have spare coins lying around and it isn't quite deep enough to use a butter knife (I've slipped with one). Just a simple T shaped Key would have been much easier.All that said, the lit functions as designed. I love that you can take it apart and really clean it out. The coffee stays hot, so be careful how hot you put it in there. It will last for hours. And it doesn't affect the taste. We'll see how well the coating inside holds up over time. For the cost, as long as I get two years out of it, I'm good with it.
I bought this lid because I travel by subway and the slide lid seemed ideal. It is.But leak-proof was another selling point, mine aren’t. I have 2 slide lids for 2 different thermoses and both leak from the seal, not the slide. And not only from laying on its side. When I make my tea/coffee, I will give it a little shake… leaks right out.I thought maybe my drink was too hot, creating pressure? I dunno. Makes no sense, it’s a thermos. I think it’s handy for travel, but should be listed as splash-proof not leak-proof.I don’t feel confident throwing it in a bag or my coat pocket as it’s already cost me a dry cleaning bill.

I wanted something that was reasonably spill-resistant and could be operated one handed. You needed two hands to use the original Move, which meant it wasn't practical for driving, so I was elated when the Slide-Lock lid came out. The lid design is great; the mechanism feels solid and I find the flow rate pretty good (I tend to take small sips, anyway). I recognize the mug isn't so leakproof that it can be thrown upside-down in a bag, but it stays closed when kept upright in my bag's mug pocket, which is good enough for me. Super easy to rip apart and give a deep clean. looks great and seals pretty well. not a perfect seal unfortunately, as at some angles i got a few drips of coffee occasionally, but it was just barely, and only if i held it upside down for like six seconds straight. still, not perfect. flow is also a bit thin, wish it let a bit more coffee flow through. otherwise, love it! aesthetically pleasing, the opening/closing motion is super easy to do with one hand and is super satisfying. i take my mug everywhere with it on.
